Good evening folks. Once again I can only apologise for how long this project of mine is taking. We're on the 8th week and definitely in the final stages. But holy hell I'll be looking forward to getting it finished.

Thank you for being so patient with me. I appreciate it greatly. I need to do a ton of comedy stuff after this to balance things out.

Right now, the whole video is going through quality assurance work. Meaning it's edited end-to-end. And it's just a case of watching it through, making long lists of tiny fixes and then working through them in batches.

By this afternoon (second day) I was able to get through the first 10 minutes. It's about 48 minutes in total. So I'm steadily chopping through it.

As always, quality assurance is to weed out all the little things you don't notice until you watch it all through. Stuff like "that transition is too fast" or "that colour palette is off on that scene". None of it particularly interesting or sexy, it's just time consuming busy-work to make it all flow properly.

For example, I made about 60 correction notes between minutes 12 and 30 this morning. It's all very tedious.

I was able to land the conclusion script in the end. I think. I may end up ruffling some feathers, as I do make some unflattering comparisons towards some popular games. But hopefully it'll be interesting. Though I suspect not everyone will agree with my comments.

From a technical standpoint, I've also got that same problem from before, where the whole 1080p video-essay wouldn't rendering properly on my hardware. I ended up fixing it by clearing out almost everything from the SSD I'm using for Adobe's cache. I've already started that process. Fingers crossed it works again. That was a bit of a pain at the end of last year.

So for now, I'm continuing to try and make these little fixes. Replacing scenes as they might be needed. Will try to get you finished product as soon as I can.

Weirdly, I don't actually have a name for it yet. The working title is just "Video essay - The Isle". Hmmm.

Mate, it's important you take the time needed to be confident in what you make public, your essays are always on point and that's because you clearly care about what you're trying to put across. Don't be so hard on yourself when it comes to how long it's taking, because you have a huge fan base who will wait as long as it's required for you to be ready.

Stephanie

Agree with what Tom said - myself and I imagine most of your supporters are happy to wait however long it takes to get the quality videos you put out. I know the subreddit and stream chat are always full of constant 'when's the next video', but honestly the whingers can bugger off. I like how you take time to try new effects and grow your own skills - doesn't matter how long it takes. Edit: OMG, dalmatian dinosaur!

Tom and Stephanie said it already. Don't worry too much about the time it takes and focus on the quality. It's obvious that you put a lot of effort into your work. And I'm sure that this effort is going to pay off and the video is going to be great. But effort and quality take time, that's just how it is. But it's also totally understandable that you just want to get it done after 8 weeks. So if you need some extra pairs of eyes, you know where to find us <3 Take care, stay hydrated and give Lulu some pats and scritches <3

Quality takes time. Youtube is full of rushed efforts, we appreciate your dedication to making something good to watch. I can understand just wanting it 'done' though, but we're here for the good stuff.

I'm excited about this one! If you need another week to get it right, by all means, take it. It's only your sanity we're talking about here, right? Small price to pay! XD (Fishing vacation when your done with this one?)

Thank you for your hard work, you’re very good to us.

I mean, if it doesnt offend anyone, is it really the true Womble-experience? Looking forward :)

I love all the stuff you do and I'm glad you're much more comfortable with doing passion projects not just bullshitteries. I'm happy to watch either or but you get the point

in his BEST OF 2019 video, TheRussianBadger said, "When you adopt the habit of 'When it's done, it's done,' that is so much better content. That's where the magic happens." Same applies here. Don't rush yourself with deadlines, mate.

Soviet, you're an overachieving picture perfect editor, and that's why you have a fan base. Don't be afraid of providing your ideas. 48 min is a huge commitment. Have you considered upgrading your pc to handle the increased quality and bulk of your videos? Cheers man, give a treat to Lulu for us.
