Went to see this movie 6 times in theatres when it came out. Back when movies were good.

Girthquake23

This is one of my favorite movies and is always my example when talking about movies that needed two vhs tapes rather than one.

John McClane

Quite a bit of the movie is pretty accurate actually. The two big discrepancies is the first battle (Stirling) is actually the Stirling Bridge not in an open field. The narrow bridge was a main reason the Scottish won the battle as the English crowded the tight bridge and the Scotts killed them as they crossed. Eventually the bridge collapsed and many English soldiers drowned. The other discrepancy is the romantic relationship with Princess Isabella (she was a child in another country at the time). The execution of Wallace was actually much more brutal than the movie. The movie depicts Wallace having his stomach and chest cut... while in reality he was emasculated and disemboweled. Then they burned his bowels before him. And he was indeed beheaded and quartered. And his head was spiked atop the London bridge but it was dipped in tar first.
