Awesome to see this up and coming soon Mike!

This is a book I've wanted for a long time. Count me in.

Stapled Spine Fanzine

I am OVER THEE MOON EXCITED about this! I am right at the foot of the long journey in formulating a BBEG for my party (just gained 5th lvl) and this is EVERYTHING TO ME!!!

Jun Miyazaki

Shut up and take my money! :)

This is amazing, I had already moved over to using Lazy DM Companion monster benchmark stats for basically everything — as soon as I did so, my encounters went from wild swings (either pushover or super deadly) to feeling intense but balanced This is like that, but on steroids and I am here for it

Gary Brazier

This is a great resource, can't wait for the full release. Thanks Mike!

Chicago Crazy

Thank you so much for the preview copy! Awesome resource in addition to all of your others that I use when DMing.

Lucas Bielfelt

Love it! It looks great Mike and Co. I can’t wait to back the project and get the complete PDF!

Richard Anderson

Can't wait to hold a copy in my hands. Great work Mike and friends!!

This is great! I've used some reskinning (used a catoblepas as a flying, tentacled horror) and some mashup (put multiple types of quori into the encounter builder and called it a giant worm with multiple heads). Direct upgrade templates would be great too. We often need aids like this to keep things challenging these days, since there are a lot more character optimization resources, and every book adds a little power creep. I'm glad that there's a side panel with links. Section lInks in the table of contents and index could be good too. For accessibility, could you test it with some basic screen readers like Windows Narrator or iOS VoiceOver? My vision is okay with enough zooming and sometimes inverse contrast (dark mode), but some of my players need screen-reading software. A couple years ago Jennifer Kretchmer releaed a document with gaming accessibility resources, and some are related to the emotional safety tools.

Michael Shea

Great feedback! I'll talk to Scott and Teos about this.

Sonja Engelhardt

Very much looking forward to it. As always your work is great! It will be so helpful!

Michael Hughes

I've found for a lot of my D&D reading, that loading PDFs onto my Ipad to be the easiest way to read them. What is the expected price point for the PDF version? Also, when might the PDF reward be delivered? The preview seems quite lengthy!

Kirby

Mike - the art. The ART. It's so darn good! I love it!

Tatum Vayavananda

I love the direction you, Teos, and Scott are going with this book. The more and more I GM, the more I'm starting to seek out "game design" advice rather than more "GM toolboxes" (because I have a LOT of monster books...) Things like this help me achieve that intent while not requiring me to delve into the full-blown game-designer territory. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to back it!

Ryan B

I'd buy the preview as is; the table of attack damage per CR as well as the long list of special abilities is so useful.

Johannes Egerer

Looks Gorgeuos! Unfortunately I am playing PF1, and no 5e (yet). How would you rate the userfullnes for GMing in other systems?

Jun Miyazaki

Backed at the first day! I run my games based on the Lazy GM method since 1,5 years now, so this was a no-brainer for me. And this book seems to be a good answer for my many questions, challanges about monster and encounter design. :) I've a question however. The preview contains this fiendish characteristic: Empowered by Death (Trait). When a creature within 30 feet of this creature dies, this creature regains CR × 2 hit points. The CR is the dead creature's CR, or the CR of the monter's who has this trait?

Michael Shea

Hi Jun! It's the CR of the monster with the trait. Thanks so much!
