Another great reaction. Rip Miranda. Flint seeing Miranda getting killed, Vane finally understanding the situation, Nassau losing Eleanor, Jack going after the gold, and Silver conflicting thoughts about the crew. Every single one of those moments has the potential to change literally everything in this storyline.

Another great reaction! To another amazing episode, so much happens. RIP to Joshua I wish Vane wouldn’t have killed him during the battle. RIP to Randle, I like to think Silver now takes care of Betsie. And RIP to Miranda, I wish she would have made it to the end! Such a shocking death, every time I watch this I want to yell at my screen “tell James what’s on your mind Miranda!” I honestly could watch a full episode of her and James and Thomas as well just talking and I wouldn’t be bored. That death hurts man! I love how we get more information on quite a few things in this episode. I like how we learn about Vane and Jack’s true intentions on deposing Flint. And I like how we learn about Flint’s accomplishments in such a short time. And I love the backstory on the name Flint, such a good scene between him and Miranda. Another thing I love about this show is how it makes you see things from every different perspective. Like with Peter Ashe, yes I do believe he’s a coward who betrayed his friends, but he was put into an incredibly difficult situation. And he is right, they want to return to civilization, well that is what civilization is unfortunately. One of the main themes of the show is showing how “Civilization” is so incredibly uncivilized. The Vane speech at the end always gives me chills! He really is a bad ass. And I like how you picked up on Silver’s decision to save the crew and himself. I don’t think he really even knew in that moment if he was doing it solely for himself or for everyone. One quote I always go back to while watching this show. Is from the very first episode of this second season when James is talking to Thomas. “a man trying to change the world fails for one simple and unavoidable reason... everyone else.” Oh and fuck Hornigold for life. Dudes hurt pride turned him into such a pos! Can’t wait for the season finale!

Miranda's death hits hard, I remember being so shocked when I first saw it. The scene was perfectly executed though, a fast build up and BAM! right to the viewer heart. Unpopular opinion here: I like Hornigold, I don't root for him because I'm on the pirates side, but I still like him. He gets a lot of hate in this season but think it about his perspective: he literally was one of Nassau founders, he was one of the very few people on that island who actually had a sense of honor, he was respected, he was wise (remember his speech to Eleonor about lifting the ban on Vane) and trustworthy. Despite that he was betrayed by Eleonor when she told Vane about the fort tunnels, he was betrayed by Flint when he took back his word and then he saw any possibility to take back the fort disappear once the news about the gold came. Yes he is a very proud man, but with right considering who he was and what he did both as a navy captain and a pirate. So yeah, after everyone turned back on him he thought "well, fuck you all then" and decided to provide security for himself by obtaining those pardons.

Miranda’s death is always so hard to watch but the dialogue and the acting in her final scene is just so good. The scene where flint explains how he got his name is one of my favorites. I cry/nearly cry every time I watch that scene. Vane planning to go help get flint out never fails to give me chills. I couldn’t wait to see you get to that part Also fun fact that I literally just found out yesterday: the actress for Miranda and the actor for Peter Ashe are married irl!

Cool, I didn't know about that either! But I know there are Toby Stephens' (Flint) wife and brother in the show. They are future characters though so I'm not gonna make any reference here to avoid spoilers.

Oh fun!!!! lol I love it when actors are actually married. Yes i will say the acting was so top notch I'll miss her character and influence a lot.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

I dislike him but I do have to respect Hornigolds intelligence. He can’t trust anyone on the island anymore. He can’t leave the island for fear of being killed as a pirate, so he gets himself a pardon. Now it doesn’t matter what happens on the island, because he has been pardoned, so if the British decide to come and take it back, he’s fine. He could even leave now. I’m glad you could see more of the separation of Flint & McGraw. I think that has to do with Miranda. She’s the last link to who he was, he can be his old self around her. And as she’s been constantly with him for a few episodes now, it’s easier for us to see the distinction between the two. Even his eyes look different when he puts his Flint face on.
