This month's story post is a little longer than usual--hope that makes up for the slight delay here. It's not exactly a Tanner story, but it's full of familiar faces from his life. I feel like Lynette and her crew need a little more love and attention.

I've been looking back at this year, and um... y'know, Past Due was basically ready to launch by February/March as an ebook, and I only delayed until June to coordinate the release with Audible. This is all to say I really thought I had a good chance at making 2020 a two-novel release year for me.

Oops.

Dear subscribers, as always, thank you SO MUCH for your continued interest, your feedback, and your support. I'm lucky enough to be stable and safe amid all this, and I feel like better days are ahead, but WOW 2020 has been the dumpster fire that keeps on giving. It means a lot that you have stuck with me through this. Thank you.

Please wear your masks, be safe, and take care!

How do you approach describing the interiors of spacecraft and general technology (like "floating holo screen" / "solid screens")? You do a better job than many other sci-fi authors I've read. Were there examples that you've studied, or have you developed a few rules of thumb you follow?

You still write some of the best dialog in sci-fi. Starship physics - not so much, but that's not why I read these. ;-) Edit: You know you've got almost 4 weeks to get another PMF novel out to make it a 2-novel release... just sayin'.

This is why I am so glad you decided to do a patreon. I love these side stories so much. I really like hearing about the non-main characters too.
