The Amazing Spider-Man is a full on reboot taking place in a new universe so whole new origin story etc. It's heavily inspired by The Ultimate Universe with Dr. Richard "Ray" Parker being a biologist who was working on a cure for terminal malady, in the form of a biological suit that could repair its host body. This suit turned out to be Venom. In this film he's also a scientist. Peter's Parents in the mainline comic's (Earth-616) were Secret agents with Richard (Peter's Father) being recruited into the Central Intelligence Agency by Nick Fury who you'll know from the MCU played by Sam Jackson. He then married another agent, Mary Fitzpatrick, and the two of them had a son Peter Parker. Both had a very 1960s James Bond style to them which I've always loved but they never played too much into Spider-Man's story. So Amazing Spider-Man in this aspect is more inspired by the Ultimate Universe, both versions died in a plane crash though they just had different jobs. On the topic of Gwen i think I've mentioned this in Spider-Man 3 video but she was Peter's first partner before MJ in the main 616 comic's and I believe the Ultimate universe as well. MJ may exist anyways in the Amazing Spider-Man universe as well but they no doubt wanted to move away from MJ as she was a big focus in the last films and plus Gwen like I said was Peter's first actual GF in the comics before MJ. Betty Brant is regarded as his first "Love" but Gwen is more or less closer to a girlfriend. Doctor Connors (The Lizard) actually appeared in Spider-Man 2 as well played by Dylan Baker. He was Peter's tutor at college who also helped him in Spider-Man 3 looking into Venom. In both cases Connors was missing his arm but who knows if he became the Lizard in Sam Rami's universe. The design grew on me over time i think it's the round head with the very human face while in the comic's he looked far more like a lizard in face. The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #5 was the first appearance of the Lizard very much a classic Spider-Man villain. Overall I do really like this film, Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not as good but it's got a much better Spider-Man suit. Was never too big on the Amazing Spider-Man 1 suit but it has it's fans. Amazing Spider-Man 2 does have some really great elements so it's not a bad film.

When is the spider man homecoming reaction coming out?

alex96

I need warm water because my teeth are sensitive

JESSEMLR1

Good thing you guys are watching The Amazing Spider Man films. Even tho they aren't MCU films it's important to watch now before you move on to phase 4 of the MCU. These films get so much hate. Especially the 2nd one. Which I like better than the first. Andrew Garfield did great as Peter Parker and Spider Man. Almost comic accurate.

Rigs216

Some spiders are super venomous its just most of them have such low concentrations humans don't really feel the effects but much like wasp venom some humans are super allergic

I think *most* of the hate directed at these movies is justified. Andrew Garfield is great as Spider Man/ Peter but the writing and directing is so bad that he gets weighed down by it and it kills a lot of the potential these movies had.

Simon

I don’t see the hate , I think these movies are amazing

Simon

It’s not the same story! Complete reboot

Simon

Have fun at Disney world guys ! Deserve to take a break n have fun

Simon

“Flash” is peters high school jock bully. From the comics , he even was in the Toby McGuire movies, his name is flash because it’s just a nickname for being fast on the field

TC24
>>110488943

The second one definitely gets hate which it deserves but ppl like this one

TC24

The best Spider-Man swinging scenes and action shots easily come from Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies especially compared to the MCU

Mikerober71

Hot water. The cold hurts my teeth.

Mark

Just think about it this way. It's in a different universe from Toby and Tom Holland spiderman. There are similarities but things play out completely differently and a different timeline is taking place. Tom Holland is the Spiderman from the MCU universe you guys have been watching. Each Spider Man's story plays out Completely differently like Vince said. BTW who brushes their teeth with Hot water? That's psycho Vince.

Zac Cochrane

Toby McGuire is my favorite Spider-Man, Tom Holland is my favorite Peter Parker, but Andrew Garfield is my favorite combination of them both. Wish they made the 3rd movie with him

SavageDiplomat

Great reaction as always guys. When you finish the Amazing spiderman films do you intend to check out Spiderman Into the Spiderverse? That film was really popular when it came out and for good reason. Its a great film. Im sure you would love it.

