Hey Rangers, so people have been asking us to make movie suggestions more genre specific. So, comment down below the best way that you feel like we could implement a specific genre-based suggestion/movie poll. Topmost liked comment will be implemented on the next following week suggestion/movie poll. Also, we will still do an all genre-based suggestion/movie poll at least once or twice a month still. Just because it's a metric we use to decide what movie goes over to YouTube. Once more we just ask that you guys try and stay as positive as possible down in the comments🙏 We would really appreciate it. Love you guys❤️

*ALSO, WE WILL BE WATCHING THE BOYS AS WELL ALONG SIDE BREAKING BAD, SO SPREAD THE WORD*

I'd say each week of the month switch it up, keep everyone happy. Drama Horror/Thriller Comedy Action/Adventure Sci-Fi/Fantasy Animation/Family Musicals/Classics/Westerns (Edited to add a couple categories others suggested) My only issue with doing a poll for genre and then a poll for the movie in that genre is that we'd still end up in only comedy and action territory every week probably.

Simon

But you can categorize it by comedies, actions, animations , thrillers etc.

Carlie Cirillo

so all we are sharing here is genres of movies, not movie suggestions right?

Sujan Ra

A few good men (1992)

Jayeeze

Warrior 2011

Alex

genres like animation , comedy, sci fi, trillers , action , horror , etc could rotate the order every week/ month like do animated suggestions one poll and comedy the next movie poll or you could do a poll of all the genres and see which genre people want then after make a poll of movies within that specific genre

Kernaisha Gaines

Comedies Animated (family) Horror Action Franchises (maze runner, hunger games etc) Long tv shows (more than 3 seasons) Short tv shows That way maybe you guys can rotate the polls and see a lot of different types of movies/shows more evenly?

This it right here just change the genre on polls every week animation could have its own category but like you said animation could fit in any of those categories

yess making a poll with all the genres and having us decide what genre movies to suggest that way is also another great idea!

Thank you! I definitely think it’ll help to have a slow burn like breaking bad and the quick intense shows like squid game without having to compete with each other

Good to hear you’re planning on watching The Boys too! On the genre subject, i reckon popular IMDB moviegenres might help make things easier (https://m.imdb.com/feature/genre/). A poll for genre, then a poll for genre suggestions. For TV shows, as others have suggested, these can be split into long/short TV shows.

Bridge

You could put a bunch of genres in a poll and whichever genre wins, that would decide what movies we should suggest. Then the next week/month take out the winning genre from the previous week/month just keep going with the remaining genres until you go through them all.

Qbeezy

Sci fi

David

How about each week a poll of the top voted of each category? So 1 action, comedy, drama, horror, animated. And any more you want to add.

Jrock

Genres and then pick the most liked from each. Let people comment genre-movie name and then decide from there. Comedy, action, Drama, Romance, animation, thriller, etc. also for movies that have multiple dramas just have people narrow it down to what’s most prominent

Alex
>>131927325

i thought of something similar but like how you added removing that genre until you get to the final genre

Chanceee1k

My suggestion would be on Sundays instead of posting film suggestions you guys should post 3-5 different genres on a poll and then based off which one that wins you guys can put the next movies on the poll that you guys see fit !!!!

Chanceee1k
>>131927419

Or if anybody has any better ideas similar to mine ! It’s just a thought !!!

DaftBasterd

One poll to decide the genre, then a poll with top picks in that genre, and when the next poll rolls around, exclude the winning genre from that poll for the month to give others a chance!

Carter Rowe

Revenge movies. I recommend the count of monte cristo

Mark B
>>131926655

That sound ok but put animation/kid movies as its own genre

Mark B

No vote on genre, just have the genre on rotation every week or month and vote on the movie within that genre

Prince Zay

Vote on the genre and everytime a genre gets picked take it out the next poll until each genre has been chosen??

Aldo Gonzales

I wouldn’t worry too much about genre. As long as the movies we suggest have positive feedback, I feel like you’ll enjoy them as well. If anything though, I would advise watching an occasional western film. Those aren’t very common anymore, and some of them are classics worth checking out.

Mark

I would just say switch the Genre every time. Then we vote on the movies and go from there. Simple and easy.

MmKay

You should definitely just pick a genre on your own and put movies in that genre in a poll. Leaving the genre up to us is chaotic lmao Plus it's not like we'll know which movies would get put into the poll based on genre alone

Josh Peters
>>131926655

I dig some musicals for sure. Never got into many westerns, but the solution should be to please all subscribers, even if only occasionally for certain things like that.

