About the live action, it's not that far, you will quickly arrive at the same moment. But if someone in the chat say after episode 400, it's mainly because they take some liberties who could spoil future events if you want to keep the surprise. For movies, yes no one is canon, the only important thing is to wait that all characters who appear in are arrived in the anime. Surely other people can tell you when watch what. For example for One piece RED, I think it's important to watch at least 877 episodes for have no spoil, and if you want to wait the time it was released, you need to wait until episode 1027.

It is not even that bad in the anime pre time skip, just after the time skip it is really awful sometimes and Toei seems to hate Sanji. But yeah, as amanga reader myself, Sanji is by far the best written character in this show! ^^

Alright luke dude you need to pick up the amount of episodes of one piece you are watching per week every week. Because 4 episodes is not enough and its not because i want more one piece. Its because it will take you forever to catch up to where one piece currently is at 1,180 episodes. If you only watch 4 episodes of one piece per week every week. So hear i did the math for you So you have already watched one piece from episode 1 up to episode 25. Now starting from episode 26 all the way to episode 1180 excluding all 97 filler and recap episodes if you were to watch 4 episodes of one piece per week every week you want to know how long would it take you to reach episode 1,180 It would take you exactly 264.5 weeks (approximately 5 years and 1 month) just to get to episodes 1,180. • Total episodes in your target range: Watching from episode 26 through 1180 leaves you with 1,155 episodes (1180 - 25 = 1,155). • Subtract the filler/recap episodes Removing the 97 filler and recap episodes reduces your watch list to 1,058 canon episodes. • Weekly timeline: At a pace of 4 episodes per week, dividing 1,058 by 4 gives you 264.5 weeks or over 5 years. Now i could use nicholas light as an example of how you could watch one piece faster. but he was kinda all over the place with his one piece reactions because he skipped filler and recap episodes which im completely fine with. but he started using one pace which i personally don't like. and then he also started reacting to new episodes from the newest arc while still not having finished the are before that one so he was watching old and new episodes of one piece at the same time. which just confused everyone watching his reactions and including himself because he was missing context. so instead im gonna use aliciaxlife as an example instead because she didn't skip filler she didn't use one pace and she didn't skip ahead she watched everything in order. Now aliciaxlife started watching one piece on Jun 3, 2023 from episode 1 obviously and she didn't skip any filler episodes she only skipped recap episodes and she eventually caught up to the one piece weekly episode release on Sep 30, 2025 at episode 1,145 so it took aliciaxlife 2 years, 3 months, and 29 days or a total time elapsed: From June 3, 2023, to September 30, 2025, that is exactly 850 days. So 850 days divided by 7 days a week equals approximately 121.43 weeks. Dividing the 1,145 episodes by 121.43 weeks gives an average pace of 9.45 episodes each week (or roughly 1.35 episodes per day or roughly 9 to 10 episodes a week. So please im begging you to at least start watching 9 to 10 episodes of one piece per week because it shouldn't take more than two and a half or 3 years for you to get to episode 1,180. it should not take you 4 or 5 years to get to episode 1,180

I feel like I'm a bad One Piece fan, or I'm doing something wrong or something - especially seeing some of the talk in chat during these livestreams. Lots of people talk trash about the pacing of the show and they always say to skip the filler, and some people absolutely hate one of the main characters or something. Me watching for the first time (I'm almost to ep 400), I've enjoyed almost all of the filler (some of the filler has been as good or better than some bits of the canon stuff), I don't feel like the pacing is too slow overall (some bits within arcs can drag a bit, particularly some of the big fights, but not enough to make me skip ahead or stop watching), and I've loved all the main characters so far, and a lot of the background characters too. I dunno, guess I'm just weird.

Ouf chat,, LA ruins a bunch if you haven't see ahead of time but also changes stuff like people who die in LA but don't in the original source materials... Personally, I don't watch and wouldn't because of how much is changed and I don't think every animated series needs a live-action adaptation, why ruin or change a good thing? For money, but still..
