If the man god is telling the truth, then killing Orsted is the better option, then teaming up with Orsted. Because Orsted is apparently evil, and will destroy the world. Why would you team up with somebody that's just using you to destroy the world? If the man god isn't lying, he's the way lesser of two evils.

I feel like you did not get the part about Orsted actually seeking to destroy the whole damn world where Rudeus' family lives by killing the Man-God who is the one entity keeping balance between 6 universes or something along these lines (as we've seen around the end of the diary episode). The Man-God was just acting like any good old god with god logic, sacrificing a few mortals to keep the global balance. Orsted is clearly the true last boss of the story as it will be very difficult to find any in-world character stronger than him. If Orsted wins and destroys the world, Rudeus' family is even more fucked than what happened in the diary.

Is that cloudy white semen really a god? He is utterly powerless; the only thing he is capable of is appearing to people in dreams and manipulating them through constant deception. He seems more like a parasite than a god. What point is there for Orsted to destroy the very world he lives in? He doesn't strike me as a suicidal madman.

In my opinion if the Man-God didn't lie, all that he did made complete sense from his point of view, and also the world not ending is way better than rudeus's family not dying, for the world I mean. And also we know that Rudeus cannot kill the man-god during his lifetime, because the relics needed to get there only appear after he dies, as we see in the future. So then the only logical thing to do would be... killing Orsted. Of course, this is all assuming the Man-God didn't tell a single lie during this episode

Just because Rudeus decsendants are immune to Orsted's curse does not explain why they would team up with him to kill Hitogami and therefore destroy the world, Rudy should have asked more questions there. I just sounds like more of Hitogami's bs.

Assuming it's true it does make's sense, but Hitogami literally told Rudeus that his descendants will want him dead, that alone should have been enough of a red flag for Rudeus to ask whyyyyyy would they want that, assuming it's true Hitogigami basically said "I'm the good guy, he is the bad guy, but for some INEXPLICABLE REASON your children like him and they hate me enough to destroy the world", any parent would AT LEAST want to hear a more detailed explanation. Also, fighting Orsted does seem like the more logical thing to do ONLY AS LONG as he can actually kill him, because if Rudeus fails and dies in the process, Lucy and Roxy's child could still be targets for Hitogami, since he never specified which generation of Rudeus descendants would team up with Orsted.

You're creating your own context, Rudy's descendents could simply be deceived by Orsted, that's why they helped him.

That's not really the point, Rudy doesn't believe him but he has no choice (or he believes he has no choice). In the novel it was clearer that Rudy was basically begging the man-god to let his family alone. The man-god can see everything and influence anyone, the existential danger would never end, and Rudy doesn't trust Orsted either.

The only thing I regret in this episode, is that in the novel you really felt that Rudy was begging the man-god to let his family alone, here in the anime the discussion with Hitogami seemed very civil. But Rudy truly thinks he has no choice. Otherwise very cool ep. Loved the little family scenes, Lucie so cute.

Rudy either has to succeed or succeed because if he doesn't try man god will try to kill Roxy again, he doesn't even have to manipulate Rudy, future Rudy said he manipulated Luke too so there's literally now way to 100% protect Roxy, if he Dies to Orsted he can go and Manipulate Luke again and kill Roxy even easier now that Rudy is gone, I bet that the world ending because Man god dies is bullshit so I really hope there's some way to speed up the appearance of the things that helps them go to where man god is or that Orsted knows a way to get there or maybe Nanahoshi can figure something out if she doesn't.. unalive herself or something PLEASE

I'm confused why Rudy is going after Orsted. Future Rudy made it clear to not antagonize ManGod, and to not trust him. So going to Orsted seems like a terrible play? If Rudy is actually going to try and kill Orsted, he's trusting ManGod and hoping he'll keep his promise not to hurt Rudy's family, which is stupid. ManGod will 100% try to kill them to protect himself, and would do it while Rudy is going to kill Orsted if the opportunity presented itself. If Rudy is going to ally with Orsted, and is just pretending to agree since ManGod is watching him, then that's also stupid, since that will instantly make ManGod aggro against Rudy and his family. You could argue that he's already aggro to them, so things can't get worse, but they definitely can. ManGod is still at least somewhat trying to persuade Rudy, but that goes out the window if Rudy is openly hostile. I also still don't trust ManGod's version of events. If it was the Rudy's future descendants go after ManGod, why didn't he try to stop Rudy from marrying, or try to kill Sylphie when she had Lucy? Why wait until Roxy to attack? He's a liar and manipulator, so there's no reason to trust his version of events. He's not after Rudy's family in general, but specific children and bloodlines.