Dayvon148
>>131927325

So basically we vote on a poll what genre to do then next poll it’ll only be films/projects on that genre? That’s also a good idea

Dayvon148

As far as the shows go you guys should have a long show and a short show going on at the same time and after each show the next show should be different genre I guess that’s something we could figure out in a poll if that makes sense

Bridge
>>131927325

yeah. Then just remove that genre for the next poll so that every genre will get a chance. There's probably a better way of doing it but it was the first thought that came to my head.

lily g

maybe every week we vote on a genre and the top most like comments get into a poll? it feel like it would be fun to vote on a genre every week, and then revote the next week

lily g
>>131931348

and whatever genre wins do another poll for movies of that genre?

GrammaGhost

I suggested themed polls and I think that is the way to go. Ideally you could get even more broad with a few other ideas. Standard (Live Action unless specified) - Action, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Family, Animation, Foreign During the Awards month maybe do best picture nominees from current year and winners from previous years. During October maybe double dip on horror movies? 2nd Chance Poll - Movies that never made the cut from the past and people really want you to see but are concerned they may get overlooked again.

GrammaGhost
>>131931348

My only concern with that is again a lot of people seem to gravitate towards animation or comedy so if we vote every week on the genre then I think whatever genre wins cant be voted on again for the rest of the month.

Hector Avila

I would say, you decide the schedule, for example: Week 1 = Horror Week 2 = Comedy Week 3 = Action Week 4 = Drama Week 5 = Animated/Cartoon Something like that in whatever order you like and then restart when you cover all the genres you feel you want to cover. You can do that for the most commonly requested genres and then do one for like all the lesser requested genres combined, like western, musicals, etc, those can all be combined on one poll.

Hector Avila

And you guys always do your best to listen to us, so, I really appreciate ya'll for it! 💪

lily g
>>131931348

yeah thats a good idea!! or maybe not the whole month but not twice in a row

Rowan
>>131926655

I have another to add in. Horror and Thriller can be two very different animals. I see horror as more Rob Zombie/slasher/gore. Thrillers can also be horror but then you have psychological Thrillers or Mind Fuckery. That can be done with almost any genre though.

imperial

I think YOU guys should pick the genre on your own, and WE suggest the movies. No need for us to vote on the genre first. Because then the same genres will always win. You should also do specific decades once in a while. “Favorite 90s movies” would give tons of great suggestions that don’t normally win in general polls.

Rowan

I think one thing that would be really helpful is if we could have some hard and soft limits. It will give all of us an easier way of choosing (examples below). Plus, do you guys have a list of what you've already done that can be added to every poll via a Google document link or something similar or even a way to knock down the mass repeats? That would take more man power but it can get upwards 400 ideas per post and you're only supposed to place a like on one vs liking every single one, which unfortunately isn't done because I don't think people are reading. That can be something easily taken care of by carefully wording posts so that everyone can understand them, then the trickle down would be caught before it bursts into that 400 realm hardly anyone wants to look through. For instance, Game of Thrones. You've already done at least 3 seasons and stopped that I could tell. As it's unfortunately not in order. Would that be a hard limit/no to restarting as MANY have requested it in the last couple polls since I've been here? The other major hard limit I've seen since being here is no to snakes. Then we have The Boys (btw, you guys rock for doing both), I think that one would be a soft limit type situation. Meaning one of you tried it but you're willing to try again if we request it enough. That can be x amount of requests that's personal to you guys only that no one else needs to know. No matter what this is both of your journeys, we're just along for the ride with requests and reactions. Regardless, not everyone can be made happy. That'd be really lovely, but inevitably an impossibility. We all need that Kumbaya moment. 😂 If you need assistance you have some AWESOME people here already trying to help on requests. I am willing to help if you'd like my input. I do have ideas we could talk about privately or in a private chat with whomever else you choose so everyone can weigh in while also being kept in the loop. I'm sorry for the novella I just had a lot of ideas running through my head to make it easier for all and I have more still percolating in there. I think I'm in what feels like a minority of older peeps. I'm sure we of the more mature persuasion are going to be helpful. I'm not dissing those younger because all of you are intelligent, helpful to the Squad, just saying us older folk have hopefully more hands on knowledge as it should be. The day I stop learning is the day I take my last breath. Oh, also someone with an editing and writing background to help get the initial request posts in, hopefully, a more structured layout. NOT because yours are not well written, more to make sure all are on the same page. I have a feeling we all have great ideas on this as well, feel free to add? It will make this whole process much easier in the end.
