_It's Done

Hope ya'll like it ^_^

Forward

You do not make Pig's Blood Stew because it tastes good. You make it because your children are hungry. You make it in the deep winter, when the frost has taken everything else.

In the old country, the pig was a savings account. It was heat. It was leather. It was a year of meals, and when the time came, the killing was a solemn thing.

The blood was caught in a clean basin. You had to keep it stirring with your hand, your fingers moving through the warm, metallic liquid, to keep it from clotting. This was the first rule: you must participate in the blood. You cannot be a spectator.

Then, the rendering. The parts the rich men in the cities would turn up their noses at. The snout, the ears, the tail, the heart. The tough, gristly things that required patience and fire to become tender. You would boil them for hours with an onion and a handful of barley, something to give body, to stretch the miracle.

Only then, when the broth was rich and the meat was falling apart, would you temper the blood. You'd take a ladle of the hot broth and slowly, slowly, stream it into the basin, stirring constantly, waking the blood to the heat without letting it scramble. This was the most delicate part. The moment of transformation. If you rushed, it would curdle into useless grit. If you were patient, it would incorporate, turning the broth dark. Silken.

Finally, you would pour the tempered blood back into the big iron pot, where it would thicken the entire stew into something that could stick to your bones and see you through the long, dark months.

This did not taste good unless you were hungry. This was a recipe for continuity. It was a promise that from a single, brutal necessity, an entire family could be sustained.

And that is what this song is.

We are taking the parts of this system they have thrown away, and we are using everything. We are stirring the blood ourselves. We are tempering our rage with the heat of our collective purpose. We will not go hungry.

We are not inventing something new. We are remembering something old. We are making a feast from the slaughter, just like our ancestors did.

We are making Pig's Blood Stew.

New Lyrics

[Intro]Civil criminalDo the minimal got a visual it's visceral cuz someone left it tarnishedWe must wear our armor cuz democracy was varnishedI don't need a license when the people want our violence

[Verse 1]My delivery is lyrical, your position's mythicalSinking oh so listless, it is cynical, politicalThe initial miracle is now a pinnacle of pitifulScreaming at the pinnacle, we are indivisible so theyNeed to dim the visible, make the issue inadmissibleBut the mission is a missile and our specialty is spectacle

[Verse 2]We break from the monarchy, digitally and solemnlyNo apologies, please, my philosophy is honestyWatching all the quality get lost in the commoditySo we will strike them generally, completely, and violently

[Pre-Chorus]We can make them fear us butKilling Gods ain't free

[Chorus 1]This is not the second Reich, it's a second RevolutionWe'll kill their ideas because their Thought became pollutionThere are many, many of us and we will learn to takeWe will eat the rich and put their billions in our bank

[Chorus 2]This is not the second Reich, it's a second RevolutionWe're writing our own rules because they torched our ConstitutionThe page is blank and hungry, and the ink we have is blueThe only proper recipe is Pig's Blood Stew.

[Bridge]So gather 'round the fire, the one they never tendedBring your hollow stomachs, the long and un-amendedWe'll take their silver tongues, their golden, cold excusesSimmer down their legacy 'til it loses all its uses

[Final Bridge]We'll season it with memory of every stolen rightAnd feed the ghost of winter that kept us in the nightThis feast is not for vengeance, though vengeance may be sweetIt's the first meal of the harvest, for the peopleNow, eat

[Outro]So bring your hollow stomachs, your fury, and your breadWe'll ladle out the judgment, the living and the deadThis communion is compulsory, this sacrament is newWe are all each served a portion of this Pig's Blood Stew

Old Lyrics

Still working on the title, but this is a reference to Kill the Poor by Dead Kennedys, so I'm probably gonna' keep it.

[Verse 1]Civil criminalDo the minimalGot a visual, it's visceral procedurally tarnishedBullets in the armor cuz democracy was varnishedI don't need a license when the people want our violence

[Verse 2]My delivery is lyrical, your position's mythicalSinking in a system that is cynical, politicalThe initial miracle is now a pinnacle of pitifulScreaming at the pinnacle, we are indivisible so theNeed to dim the visible, make the issue inadmissibleBut the mission is a missile, it is terminal and practical

[Break]Watch them brace for our spectacle.

[Bridge]We break from the monarchy, digitally and solemnlyNo apologies, please, my philosophy is honestyWatching all the quality get lost in the commoditySo we will strike them generally, completely, and violently

[Pre-chorus]So we cut 'em at the knees and let them bleed, seeStarving the poor ain't pious, noIt's just a different kind of greedThey replaced our gods with lies they couldn't feedWe will make them fear us butKilling gods ain't free.

[Chorus]This is not the second Reich, it's a second RevolutionWe'll kill their ideas because their Thought became pollutionThere are many, many of us and we will learn to takeWe will eat the rich and put their billions in our bank

Those last two lines go so damn hard.

Ben Welch

Now thatโ€™s the good kind of spicy. There are some points where the rhyme scheme feels a bit weird? But I canโ€™t really put my finger on it. Itโ€™s entirely possible it will go away completely with music.

I've been thinking a lot about dragons and how their greed ruins everything they touch or even just go near. and its got a lot more to do with the times we are living through then it does the fact i re-read the hobbit recently

Kai Lighthawk

Wow this is good! Again, like a different vibe that still feels like you just... progressing and pushing yourself more. Love it! As a separate question, any reason a lot of your newer stuff isn't over on Tidal? I have been trying to move over to it from Spotify and would love to listen to you there too.

Charli Morgan

Thank you ^_^ I've never heard of Tidal. If DistroKid doesn't offer it, then it won't go there, sorry.๐Ÿ™

Charli Morgan

Okay, I looked it up and my music *should* be in Tidal.

Ever since this song came out it has me in a chokehold and pinned against the wall making sure I understand and enjoy every sound and lyrics and GOD sometimes I don't realize I played this song for about an hour.

I wanted to write a song like this since listening the Guillotine by The Coup. I'm very flattered to hear your reaction was the same as I had to their song. ๐Ÿค
