As I said recently, I'll have to come up with a new working title on this book as it's way too close to something now coming out from another author friend. That'll teach me to think ahead on titles! :)

Again, I plan to continue on with the short stories for my other series here in the future, but I'll be honest... this month has been, well, October of 2020. I can share this while still keeping ahead of myself in production on this book, while shifting gears to my other stories is a little tough right now. It sounds like folks want to know what happens next with Riley and Selene, though, so here it is.

You know that thing where the answers you're looking for open up a lot more questions...?

Intellectually, I know you must have done research on some level to figure out what to say. Nobody (I think) comes up with "linguistic variation in instructions, object recognition, and decision pathways" on the fly. But in the story, all I sense is Selene talking like Selene. Flawless job.

Fabulous. This is my preferred antidote to the crazy of 2020. If you have more you can drop to cushion us from civil unrest, please consider a couple care packages next month. We might need it. Badly.

Having read the first three chapters, I think the setup (plot, world, and characters) is potentially interesting, but it sadly hasn't grabbed me yet. I think one reason is the way the relationships between characters is set up. I tried to work out how Riley related to each of the introduced characters, only to have him walk away from them. The exception is Selena, but she's also tricky. Bradley Richard mentioned Born Sexy Yesterday, and that trope is ringing loud and clear to me right now.