Rigs216

They rebooted it because spiderman 4 was canned since 3 was a disaster and made poor returns but their contract with marvel stipulates they have to make a spiderman related movie every X number of years to keep the rights so they kinda rushed another one out. And you can really feel it which is why Andrew only got 2 movies. My opinion is that Toby makes a great peter and bland spiderman, Andrew makes an iffy peter but excellent spiderman, and Tom is the one that encapsulates both amazingly

Trismegistus

Peter Parker was always portrayed as a nerdy kid but when he puts the suit on, becomes a lot more confident and pretty funny in his youthful cocky naivity. In Amazing Spiderman hes not really nerdy, more a cool skater Peter Parker but has a really good 'suit-on' Spiderman (a lot funnier and jokes around). The originals you watched with Toby Maguire I think had a good nerdy Peter Parker but when he wore the suit didnt change much, wasnt as cocky and funny. Then I think the new Marvel ones you'll watch play both parts really good!

Sparky Reynolds

I haven’t seen all the Spider-Man’s… but I think they are working in changing the actors as different spiderverses… I love the the miles morales spiderverse and spidergwen spiderverse

Remedybtw

Stan lee said he always wanted peters true love to be Gwen Stacy even though him and mj were a power couple

ImTorchhh

cant wait until u guys watch the xmen

Christian Hoff

Of course cold water. Who in gods good name uses hot water, sorry Vince.

Robert Quill

The first rule of watching spiderman. Do not ask, think or dream about the multiverse or you might break the multiverse.

EdEddandEddy_

Vince is outside his mind lmao hot water for brushing your teeth 😭

Mrvideotape

People have really strong feelings on the subject of water temperature, I will raise the question next time I need a subject of conversation at a dinner party

I guess I was looking at lifetime not box office. But either way they had a plan for 4 and irlt was scrapped so I guess it was the critical reception that caused then to not see the value in continuing

Joseph

In the comics, Spider-Man always invented his own web shooters. The Tobey Maguire movies are the first time they made organic webbing come out of his body. It was a big joke at first but people got used to it. And I use warm-ish water. Cold water on the teeth in the early morning can hurt if you have sensitive teeth.

Fawks

Just wanna say, you guys are great for following whoever it was's recc to watch all these before the Holland Spidey movies. It pays off to know all about the character beforehand.

Simon
>>110526396

That’s not true , there are many comics even cartoons where they came out of him

Simon

The guy In the after credits was not connors inner self btw! It was a completely different person

Simon
>>110488943

The second one is even better 💀 what are you people talking about💀

Ruben rapa

Qwen Stacy was always a better love interest for Peter than Mary Jane

Mitchell Smilie

Andrew Garfield is a great actor that genuinely seemed to enjoy the character. He's great. But there's just not much to the story, and the villains in both films aren't very good. It should be easy to make homeruns with a character as popular as Spider-Man, but Sony proves, between their interference with Sam Raimi in Spider-Man 3 and the amateurish results of these two films, that they're not very good at making these movies. Marvel isn't immune to criticism either (particularly in the post-Infinity Saga era), but I much prefer their involvement with Spider-Man moving forward.

Zachary Beverly

Y’all should react to Chronicle (2012)

Wesley

all spiders are venomous, some venoms are more harmful to the human body than others

TROID
>>110526396

Yes but originally in his first origin story he used mechanical webbing

MachhJuann
>>110488943

You’re most likely young or new to the Spider-Man movies if you think this way. They’re not terrible movies but as someone who experienced them in theaters, the opinion on the direction of these movies was VERY universal. I remember mostly everyone being pretty disappointed with these.

Fawks

In America you only have to not get bit by the Brown Recluse or the Black Widow. As far as I know, those are the only ones that might get you a hospital visit and you really have to be in some stuff you shouldn't be to find one.

Quan Cauley

We still say game 😂😂😭😭 idk bout riz

Jamal Robinson

idk if it’s just me, but this reaction along with other ones don’t play anymore, says something with the privacy settings

Phil Daniels

First of all, only demons who escaped hell use cold water when they brush. Like ppl who order water but make sure it's really just a glass of ice🤣🤣🤣 Literal. DEEEEMONS🤣🤣😭😭I use warmish hot water when I brush, cos, ya know. Regular human person over here hahaha Psychopaths lmao🤣🤣🤣goddamn Shoshana And Vince, from what I hear it's the size of the spider that also plays a role in how damaging the bite may be. Tinier spiders don't have the fang size or bite strength to break through enough layers of skin to be anything more than an irritant. There are some ultra dangerous small one, you just gotta be on the look out for the lethal/dangerous ones--Black Widows and Brown Recluses n such.
