Gohan is weaker than buu remember he stated before he's not at the same power as he was against cell or buu all he can do is ssj2 and that's it he's training to get his ultimate form back but he's having trouble

Technically everyone here is at the very least stronger than Buu saga level characters naturally. But Gohan still can't use his ultimate form so his potential is limited. Buu himself for whatever reason just naturally gets stronger every time he fights. So he is probably god level at this point. Not blue but god.

I would put gohan around the realm of ssj3 during the buu saga. I say that bc he’s against lavender, he saw buu when he’s serious and didn’t flinch.

No Gohan doesn’t currently have ultimate form, he regains it after training with piccolo. Not sure why he says he’s stronger than ever because he’s not lol. Majin buu should be stronger than him atm.

No Gohan is more powerful than ssj3, it was stated that Ultimate Gohan was the strongest during the Buu saga. But since this is DBS, Gohan is weaker now, weaker than the good Buu

Gohan might've said he's stronger than ever but thats part true since he doesn't have much trouble going into ssj and ssj2 like he used to because during the resurrection of F, Gohan wasn't sure if he was still able to go ssj let alone ssj2. So he started training again and his body is still trying to get accustom to fighting again

This ep proofs that Majin Buu was a big threat during that saga. Goku and friends got lucky how it all turn out in the end.

Gohan has absolutely been training a bit more in secret, and it seems like the show even tries to hide that from us. He doesn't have his full potential unlocked right now, but if he says he's stronger than ever, both he and Goku are well aware of what his power used to be, so that'd be a dumb lie if not true.

Gohan's Ultimate form is a transformation, so just because he has black hair doesn't mean he's in that Ultimate form. You can see this in the Super Hero movie where he transforms from Normal to Super Saiyan to Ultimate.

It’s tough with Gohan man because the writers are cosmically inconsistent with his story. At the end of the black arc you see Gohan exhausted from training with Piccolo again but then between then and the expo he’s back to the “given up fighting” crap and then trains again and in the super hero movie he’s back to the “I don’t fight” crap again. It’s a mess and a disservice to Gohan 🤦🏽‍♂️ Granted this expo isn’t in the manga so it’s more so a flop of the anime I’d guess. In the manga the expo is between all 12 destroyers and they gang up on Beerus who is the pariah of the 12. But in the anime they make Goku the “bad guy” here.

Basil would've been a problem during the buu saga if he appeared back then. He put up a better fight than Majin Vegeta against Fat Buu. Basil is Buu Saga SSJ2 tier at worst. I don't know if he is at Tagoma's level though.

This Gohan in this specific arc/episode isn’t stronger than majin buu because this is the gohan that wasn’t post training with piccolo and he had also lost his mystic form, so to answer your question, this Gohan only maxed out at ss2 and it’s not strong enough to beat buu.

Buu wasnt training that much. Back then he already leveled with SSJ3 Goku. After all those years he is prob a bit stronger now so above SSJ3 Goku back then. id say thats plenty enough for most of the fighters

Yea after rewatching with these guys I noticed at the end of future trunks arc where he shows up to say bye to trunks he’s sweating and seems exhausted so I assume he still trains but just not as vigorous as he did before the tournament. He clearly stated after golden frieza that he wanted to be strong in order to protect his family but he also has his own job and stuff so it makes sense he doesn’t have time to train like goku does

Buu sticking around as a good guy post DBZ is one of the best writing decisions they could've made 😂
