Martin

JESSE!

Mario Serra

I was waiting for you guys to get to this episode. Can’t wait to see your reaction. I feel it’s a big turning point for Walter as he slides more into Heisenberg.

Keeza

My mate told me this before I watched the show "Jesse is a good guy pretending to be bad whereas Walter is a bad guy pretending to be good" that stuck with me icl🤣

Tia
>>136187877

I saw this somewhere too and it’s so accurate 💯

El

started crying at the end of this one, which turned into a full sobbing session in the finale 🫠

Keeza
>>136187877

Don't get me wrong Jesse isn't squeaky clean either but compared to walter🤣 the next 3 seasons gonna be a treat🤙

Raden

"Chemistry is the study of change" -Walter White. Little by little we've watched Walt change and this episode is such a turning point

Kinobi10

Yall in for a wild ride, just hang in there 👊🏻

Theo Sebuliba

That’s the basis of this show, every character makes horrendous choices in this show

Ray H

Bryan Cranston said that when he looked at Jane dying, he pictured his own daughter and it choked him up.

Mark

This is the episode where breaking bad went from great to exceptional storytelling. Giving money to an addict is like throwing Jet Fuel on a fire.

Aldo Gonzales

Walt didn’t kill Jane himself, but he still didn’t even try to save her.

Dreamville Paul2x

this is my first watch of breaking bad I’ve been watching with y’all and my conclusion is we gotta kill Jane😂😂😂

Martin

I'm starting to think this Walt feller might have a bit of a dark side

Brian McG

Vince was straight shook in the last minute of the episode. And it's just begun, haha. The rest of the series is a wild ride so keep your hands inside the cart and remain buckled at all times.

SV1976

They had the typical response to this episode for a few minutes there - speechless.

Mark

I am not excusing walt and Jesse's behavior but it was completely on her to stay clean. She also introduced Jesse to Heroin and blackmailed walt. You can't absolve her of responsibility. That being said what Walt did was abhorrent. Vince your a very logical person. Unfortunately many people don't make smart decisions and act like the characters in this show. That being said just keep watching! First two seasons are a warmup you haven't even gotten to the main course yet. The events of the first 2 seasons get you to really know the characters which makes the rest of the story exciting.

Trayvon Brown

I remembered this scene incorrectly and never considered it as Walt killing Jane, but now I do. Jane was initially on her side; she only ended up on her back because Walt shook Jesse, causing her to fall. He was obligated to save her since he directly contributed to her death.

Chase Taylor
>>136194300

When Walt shakes Jesse, he causes Jane to fall over on her back. If he had never showed up, it's likely that she would've choked up on her side and survived it. So he sort of indirectly killed her IMO.

John
>>136202122

i meann she wouldnt have died if she didn’t take dangerous amounts of drugs but i get what you mean

Trayvon Brown
>>136202122

She's taken dangerous amounts of drugs for years but always took precautions, we even see her talking about laying on her side earlier in the episode. This is on Walt.

Jesse S

Agree with y’all this season and storyline is super depressing and man that last scene where Walt let’s her die was so fucked up. Feel so bad for Jane’s dad especially after that scene at the bar you can tell how much he loves his daughter. Man this show so amazing but so depressing

Ryan
>>136194300

Still technically isn’t his fault since it was her choice to shoot up

Bob

While the Jane ending was brutal to watch, it was a smart calculated move to let her die. From Walt's perspective Jane is the one that introduced Jesse to heroine, Walt came over to try and help Jesse and he had a quick reaction when she started choking to save her, but then realized that his best move would be to let her die to save Jesse from a life of drug use. He saw her as a horrible influence on him. Plus in Janes own words, when walt asked how does he know she'll keep her mouth shut. She smugly replied "You don't." and that's another thing Walt had to take into account.

Smellwell
>>136194300

Nah it's definitely his fault that Jane choked to death. That's not to say she wouldn't have died eventually anyways, but she probably wouldn't have died that night if Walt hadn't shown up. But you know, it's okay to root for Walt even though he's a bad person. You're supposed to root for him.

