Hey y'all, sorry I left some of you guys hanging for a bit. I've mentioned here and there that stuff has been changing for me, but I never got around to making a formal blanket post about it to make sure everyone knows, so I wanted to take care of that now.

So I've been kinda slowing down with the production of my art for a bit, I kinda started having burnout maybe 2 years ago but I tried to push through it anyway ...and I thought that'd be the only thing to deal with, but other factors have kinda come in to change that

  • desire/lack of time to work on my own personal projects in favor of monthly comms

  • Genshin Impact suddenly becomes extremely appealing, despite me shitting on it for the last 2 years, and now its taking over my life

  • my uncle's funeral in November (inadvertently causing me to take more comms to pay for the costs) ((this isn't your fault, Uncle George, I hope you know we all love you <3))

  • both Twitter accounts got hacked, made me fear that all my content since 2016 would be gone forever, puts a dent in my inspiration

  • planning a trip with the boys for a shared bachelor party (that took a bit of time from art work but I feel like we needed that)

  • work demanding more of my time and draining any hope I had of finding a better job

  • relationship troubles coming in here and there, occasionally taking a backseat to more pressing matters that require therapy

  • got FIRED for the first time in my life and was unemployed for the last month (I parked at Starbucks for too long, its a long story)

  • more focus on constant job applications, less time to focus on art

  • Twitter suddenly gets returned to me 3 months later?? (only NSFW though)

  • ..eventually a new job comes up, now I work in sales (yay?)

  • still currently in week 1 so I need to see how this plays out so that A) I can decide if I wanna keep this, and B) so I can work around my available free time in order to complete the art things I owe people

SO yeah ... the biggest changes have been that I got fired for the first time, spent a whole month being unemployed, and now all of a sudden I got hired for a sales-type job. I'm a little skeptical about how this schedule is gonna work for me in order to do art in between stuff, cus it feels like if I barely had time before, I may have less time now... either that or I gotta learn how to adjust myself

That being said, this position is a great opportunity to earn some real money, and I'm hoping that makes most of these issues easier in the long run, and perhaps open the door to some other things as well, perhaps even give myself time to draw more regularly again

I also wanna apologize to anyone who's waited for commissions and requests for a very long time. Not just to current customers, but to those in the past who have also waited. I used to be so good at doing 5 big drawings a month, but since 2020 its gotten more difficult to maintain that quota, and now a lot of you have ended up waiting on me longer than need be.

I still want art to be the thing I do for a living, its just gotten difficult to work towards that in the last 5 years, or 10 in general really.. but with new opportunities comes new doors to be opened, so I'm gonna go into this with the mindset that things can get better, and that maybe there's a way to get there.

But yeah I just wanted to give you guys an update on things, no need to worry too much. Y'all have things going on for yourselves and I get that, so I hope for you too that things improve as well

we'll all get through it together :thumbsupemoji:

Through these trying times, for whatever it's worth, I wish you the best with the new job and the strength to over come the difficulties of this life. Your creative works are an inspiration, the least I can do is send you kinda words in these trying times; much love to you and yours, and thank you for everything you do!

RANDOM LITTLE UPDATE: I had a shitty 3rd day at work, bad enough that I made the tough call to actually QUIT, then I talk to a coworker about some crazy shit that went down after I left, and now because of my trainer getting fired, the manager calls to offer me my job again . o . this is like a sign or something, right??
