I grew up in a Spanish speaking household. As such, I would watch certain movies in the Latin Spanish dub including Toy Story. I bring this up because I personally enjoy this movie in Spanish. The dub for this film is available separately on Disney Plus. When you watch both versions, it’s easy to spot a number of differences. A lot of signage that was previously in English was changed to Spanish. Gael Garcia Bernal was one of the few who got to reprise their roles in the Spanish dub. As for the role of Ernesto on that same dub, they got none other than longtime musician Marco Antonio Solis. My parents grew up with his music. Marco was also part of a soft rock band called The Bukis. They recently did a couple of sold-out reunion tours here in the States. Around this time of the year, while Disneyland has their Halloween Time Disney’s California Adventure hosts a special event inspired by this movie. It’s called La Plaza De La Familia (or Family Square). There are videos of this event on YouTube of course for anyone not able to make it, but every year they might offer a different menu. A sequel is in the works set for 2029. In the meantime, the events of this movie are being incorporated into Kingdom Hearts 4 set to drop late next year. Also, the remastered ports for prior console titles are now on the Switch 2 along with the recent rhythm title Melody of Memory. And finally, to close out this comment I wanna share a little something from my people’s culture. In Guatemala, the Day of the Dead is celebrated in a different manner. If you go to the towns of Sumpango and Santiago in the Sacatepequez department during the Day of the Dead, you’ll see families flying these colorful kites shaped like giant stop signs. The common Spanish word for kite is “cometa” which can also means comet, but these special kites are called “barriletes.” Just like the marigolds, they also serve as a means to communicate with family and friends who have passed on. They’re also meant to help ward away evil.

And for all Kingdom Hearts fans myself included, this movie is being recreated for Kingdom Hearts 4 with some of the original voice cast returning.

First time watching this since my brother and grandmother passed, it means so much watching this for the first time FROM Miguel's perspective of family not being the top thing in life, follow your dreams above all else, etc. Coming back after learning to appreciate the time with your loved ones, memories, cherishing each other, it means so much. Ty guys for posting this xo