Trevor Boardman

On a lighter note, the website that Walt Jr made is an actual website you can go to. savewalterwhite.com lol

Aaron Boone

I definitely disagree with you guys about Walt and Jesse. It definitely was Jesse’s fault that Walt missed the birth of his child. I think you forget that the money is for his family. If Walt would have passed up making over a million on an hour that would have been a terrible decision not to mention just dumb. If Jesse wasn’t so high he could have took the product to the spot and Walt would have been able to go to the hospital. Believe me I’m not Walt’s biggest fan by any means. But Jesse is the in the wrong more than him right now. And also Walt letting Jane die was just the right thing to do. The right thing to help Jesse, and to protect his family’s Jane was terrible and deserved to die.

imperial

On Jane’s death you guys talked about the drugs and Jesse’s part. But was hoping to hear your thoughts on Walt letting Jane die. The drugs played a part but she didn’t die from an overdose. She died choking on her vomit because Walt accidentally pushed her on her back…and then stood there and watched when he could have saved her. It’s a huge turning point for his character.

Bob
>>136206506

Would I do the same thing he did? No. But I understand why he did it. Just saying.

DKThunder
>>136194300

Her deciding to shoot up might be messed up, but it is not her for not accounting for Walt breaking in and turning her on her back. The show goes through specific points to mention she was aware of the danger. It is 100 percent Walt's fault, even if his initial act was not intentional.

Tia

I can’t believe ya’ll are about to get into s3! This ep was just so good, but sad of course. Walt’s just like “I have to save her” but then he’s like “no, this could help Jesse in the long run and she was blackmailing me.” Which sure, it could help, but to let her die? sheesh… i feel for her dad.

DKThunder
>>136194792

You joke, but this is the episode that I think has the most people actually changing their opinions on Walt (of the ones that do). Up until now, I feel Walt hate was not particularly popular, but this episode was the one that put that opinion into the minds of many more people

DKThunder
>>136202122

This is the right answer. She took drug many times and didn't die. Walt saw her once (she didn't even see him) and she died. She barely had time to account for Walt into her survivability.

Ryan
>>136202122

Still tho. If you don’t wanna die, don’t take hardcore drugs.🤷‍♂️ there’s always a risk of death when dealing with those kinds of drugs

DKThunder
>>136206506

I don't think anyone's ever debated that Walt wasn't smart or calculated. But neither of those actually justifies the immorality of what he did. And yeah, one could argue that it is 'moral' to kill someone in defense of one's family's safety, but that ceases to be a fair argument when you are the initial reason your family is not safe (her threat being exposing his crimes)

DKThunder
>>136206506

I'll admit I never really considered that Jane dragged Jesse down in terms of being the one to intro him to heroin. I'll admit here my drug knowledge is low, but I'm gonna assume based on context that heroin is worse than meth in terms of being bad for you?

Aaron Boone
>>136216665

No she died from drugs. I sleep on my back all the time and I don’t choke on my own vomit. Walt letting her die was just the right thing to do because she was the bad guy at the moment. She got what she deserved.

Aaron Boone
>>136202122

So sleeping on your back normally results in death for all people? I could have sworn the reason she told Jesse to sleep on his side because of the drugs. Walt was trying to show Jesse love. And the enemy (Jane) died and it was a good thing.

Aaron Boone

For those of you who say Walt killed Jane… please first of all just stop cause you’re dead wrong. But second listen…. Let’s say you wrap your body in some type of bomb and put a shirt on over it so nobody can see the bomb. You don’t tell anybody about the bomb you just go on your day normal. Then somebody comes up and hugs you and accidentally starts the timer on the bomb and then a few seconds later you die. Are you saying that the person who hugged you killed you? No they didn’t know you had a bomb stepped under your shirt they were just hugging you. It’s your fault you put a bomb strapped to your body. That’s what Jane did. Jane took drugs that can easily kill you and then she died

Tia
>>136219406

It’s the fact of walt letting her die. It was indirectly killing her by not turning her back on her side. A significant turning point for Walter. The cast has spoke on this before actually, I believe in the episode’s commentary. They were initially going to have walt straight up kill her directly, but Bryan thought that was too much of a change for walt at this point, so they changed it to him indirectly killing her.

