Vince is correct - Mrs. Chen was not in Shang Chi. The Venom movies do not take place in the MCU. They are completely separate. So seeing Spider-Man on TV is very strange and it blew everyone’s minds at the time.

They do have a Venom 3 in the works btw. Release date is unknown but it was in active development before the strikes began a few months ago :)

I thought this movie was fine, but as somebody who read the Carnage storyline in the comics as a kid, I just wasn't really as impressed by this take on it. I actually enjoyed the original Venom movie more.

The Venom universe is completely separate from the MCU which is why this post credit scene really blew everybody's Minds for him to see Spider-Man on the tv. You'll figure out what's up in no way home.

It was not a blip. I could see why you'd think that because you guys just saw something very similar with Yelena in Hawkeye, but it was not a blip. Keep it in mind for the next Spider-Man film and it'll be obvious what happened to them.

Venom did not get blipped ! Hes in a different universe so the blip wouldn’t have effected him, this is something else

I don’t know if you’re gonna see this in time, but PLEASE DO NOT watch the “more fun stuff” version of No Way Home. That version opens up with a message from Tom Holland and other cast members and it’s a COLOSSAL spoiler for what’s to come in the movie.

Don't watch the "More Fun Stuff" version. It is an extended version of "No Way Home" but as another comment said: It has an introduction/greeting with important actors for the plot and they are major spoilers.

No Way Home was mid to me. It was a fun movie for the real Spider-Man fans, but didn't really have much to do with the MCU moving forward.

They did drop the ball with this one... It was entertaining, and Venom as a character is always fun to see... but Carnage is such a LARGE enemy of Venom's in the comics and such a significant threat that they really didn't do the character Justice.

It’s such a shame too - because the extended edition actually adds a LOT of cool dialogue and moments. But that fuckin spoiler opening ruins everything.

Completely agree with you. As much as i like Woody Harrelson i didnt think this role suited him at all. He had nowhere near the psychotic character of Cletus Cassidy. Definitely a forgettable performance.

Little detail but Shriek is actually a Mutant in the comics, they even bring up that she got her powers from a Mutation in this film. These films are not set in the MCU though (officially set on Earth-688) so we've yet to see mention of Mutants in the mainline MCU but as of 2019 Marvel own the X-Men rights so it's a matter of time. Also yeah I really do love these Venom films but they very much seem to be walking backwards in relation to the comics events. For example in the comics Peter Parker gets the symbiote suit and later gets it removed by a church bell leading to Venom landing on Eddie, pretty much the scene from Spider-Man 3 (2007) which was a perfect re-creation of the comic event. Then Venom and Spider-Man fight for a while and then Venom and Eddie become the "Lethal Protector" moving to the West Coast away from New York and becoming an Anti Hero. But in the film Spider-Man has never been introduced, Eddie get's Venom first, they become the Lethal Protector and now there interested in Spider-Man. Pretty interesting spin on the timeframe of the character and took us Venom fans a while to get used to an origin with no Spider-Man, reason why Venom does not have the iconic white Spider-Man Logo on his chest.

They've yet to watch Ms. Marvel so I'm speaking from the pov as if I've yet to see any future MCU film or show as well. I know what's to come but I left those out for spoiler reasons.
