Tier Talk: Important Changes. (Patreon)

I've tried recording two times now and I just don't think I provide sufficient clarity when I move my lips so for the sake of just that, bullet points.

• 40$ Tier - Changed to solely the banner profile pic  (Occasional doodle requests you can dm me for?) 
• 10$ and 20$ Tier - Merged into 15$ Tier for standard end icons.

So why the change and what does this mean for those who paid for those tiers this month?

No need to worry if you paid hoping for the colored icon, you'll still get that and that icon and prior ones will be in rotation for a bit. Same goes for those who paid for a 10 dollar icon. Because charge on pledge is active and you paid the 10 right away the benefit is still made active.

NOTE: any pledges made to these tiers after this post has gone live will not be tracked. (As I have removed the tiers it shouldn't be possible to pledge for those amounts anyways) Cont. but starting starting next month/end of this month if you are charged for 10 or 20 dollars Patreon will not alert me of icon benefits, please adjust your pledges to one of the other 1$ 5$ 15$ tiers (or 40 if you are nuts)

So... why the change. Disregarding that doom and gloom bold text up there that feels very cold and ominous in retrospect after having written it out, I need to address an elephant.

BURNOUT

Uh oh, another big scary bold word.

1. With the increasing amount of patrons pledging there's a myriad of reasons why I want to streamline end card stuff, ideally I'd get it down to living off the support of 1 and 5 dollar patrons but in an attempt to make stuff really appealing I offered a little too much.

The end cards now stand at 6 different screens, that's a lot to cram in. That's a significant part of the process to me. In some ways I even consider it to ruin the comedic value of a video but that's a different discussion.

A lot of my time is spent hunting down changes made to pledges and getting references from people now (For the 40$ tier).

Drawing an icon in the banner can happen any time and doesn't put much pressure on me.

I'm already bad with upload consistency, hunting down references get's stressful. It feels like another unpredictable part of releasing a video on time. And that's why I'll be ditching the colored icons.

2. As for 10 and 20 dollar tiers. Both were virtually the same from the start with the addition later on of flash files and BTS videos for 20 dollar patrons (Which I have yet to follow up on because I have trouble sitting down and doing those too AND which I then made the decision to make that available to five dollar patrons and up).

If those BTS videos are something you guys still genuinely want, let me know. I would love to make it so that now 5 and 15 dollar tiers offer something that's easier/more enjoyable for me to put out. Sketch dumps or instrumental music (As was mentioned in the 5 dollar tier description).

Lastly, I hope this doesn't come of as an attempt to make more money or force anyone's hand. In fact it most certainly wont with 40 dollar tiers, I would rather have them be a one-off support thing.

This is me genuinely trying to streamline the tier process so I can be more focused on videos as their own sort of thing as demand increases.

I'd almost certainly be happy even if ALL the people who paid for the 10$ tier before only wanted to do 5 or even 1 dollar now (Or nothing at all I can't stop you there)

That SAID, if you DO want to alter your reward I NEED to remind you to change it because if you're paying me 10 dollars after this month it wont go towards anything. Which would leave you sad and me sad. Okay?

Okay. Long but necessary hopefully.

And hey, if you DO want there to still be a ten dollar tier, what would that look like? Added to the name text list? Something else? 

I would really appreciate any feedback whatsoever on this.