Tia
>>136216665

she got what she deserved?😭 im scared dude

Simon

Great ass episode been waiting for this one! Amazing reaction y’all

imperial
>>136216073

Do you really think a quick detour to Jesse’s house cost Walt that much time? 😅 It probably added 10 or 15 minutes to Walt’s trip. It’s not like Walt was only a few minutes late to the birth. He was extremely late. The only way to make the birth on time would be to cancel the drug deal.

imperial
>>136216665

I already said drugs played a part. But it doesn’t change the fact that Walt could have saved her. Walt letting Jane die is one of the biggest and talked about moments of the entire series. You’re missing the point of the episode if you’re talking about the drugs instead of Walt’s choice. Not even Walt would blame the drugs. He knows it was his fault.

Tia
>>136216665

Facts, Imperial. Which is why Walt shed a tear at the end. That’s the reason they included Skyler telling Walt about putting the baby on her side to not choke on spit-up, so we as an audience knew that Walt knew what to do in that situation.

Sweet Tears of Joy 🇺🇲

Was hoping for a movie upload today but instead it's yet another episode of this overrated generic show. Guess I'll check back tomorrow lol

LUNGSFULLOFSMOKE 710

Waiting for a X-men movie or maybe the boys but…… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Andrew
>>136230242

If you really think that then you have no sense or taste for cinematography, videography and writing. This show is the epitome of that and is a master class for aspiring directors and writers. Which is why it’s critically acclaim and has so many awards. The acting, character, dissection, study, and development is top tier. Lmao so yea….. remind me to never have a convo with you about film/ television. You’ll probably bring up a Cw show. 🤣💯🤦🏾‍♂️

Andrew
>>136216665

I mean I do agree that’s a little harsh lol but I see both sides on this one. she definitely did dig her own grave and made poor decisions in the end. Play stupid games win stupid prices. In my eyes Jane and Jesse are as in the wrong as Walt. Can’t work with or trust a junkie. Their poor decisions and toxicity will almost always effect or fall back on you. 💯🤷🏾‍♂️

Andrew

Ngl……. I’m definitely missing my daughter’s birth for a 1.2 million dollar deal lmfao. And my cut is over $400,000?!?! Yeaaa…….. my wife will forgive me in the cyber truck lol. And my daughter will understand in 18 years when her college is fully paid for lol. 💯🤷🏾‍♂️

Mitchell Smilie

Always pleasant to read sociopathic comments about how a person that makes a mistake (in this instance, doing drugs) deserves to die. As the great "Satchmo" observed: "what a wonderful world... " Walt did kill Jane because he had the chance to save her and he didn't. That doesn't mean she doesn't die prematurely at a later date, but he allowed her to die for his own selfish purpose. He's a piece of shit, no matter how well-written of a protagonist that he is. Just like Tony Soprano. I love to watch Tony Soprano, but I'm clear-headed enough to realize the guy is a monster. Some of you cats need a little soul in your life, lord have mercy.

Andrew
>>136230242

lol what ever you say. I’m not here to change minds. I am curious now. Do you mind elaborating on what is generic about the show? And also what is your favorite show? These are genuine questions With no biased Intent to agree or disagree. I am an aspiring writer/ director and I can only dream of writing a story and characters as good as the ones on breaking bad. so I’m curious to know what you think is a good show with good writing.

Sweet Tears of Joy 🇺🇲
>>136230242

I'm just not a big tv show watcher, 🤷‍♂️ never really was. Few have captured my interest. Game of thrones I would say is one but the last season really soured it for me but everything before that I enjoyed. And as corny as it is in some aspects Cobra Kai I found myself watching all the way through so there's 2 shows I've watched fully and enjoyed. The walking dead was another but my interest in that faded out real quick.

Eg

I personally think it’s Jesse’s fault for walt to miss the birth of his newborn. They are partners, they both agreed on that. Walt is the cook and everything Walt did in the last episode is supposed to be Jesse’s job, part of the distribution.

