This is an announcement for everyone who owns the new Bambu Lab A1 printer. There has been an official recall issued for all A1 model printers currently on the market "regardless of their condition". Bambu Lab has made an announcement addressing this recall and stated "We strongly urge all customers to stop using their A1 printers until the issue has been resolved".

Bambu lab has found that less than 0.1% of all the A1 printers sold have an electrical malfunctioning problem related to heatbed cable suffering from damage reported.

Bambu Lab stated "While the number of faulty printers is very small, we take the safety of our customers very seriously, and until we learn more about what exactly causes the heatbed cable problem, we recommend everyone stop using the printer for their safety."

Since all of the A1 model printers are now under recall, Bambu lab is offering two options to those who purchased one.

Option 1 - Return for Refund: Customers can return their A1 printer and receive a 100% refund of their purchase. This means that you will need to repackage your printer and ship it back to them just like you would do with a regular return.

Option 2 - Wait for Heatbed Availability and Replace it: Customers who don't want to go through the hassle of the return process can choose to wait for a replacement heatbed to be sent to them (expected around the end of March).

They are offering an $80 discount voucher for the customers who return their printer and a $120 discount voucher for those who choose to wait for a replacement heatbed.

I just wanted to bring this recall notice to everyone's attention incase anyone was unaware of this issue. I know a lot of people within the 3D printing industry purchased the new A1 model back in December and when there's a potential safety risk of a 3D printer it is very important that it is brought to everyone's attention immediately.

Damnit now what printer do I buy 🤣. I got a ender pro and want a good printer that can print multi colors.

3DA Prints

Its been over reacted to.

Greg

I am curious about the printers bought at micro center. That's where I bought mine.

MysticMesh3D

The X1C and P1S are great choices for multicolor printing. You will need the AMS unit paired with the printer to print up to 4 colors.

Josh

Thank you🙏🙏

Glad I got a P1S from them back during Black Friday, almost got this and that would have sucked

I bought mine from the micro center how does that work

DarkwingsDen

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely be waiting to use it for now.

Micro Center will give you a refund but no additional incentive

Micro Center will give you a full refund but no additional incentive

Right I knew that. Would be nice if they gave the people the incentive that bought from micro center to.

Bambu is working with its suppliers to redesign the cable. The A1 will likely be available again soon.

FUNctional Maker

You can't currently purchase them anyways. It is likely they will be for sale again soon with the updated cable.

The cable is being updated and the A1 will likely be available for purchase again soon.

FUNctional Maker

They will if you register to replace the cable

Greg

Right on! That's what I was planning on doing!

I definitely don’t plan on using it without supervision. I have noticed some issues prior to them releasing statements on it and have not been using it since. I am probably going to send it back for their option one because I am still pretty new to 3D printing and would be concerned with my ability to swap out the heatbed when they issue a new one.
