Hi all!

So, good news: Audible made an offer on No Man's Land! I have literally no details to provide other than yes, they've shown interest, and I haven't signed a contract yet... but hooray!

SEPARATELY from that, I wanted to probe for interest on a project before I committed resources and time to it...

Would you be interested in a HOT RESTART audiobook, narrated by Tess Irondale? Would you be likely to pick that up if it was available on the normal audiobook channels? Indie-audio is a new prospect for me, and Hot Restart isn't part of a series.

So. If Tess & I provided Hot Restart in audio, would you be likely to pick it up?

I love your stuff, but have no interest in audiobooks at all.

Same boat - I just can't with audiobooks. Either get too wrapped up in the story and stop doing the other things I was trying to do, or I fall asleep.

It's not something I do a lot, but I did like the PMF audiobooks. Not sure if I'd go in for Hot Restart, though I enjoy all your work.

I’ll put in a voice for the other side. I love Audiobooks if I know a book is coming out on audio I will wait for it rather than read it first. I can listen to them at work. Also Tess is first class and if I see she is the voice it is a significant factor in my decision to get the audio.

I'm a big big fan of your work and Tess' reading. *coughs* GIMMIE!!!

Recently I realized that you can combine your audible listening with your Kindle reading, i.e, they track where you leave off and you can switch back and forth. So sign me up!

I read at a much faster rate and have my own voicing in my head. That said I like reading to kids with different voices and they appreciate it, so maybe I should give it a try

Huge congrats on the offer of an audiobook for PMW6. I hope it pans out. FWIW, huge fan of PMW and GI but never started with HR. I read PMW1-5 and then listened to the audiobooks. Never tried the GI audiobooks - something about having to listen to the prolonged saucy scenes. Figure HR would be the same.

I have to agree with some of the others here. I'm a big fan of audiobooks in general, but for me the "spicy" books don't work well in that format. That said, I have listened to all the PMW audio books and congrats on the offer for #6.

I'm a fan of this idea. I always wish Wandering Monsters had audiobooks, and HR is the kind of thing I'd listen to over and over while doing chores or work

Big fan of the audiobooks, and LOVE Tess's performances. So on the subject of the sexy-times scenes... personally, for me, Tess does a really impressive job of making them actually erotic when appropriate, funny when they should be, and heartwarming when you get into actual emotions between characters. Don't need to tell you she's good at what she does, of course. :)

Oh, and a reason why I love audiobooks, and why some others may: For years I worked a job where I drove for many hours each day, and audiobooks made the long days pass a lot better than they could have otherwise. After that, I worked - and work - from home, and there are large portions of my job that can be done while listening to audio. Completely understand the folks who it doesn't work for, but there's a lot of us out there that rely on audiobooks to get through the day.

Oh, I could tell how much commuting mattered for audiobooks when Past Due launched in June of 2020. The audiobook ranked super high, but the actual sales were pretty meh. That told me how much the stay-at-home stuff hit everyone across the market. :)

I'd be interested to see who you retained as voice actors. I love Tess Irondale but hearing her on such a book would make me automatically think of Lorelei.
