I suppose the anecdote about the squirrels is supposed to be a sort of tongue twister situation! Since they mention Popo, Poppy, Paopa, and their Papa (who's on a diet)!! I do enjoy the simpler episodes as well!! This one in particular is quite memorable to me because it's a time when Goku gets to experience being a part of a family!! Which isn't really something he ever got to have before! Popo was quite wise to focus on teaching Goku about other aspects of life and martial arts beyond just fighting! I really agree with Madison that it's great Goku gets to meet so many kind people throughout the world! I'm sure he thinks about all of them every time he fights to protect his home! Madison's commentary on the show is always so insightful!

Actually this machine was used to transfer Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, and Chaoutzu to the sayain planet while they trained at Kami's.

Goku was 12 at the 21st tournament, 15 at the 22nd. Means he’ll be 18 at the next one.

I'm pretty sure Goku is 15 because in the first tournament he said Bulma taught him how to count so he was actually 12, one year older than Krillin, and the tournament with Tien was 3 years after.

this episode was all about peace of mind to help him relax so he could meditate and use him censes like feeling the fish before they bite and the family was all names after foods the dad's name is Mousse the wife's name Eclair the kids names Cupcake, Pudding, Donuts, Jelly, Jam, Creampuff, Cocoa, Cookie, and Crepe just put chocolate before some there names

It's weird though. I just double checked the pendulum room episode. Popo says it is the one Goku used, but the one in Z looks different.

Goku is actually 15 or 16 remember he said at the first tournament he was 13 so three years later he supposed to be either 15 or 16

The kids remind me a little bit of the orphans Gohan spent time with after escaping the island Piccolo left him on during training.

SPOILER ALERT!!!DRAGON BALL DAIMA!!! DBZ!!! this makes so much sense now, the space and time machine that Mr Popo uses in dragon ball is similar to the space and time bobbity used against the Z-Fighters for each match before Majin buu was awakened. It makes sense now that we know everyone came from the demon Realm. It's all demon Realm technology.

I don't know if you saw my comment in the other video but the "space and time machine" was in Z. It was used in a filler during the Saiyan saga. The machine itself is filler even in dragon ball. All of these training episodes are mixed canon/filler

The Hype

Another great filler episode. The crew find out that they need to train more like Goku. Yamcha and Kuririn are way behind, since Goku outgrew their type of training, since the Red Ribbon arc, and they're now starting to do what Goku's been doing the whole time. I also really love the Sound of Music like family that Goku hangs with for a while.
