It almost feels like MHA is cheating. Where another anime needs 10 episodes to make me care for a charakter, MHA can do it in one. Multiple times throughout the show I thought 'I would have done that differently' only to eat my own words some episodes later, because it turned out 10 times better than I imagined. I don't know how MHA does it... they must be cheating, I just don't know how yet..

People talk alot of smack about this part, but as soon as you started this series i immediately knew that you would be invested in this part. Why? Because you're a father. To see a child smile for the first time is pretty much entirely what this part has been about. So I knew you were going to love it

Loved the reaction! Also it’s a great point. Not only does this arc fit and make sense, but it’s important to have that reprieve. If a series is always heavy, you can’t appreciate what’s being fought for. That peace, the good times and silliness are there to remind us that it’s the ultimate goal of heroes, to have a bright and happy future. In the words of Sir Nighteye: “Work hard and be sure to smile. After all, without joy and laughter to balance the sorrow, this world can never hope to have a bright future."

If you are going to be watching the rest of the ny hero academia movies, theres two coming up that take place during and straight after season 5, heroes rising is roughly in the middle of the season and in my opinion is one of the better movies, then world heroes mission is after season, still good but a little on the boring side compared to the rest of the movies, this is all my own opinion though so don't take that as definitive proof

the special thing about when Lemillion asks sir and deku if they can see Eri smiling, is that she isn't just smiling. you can see genuine joy. you start out this season with Eri only frowning and being scared, to seeing her able to make a beautiful huge smile and finally get to be a kid. she really enjoyed the show and that smile is worth everything the students and the heros went through.

I would say it works exactly because it makes sense for the story. We just capped off an arc where the message was to always look toward a bright future and keep joy alive. Even the provisional training involved how to help the future generations do the same thing. Eri’s plight was the cornerstone of this arc and it was paid off spectacularly.

Luke did notice her shining more in that moment a few seconds later. I know he missed her explaining her ability being Light Refraction back in season one. You claiming it to be a spoiler, is more announcing it to be one, than what I said.

Yup the whole build up for a school festival leads to this payoff and they do it so well, the intense first half of the season giving in to this seemly low key ?filler? Episodes but turns out they aren’t filler, they are all important and seeing Eri smile and lemillion telling sir she’s smiling! 😭🥰

The point of these "lighter" episodes is to show how much is at stake with the heavier episodes. These slice of life episodes show how YOUNG these CHILDREN are who are being put into these dark, life or death situations and what is at stake to lose if these kids fail against the villains who are continuously coming after them.

I also cried SO MUCH in this episode! I love this arc soooo much. The hate is idiotic. The hate in general on this show is crazy sometimes, it is one of the most beautiful anime I've ever watched and I watch anime and read manga since over 25 years, I have read and watched thousands and I hate when people hate on something just for the sake of hating.

Tbh idk why you think this “isn’t a reaction episode“ or then it won’t do as well in terms of views. This is one of the best episodes of the season, and I think a lot of people feel that have watched MHA feel that way. Just because there isn’t a lot of action compared to what has been going on doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty to react to. The joy of Eri watching the concert is the payoff for the events before.

It could go pretty well if he does episode 24 on Monday, episode 25 on Wednesday, movie on Friday and then start new season on Saturday. Since there has often now been movies on Friday slots.
