Great stuff! Always looking to figure out how to be a better player :)

Great video! We've recently started talking about some of these things in my group, specifically how it's much easier to explain, why you're in a party, if some of you know each other from before. It also makes it much easier to roleplay a brooding character or character lacking in social skills, if they know one of the other characters. Sadly I think that my group far to quick to make character for a new campaign. Before session Zero they will have a character concept, which of course is stupid. I'm definitely going to talk to them about tying their characters to the campaign. Thank you so much!

Since I'm the only one in the group with a Campaign Logger account and we play theater of the mind using skype or jitsi, I found that I have enough time to take quick notes that I can later expand onto full paragraphs and better descriptions. Then I share the RSS feed for the rest of the group after asking the GM if she wants anything different. I started this for continuos type of games, because we have also episodic games where each episode does not share NPCs, so it becomes less important to log everything.

Good tips! I never had problems with character interaction, but I can see how going about character creation a little differently might have positively impacted our campaigns!

This is good! Concise and full of great stuff!!

Mohit

Great video. I will definitely be sharing the YouTube version with my players before we start the next campaign

Jeremy Martin

Excellent video as usual! I'll be sharing this with my players once it hits the tubes.

Thank you for pointing out those tips, particularly the one about waiting on PC concepts. One other thought, for folks that can be “troublesome” to chemistry of a group, if they role play “too well” to counter the flow, it seems those types don’t see themselves as such, which can make that discussion most important upfront.

My players take notes, and one of them has started forwarding me a PDF from his OneNote workbook after each session. It's a huge help, because he is very detailed with regards to dialog and mood. It helps me with tracking what was done vs my notes, and serves to log the lore that is being handed out to the players, so it makes it easy for me to track the Secrets and Clues (tm) that were given in the course of a game.
