0.15 Progress Report — Week 3 (Patreon)

Last week I mentioned a character you haven't spent much time with outside the Club.

His name is...

Nate.

You know him from the Prologue. He brought Claire to Manila and gave her the first marching orders before Alice appeared.

Maybe you've played the Jungle Recon mission. v0.15 begins asking what happens when the professional becomes personal. Who's the asset? Is it an op? Is there a line that Claire shouldn't cross?

The Flirtation-as-Tradecraft arc — an emotional spine of Act I — is in active composition. I'm not going to spoil the shape of it, but I will say this: most, if not all players, will at least touch on this and the deeper question of: 'who really is Nate?'

WHAT ELSE IS NEW THIS WEEK

The Prologue proof and clean continues to chew through the oldest content in the game. I've now completed roughly two-thirds of the pass. The sections getting edited now are the meatiest ones: the Gang vignettes, the Volunteer arc, the Partier sequence (which ran to over 1,200 lines and took five editing passes to get right). Every cluster gets the same treatment: writing tightened, pacing improved, body-language clichés stripped, newer systems retroactively woven in, architectural bugs caught and fixed. The game's first impression is getting closer to matching everything that comes after it.

WHAT'S BUILDING

The honeypot target vote is live. As of this post, Peaches and Jacob are leading the pack. If you haven't voted yet, now's the time — whoever wins gets a full arc in v0.15. We're three weeks out from the v0.15 release. Nine content additions. Two already complete (Super Senior, equipment carry system). More in various stages of composition. Next week I'll start pulling back the curtain on what's coming.
