I know Suzuki was supposed to be a joke of a fighter, obviously since he’s literally a clown, but the way they hyped him up at the start as Onji, and then into his real form with him throwing the card and killing a demon, using an energy blast, then blasting Genkai across the arena with that rainbow looking attack, and along with pumping up his muscles like Toguro, made me wish he wasn’t a joke of a character/fighter. It would have been cool if it was a close fight between him and Genkai, and maybe ending with a spirit energy beam struggle at the end. Idk, feels like a wasted character and a “what could have been” fight

Just something to remember, out of all the demons in the Dark Tournament so far, the "beautiful" Suzuki is one of the few who wasn't killed like the others we saw earlier in the episode...

side note here, i always wondered if Onji was a corruption/mistranslation of the word Ojiisan, which roughly means old man in Japanese

Maybe cause this is like my 12th time watching the dark tournament, but I can understand every word Jin says 🤣

You're correct Baris - Suzuki, just like the car. So much so in fact that when YYH was first dubbed by Funimation they were concerned about using the trademarked name. When the show first aired, and if you're lucky enough to have an older copy of a home release, his name was changed to Suzuka. Shortly after, they discovered that the use of the name Suzuki wouldn't be an issue, and redubbed the scenes using his original name that Togashi gave him, Suzuki.