Actually, if you think about the Man god's plan in a logical way... -Rudy fights Orsted, but since the latter is a badass, Rudy won't be able to defeat him and dies. -Rudy's family will hold a grudge against Orsted and try to fight him instead of teaming with him leading to their demise. -Orsted alone again. -Man god wins all the potatoes!

it seemed like you somehow missed a few frames of eris blank stare as the first letter is coming to a conclusion. I would say that there's multiple conflicting feelings buzzing in eris brain and they shorted her out for a second. But because she always wanted to be equal to rudeus, the fight with Orsted on Rudeus side is the thing she really wanted all along, so it overrode her ambiguous feelings.

There's something that's buggin me. Oldeus [old rudeus] knows that Dragon God Orsted is using the teleportation runes. He spotted his clothes himself. So that means Orsted probably met with Perugius. And If so, That means they either fought and both resigned, they are on the same side, or perugius doesn't care about man-god. He doesn't have to ask periugius directly about man-god. He can just ask if he met Orsted and how it went. That would give him everytthing he needs to understand it, and conjure a meeting with orsted. And Oldeus wanted to kill man-god himself. Its not that he didn't want to, he understood that he didn't have enough time. So, Rudeus is doing it again. He's not listening to his old self correctly. Unless he's going to investigate, but then, he would sent Eris to her grave, cause we know she will jump that ni-dragon god on sight. Also orsted attacked when provoked, but spared his life. But man-god goes straight for the kill on his own. Its clear their roles are reverse than what the man-god is saying.

I disagree on one thing: even if rudeus tried to kill orsted, and failed, there's nothing stopping man-god from still going after rudy's descendants or roxy again while she's pregnant. It's basically a gamble at all if he goes after Orsted to actually kill him. What i might speculate here, since Rudeus knows that man-god is watching: maybe he nodded along in front of man-god and setup the expectations that he wants to kill orsted, but he's never killed anyone before, and so maybe it's a way for him to reach orsted and instead of killing him, if he confirms that orsted is not trying to kill the world (proving man-god lying) then he aligns with orsted, if orsted is trying to destroy the world, then rudy will side with the lesser of 2 evils if mangod's goals were to stop orsted by interrupting rudy's family... in EITHER cases, the worst thing that rudeus can do here is : nothing. If he stays still and ignores the problem, that's the lose-lose option of not trusting anyone and yet being the calamity and collateral in the middle. So his only option is to confront orsted once and for all and find out which side he needs to align with.

i wouldn't be surrpised if Spem-God was a previously-isekai'd person trying to take control of the world and disrupt the balance of the gods (similar to DnD Vecna) and using any ruse possible to gain power/control, including lying and borderline-rewriting the history of the world as if he's always been there, but he's not always been there (which explains the Human-God --> Man-God name change that only few people seem to know about such as Oldeus after spending his entire life just chasing that singular entity down exclusively)

I am exited to see how they'll animate next cour of the season. It's going to ABSOLUTE CINEMA! Also I saw a comment saying on a previous episode to check out the Novel/Webnovel called, "Old Dragon's Tale". As much as I would love you to read it and check it out. DON'T. Depending on how the next half of the season ends then you should be clear to read it. I don't fully know yet.

Orsted is ranked 2nd among the seven great power and according to Man God Orsted is stronger than rank 1 if you take away his curses. Orsted's curses holds him back. Even disregarding Man Gods word, Orsted would be the second strongest being in the Mushoku Tensei's world. Man God is so afraid of getting killed by Orsted. Why do you think that is. Man God could be afraid of any of the other 6 great powers but he isn't. None of these are spoilers because they explained about all this in the anime already.
