Speaking of cookies... (Patreon)

Don't ask me how, but the Cookie Song ended up being the centerpiece of my 4th attempt at You Make My Heart Go Brrrt.And so far...I do like it. It's shorter than the others, is more interesting from a lyrical perspective, more lyrically focused, and more consistent in genre. Not that genre-bending mid-song isn't a lot of fun to do, but it wasn't working with this song.It starts off very strong. Not as strong as v2 (or was it three? I've lost track at this point), but it's harder than v1. And, just, from a technical perspective, it's the best of the four by a very wide margin. I know y'all are always telling me that the flavor is more important than the technical parts, but as an artist, I need to seek that perfection. That growth. That sense of accomplishment from perfect execution, and this version does it. I'm really, really, really loving it so far and it came to me in a flash of lightning, courtesy of the muses, as all my best pieces do.I considered posting what I have so far, but I wanna see if I can elevate it. So tomorrow (or the next day, if I don't get distracted by Ghosts of Tsushima again), I'll be working on adding the finishing salt to it . . . is that what I'm calling it? "Finishing salt?" It fits. I'm keeping it.ANYWAY.Yeah, I think you're all gonna like it. It's probably the most quintessentially hyperpop of all my songs ever, and doesn't do anything particularly adventurous, but ~ooooooo~ the execution is just really good and I'm quite proud of it.