Bob
>>136206506

Agreed, but from a criminal's perspective in the drug world, I think Walts decision was justified in a way. Protect my money, protect my income at all cost, he even showed his baby girl his money and that all of this is for her, but Walt wasn't even going over to Jesse's house for the blackmail business from Jane, Remember he told Jane's dad at the bar that his "Nephew" is making bad decisions and he wishes that he could just get him to listen basically, and after that what does Walt do? Go straight over to Jesse's house because at this point. Walt cares for Jesse. I'd name more examples from the show but I don't want to post any spoilers.

Eg
>>136230242

Your handing yourself an L if your not enjoying what they put out and paying for it 🤷🏽‍♂️ they had 5 movies in the past 5 days but go on and be entitled

Sweet Tears of Joy 🇺🇲
>>136230242

How am I entitled because I said I hoped for a movie upload today? I have to like the shows they put out is that what you are saying ? Who says I'm not enjoying what they are putting out because I stated my opinion on this show? Oh right you're just trying to defend a TV show from a opinion on the internet...

Jacob

I can never not see the minecraft edit when Walt Jr. shows off his donation page 🤣

Thomas Baldwin

Walter White is truly the man you love to hate.

Jacob
>>136230242

there’s no way you just vouched for Cobra Kai after that take..

Martin
>>136219406

Lets say you wrap your body in a bomb suit, because for some reason none of your other clothes are able to keep you warm. You've explained this to your family but no one understands or believes you. You know it's dangerous, but you've been freezing for months, so you put on the suit. You do your best to put the safety switch on. You make sure you are somewhere private where the switch won't be disturbed. Then someone breaks in, and disables the safety switch. They then see the bomb is counting down, but instead of turning the safety back on, they let it explode.

Thomas Baldwin

Could you guys please watch Quigley Down Under 1990- starring Tom Selleck?

Jason Murillo

One of the most brutal episodes of the whole show.

Mark
>>136230242

Dude if you had been part of this community on Patreon as long as some of us have you would know we have watched a shit ton of movies and superhero stuff (a lot) some of us are really enjoying a deeper story and you know your trying to sour the mood. Please keep the environment positive. Some of us have waited very patiently for almost two years to see them react to Breaking Bad. All the while being supportive of everything and not shitting on other people's parade. Please just keep it positive and don't feel the need to make comments on Breaking Bad chats.

Sweet Tears of Joy 🇺🇲
>>136230242

I can speak freely and say what I want. If you don't like it move along and don't let other peoples comments about some dumb show effect you.

Alex
>>136216073

if he didn’t have to go to jesse’s house and take a while to break in and find the meth and also drive to the drop location who knows how far away that was he could’ve just drove to the hospital when he got the call and would’ve got there way earlier than he did

Alex
>>136230242

you’re gonna be even happier when it’s bb again tm😂😂 they’ve been doing 3 episodes in a row usually and i can’t wait for the next episode

Alex
>>136230242

you didn’t just say you hoped for a movie you bashed the show and basically them for releasing another reaction to it

Mark
>>136230242

Ya they'll have some great popcorn fun ready for you soon don't worry.

Yami Gandhi

guys remember this is only season 2. their arcs are only just beginning 😃

Jesse S
>>136219406

Aaron bro what’s wrong with you he literally stood there while she choke to death all he had to do was turn her on the side

DKThunder
>>136206506

hmmm. I only sort of agree with this. I don't think from a 'criminal's mind' it is justified, as there are a wide variety of criminals, many who would never want to murder. The type of criminal that Walt is however (being the one who created meth, and already making money off of a dangerous product) I can see that as being closer to the norm. (I'd also prefer using the word 'understandable' than 'justified', but that's more just my nitpicking on 'justice' being tied to morality). I however, absolutely agree with the idea that the real reason Walt let it happen was for Jesse. Possibly the only thing I see as a redeeming quality for Walt is his love for Jesse. Walt is intelligent, competant, and extremely pragmatic, and would fare better without him (at least at this point in the show). It would have been such a clean separation too. I do doubt that jane's blackmail threat was ever even something Walt seriously considered after he had already dropped off the cash. He was the one who accused her first on the phone, when she was just trying to get Walt not to keep Jesse's share from him, which from her perspective, he had no right to do. (Personally, I also don't think Walt was morally justified keeping the money from Jesse, even if I think it was the smart and compoassionate thing for Walt to do. Then again, all that money is kind of tainted due to what they do anyway, so morality in terms of who has a right to it would already be muddled 🤷)

