It's a very wild time for me today so I'm writing this one while... mildly inebriated. At age 30, Patreon is my only source of income, my largest following is likely to significantly diminish in 3 days time but I'm also warm, and fed in my own home and with people I love nearby and over the world, including a beautiful lady in Boston who, I hope you'll forgive dear patrons, I treasure even more than everything you've been able to provide me. As I unbox our third camera, and get ready to start doing sound and camera placements for an actual play, I feel optimistic, raw and mailable, like I haven't solidified in my approaches yet.I think if I told my 10 year old self that by 20 he'll have made lifelong friends and a lifelong passion and my 30 year old self that that passion could eventually become a career that will pay the bills and maybe one day put food on the table as well? They'd be pretty happy.Who knows what I'll be telling my 30 year old self in 10 years time? Gods willing. And it's on the topic of the Gods I want to make better content but then we get to the big issue... Immersion Breakers. Please understand my patrons I love making this series and as my social media presence changes, and the story changed and grew more complex over time I've been pretty set that it will ultimately need to become an actual play that I'd have cooking in the background as I write and produce the series in the same consistent fashion I have been for the last 4 years. But I still look back on the videos I've made and the creative choices I've made and wince, I've definitely entered the stage of looking at the mindset of dragging it into current production quality. The big hurdle for me has always been... how?Because IB started as a single skit on my early days on TikTok I never anticipated I'd one day be working with green-screens, 4K cameras and professional editing suites, nor did I realise which characters would grow in popularity or become integral to the plot, like the Monarch's Old Adventuring Party, or that the setting itself would begin to attract interest. It's exactly because I love the story that I look back on those episodes and wish I'd had character and background artwork, time to write, time to hammer out takes with better equipment... but hindsight is 20/20 as the saying goes.Either way, those things are necessary now, and with the forward cost of Cameras out the way I'm now budgeting for art to use in the IB actual play and the IB series (plus merchandise), budgeting for props and reworking unreleased IB scripts to better utilise the green-screen, even as I write this I'm even contemplating remastering the whole series... but I'll put a pin in that for now.Regardless of any future updates to Breaking Immersia, the next few episodes of IB will also focus on hashing out more details of the Realm in a manner similar scripted skit to the Tax Episode rather than a lecture format.Today though I'm gonna do as much writing as I can while enjoying all the best wishes on my birthday, and I want my patrons to know how much I appreciate you.

I'm glad to know we have helped fuel this and can't help but look forward to your work regardless of the direction it takes.

Merry Birthmas!!! (Same age!!! Same hat, Same age!!!) Try to cut yourself as much slack as you can!! Having your standards for yourself raise can be really good! But the second it gets to be a problem brain-wise, it's maladaptive. Excited to see whatever comes next and whatever form it takes!!!

Congrats on successfully completing another solar orbit! In all seriousness though, take what time you need - a worldbuild is a big thing (as I know from the baby steps I've started... which was with my pantheon, ironically enough). Will still be with you on all platforms as the IB grows, and happily supporting all of the creativity you bring to the table

Happy birthday friend! As someone who's rapidly approaching 40 soon, the 30s aren't so bad. My husband is also a January baby! I'm so glad I'm in the patreon community so I can still follow along with IB, all the other fun stuff you come up with, and interact on the discord! I'll be supporting you via this, YT, etc. Take your time with writing, cause it's always gold! And I'll still bother you with my silly doodles :D

Happy birthday, good sir! I'm glad to hear that you are safe and in good spirits. I might be a bit late jumping on the Patreon bandwagon from the clock app, but I definitely wanted to be part of the journey. I look forward to seeing the content you will produce and have full confidence in the decisions you will make. Congrats again for all the milestones you have met and here's to many more!
