Howdy Patrons!

I'm considering launching a free newsletter on Substack as a place for socialist writing on film, not sure about the launch date but hopefully pre-Oscars.

What would you want to read about in a Kino newsletter? What makes a great newsletter in your mind? Let me know! :)

This is wonderful news!! I think the newsletter format has such potential for expanding your analysis past the parameters of the podcast medium. In my eyes it would be particularly great as a platform for socialist discussion of historical trends in film, schools of directing/cinematography/etc., or really any discussion which is not easily framed around a single film or franchise. If this was the idea then being vigilant about emphasizing quality and rigor/thoroughness over publishing frequency would be an important consideration. In any event I'm really excited to read this, and am looking forward!!

Love it! I’d appreciate a section rounding up good pieces of writing, videos, pod eps, etc. having to do with film and TV