DKThunder
>>136237423

what's especially funny is that these people think a drug addict deserves to die, but that a selfish, prideful, manipulative liar (THAT CREATES METH FOR THE STREETS, FOR THESE DRUG ADDICTS) who initially caused, then did not prevent the death of a person is justified, since he did it to protect another drug addict.

Despero Riggity

That’s not even greed at like 22:18, that’s straight up pride & ego talking

Eg
>>136230242

Hoping for another movie after they put out 5 in a row then dissing the show they currently enjoy and most of us enjoy isn’t being entitled? Wow, that’s exactly what entitled means 🤷🏽‍♂️ you feel like you deserve a movie but then get upset about it when its not your way

ThiccTurtles

Jessie and Jane are like the origin of the “skank” and ATM guy.

Uncool Ghoul
>>136237423

IKR Jane would have never fell over and choked if Walt didn't break in to the apartment and shake Jesse and then he literally choses to let her die!

Aaron Boone
>>136219406

She threatened to ruin his life a few hours before this. At that point you’re in the “it sucks to suck” territory. Sorry bout it. Dont be a drug addict and threaten people if you’re gonna need saving all the time.

Aaron Boone

Okay lemme try this again lmao. Maybe I was a touch too harsh on Jane. But here is my thought process…. We have seen that Walt is willing to kill people, manipulate, lie, and break the law in order to protect/provide for his family. Exhibit A: Crazy 8 was a potential danger to Walt’s family. He never threatened his family but there was a possibility. Now if crazy 8 would have somehow choked and died on his own I think we all would have considered that a win for Walt. Because Walt wouldn’t have to choose between killing him or trusting him. The problem solved itself…… Exhibit B: Jane has become a threat to Walter’s work and his family just the same as Crazy 8 was. Actually Jane specifically threatened Walter. So again I feel like Jane choking to death instead of Walt having to choose between trusting her and killing her is a win. The problem solved itself…… The biggest difference between these two scenarios is that crazy 8 was introduced as a bad guy and then at the end you gain a little sympathy for him. Where as Jane is introduced as a good person and then ends up being the bad guy. Still think I’m to harsh? lol

Jacob
>>136230242

saying “I can speak freely and say what I want.” Is some of the most ignorant out of touch bullshit a person can say. That line alone invalidates anything you have said or will say. Read the room mf

Uncool Ghoul
>>136358593

Walt is the "bad guy," not Jane. Just because he's the main character of the show it doesn't mean he's always the "hero" and the people who are against him are "bad guys." He murdered an innocent man's daughter who he just spoke to about family all for his own selfish reasons. If that doesn't make him the "bad guy" I dont know what does. Calling you "too harsh" is a massive understatement, your take on this is scary to say the least.

Neville L
>>136219406

this is a weird analogy considering the concept of a bomb means that the outside party is also in danger, whereas Walt was in no danger at all lol but if the person who hugged you had the code to disarm the bomb that they mistakenly armed, and they chose not to because it served their purposes, then yeah, it is at least partially their fault. That's a conscious choice, which is what this show is all about. That is what Walt is in this scenario. He could have saved her--but he didn't. No one is innocent here, including Jane.

LazyArtist

Yeah... The (essential murder) of Jane is THE turning point of the entire series, imho. We see, finally, who Walter is. An exercise in psychopathy. Many other interpretations are possible, but I stand by this one.

Yess... Cuban B

"Is New Zealand part of Australia?" is absolutely nuts 🤣🤣🤣😭 Oh Jesse, c'mon man🤦🏾‍♂️🤣

Terry

I was so excited to see your guys reaction to this episode in my opinion this is the saddest moment in Breaking Bad but there will be other really sad moments that some might argue more than this I love how in to the show you guys are
