Hello again! Thank you for waiting!

As the poll requested, I'm shifting from WIP chapters to a short story for this month. I might do the same next month, or maybe dive straight into the next WIP. We'll see. But it's been a while since we've seen Alex, Rachel, and Lorelei, so this seemed like a good time.

This one changed a lot as I wrote it. I've had the concept in my head for at least a year according to the notes on my phone. Originally, I thought it would be more rural in setting and focus on Alex as our primary POV rather than Lorelei, but this is what happens when I write. Things change.

Also, I totally thought this one would be 5000 words. Maybe 6k. Naturally, it wound up over 9000. Hope you like it!

Now I want to know Gerard backstory.

"He said it in curiosity rather than suspicion or accusation. She found those within herself" is a great line

1. There's a lof of hints about Lorelei's role and work as a succubus here. 2. For some reason I'm thinking of Gerard as gay here, despite him flirting with Kayla and Lorelei noting "his attraction is one-sided". 3. I'm amused by Rachel's fellatio exemption on blaspheming. 4. Another example and hints of Heaven not being particularly heavenly.

Thanks for the GI story. It was wonderful to catch up with Alex, Lorelei and Rachel.

As a Seattle native, I imagine this story taking place in the 13 Coins restaurant. Descriptions match. Alex's car chase takes him north on International Blvd before U-turning and heading south past the Denny's and pulling into that section that has four hotels in close proximity. I appreciate how the author uses real locations in his stories. It is not necessary to know the locations at all, but if you do then it makes the visualization even better!
