I haven't mentioned this here at all, but about 2 years ago I started playing Genshin Impact for research purposes, cut to today and now I'm in love with Shenhe lmao

LONG VERSION: when I say research purposes, I mean that I was using it as inspiration for a chapter in Leslie and Bolero's adventures. They go to a place that I refer to as "Fantasy Europe Land" where everything is super clean and semi-modern despite being in the 1500s, and I used fantasy anime gacha games as inspiration cus thats the idea I wanted to model it after. Genshin was the perfect example so I wanted to play and see what other unfitting fantasy elements I could work off of. Good news is that now i have PLENTY of ideas to work with, bad news is that now I'm addicted to playing the game, I wanna earn more Primogems to gamble on new characters, and I have a waifu that I'm willing to buy merch of, so .... there's that

Anyway, there's a lot of pretty ladies in Genshin, but Shenhe stood out to me for some reason. First time I did multiplayer with some strangers, somebody showed up as Shenhe and I said "omg you're so prettyyyy <3 " like I'm talking to THE Shenhe lmao. Eventually I got to play her portion of the game and I realized I enjoy her personality as well, she reminds me a lot of Garnet from Steven Universe; stoic, out of touch, and strong as hell, so maybe thats why I enjoy her so much.

She's also got quite the bod so I kinda wanna see more of her, so I might end up drawing her from time to time. This piece was mainly for me to see what's under that chest piece; there's no cutout for her cleavage, but I'll implement that in my future drawings if I do her again

Long story short: nobody asked for this, this is a totally self-indulgent piece, and I had fun

I might draw Beidou, Ningguang, Ganyu, or any of the other cuties at some point too, if y'all are interested to see lemme know

Ah Shenhe, the "chilled" but only just icy lady. One of my personal fav characters is Jean... amongst others but Jean is my top lady. As for if you want to draw other genshin ladies... I'm not stopping you. :)

yeah i might make time for Beidou soon, I just got some new missions with her recently and I was reminded of how hot she is, so she'll probably be my next little project lol

honestly I'm still wondering if/how I'm supposed to get Jean to join my team, I've been led to understand that she would join early on in the game but its been ages now and she only shows up occasionally. she was also the inspiration for Aurianna's design in Leslie and Bolero's story, so I've had my eye on Jean for a while now too

currently the only way to recruit her is by pulling on the banners, and unless they have a limited banner with Jean as a higher rate it's basically a dice roll. In my experience she seems to be slightly easier to get as a 'failed 50-50' on the limited banners compared to the permanent banner but it's still a small chance. 🫤

Actually, Jean isn't a character that is going to appear on a banner outside of the standard one. She's considered, by the gacha system, to be one of the standard 5 stars in the game which means how you get her is rolling on the standard banner until you get a 5 star drop, which is rng, or rolling on a character banner, getting the 5 star drop and in effect losing the 50/50, losing the 50/50 is slang for losing the coin flip and getting a standard 5 star character over the character for the character banner. Though losing the 50/50 means that the next time you pull on the character banner and get a 5 star it will be the character for the character banner you get. Catch being the standard 5 stars is a list of 7 characters only one of which is Jean so it's a fair bit of RNG but play enough and by the law of numbers you'll get her. Unless RNG just really really hates your guts. Though I think there was event a bit back when Natlan dropped during the anniversary that in which players could have selected any of the standard 5 stars get her there, but I think that event was just for the anniversary and is likely no longer around. As for Jean herself Shes kinda a little of everything role wise, can put out decent damage, provides healing and even crowd control as her elemental skill sucks of smaller mobs into effectively a ball of air and then tosses them up in the air where you are pointing and to where they can take fall damage. Potent enough to the point it's actually a cheese tactic against an otherwise very difficult world boss... that is the spirit of a capybara that hits like a truck.... and taunts you with a booty dance. I have her and love her alongside a team with Furina, Navia and Arlecchino where she's the burst healer and backup dps in case Arlecchino dies... which is highly possible since Arlecchino does her best when low at hp but allows her to hit the hardest so a balancing act.
