We're starting off with a BANG cause we finally got our hands on the Eras Tour book which we have been avoiding spoilers of like the plague so we could react for you guys. It was so much fun to chat about all things Eras Tour again and reminisce on this iconic tour 😭 we miss it so much!

love this whole video but especially your fathoming of glitch towards the end. something I‘ve been trying to fathom for a long time is how all of the speak now vault songs capture the concept of illicit affairs in my opinion. I don’t know if this makes any sense but I feel like those songs are directed toward Matty or am I delulu? her (sand-) castles are crumbling, she can see her with him, it would‘ve been timeless, etc.

1989 OG outfits were likely changed due to all the beading. It could be scratchy, hard to quickly change and a few people said they saw some beading fall off on the stage which is not safe. The Folklore OG dress sleeves were also an issue getting changed quickly 🫶🏻

As for the discussion about glitch, for me Taylor tends to put at least one song about her beginnings with Joe on the album, ivy on folklore, cowboy like me on evermore and glitch on midnights. I think that in glitch she is talking about how their beginning was unexpected and at the same time their ending was unexpected. I don't think it makes sense for Matty, because the song does a count that he can't be part of, and that's the main part of the song. And also about loml for me it can't be for Matty, because above all, I can't conceive that songs like the smallest man who ever lived and loml could be for the same person. Love u girl's ♡

For me I still think loml is about Matty because I've had a relationship where I thought he was the loss of my life but with a bit more time and fathoming, I realized he was actually the smallest man. Thank you for the long chats!!! I have to (playfully) disagree about Travis not getting it. His favorite song may have started as Blank Space, but Cowboy Like Me has been revealed as a more recent fav. I was definitely skeptical when the relationship started, but as soon as he started talking publicly about her he showed that he "got it." That first article when he called her a "genius" and that he could learn from her, and how he went to her music video shoots and dance rehearsals to cheer her on. How he made an effort to attend so many shows. Anyways, not sure why I am defending him, I guess it has just been really satisfying to hear a man (and her partner) speak so highly of her work ethic and leadership skills. I think he gets it (even if he is not as deep in the fan culture as we are!). Happy new year!

Speak now was the first tour I saw and is my stan album, and so I feel like that is the worst captured era on this tour. Not least because it's one song, but also because SN your was so prop, set, and visual heavy, but there's no distinct imagery on the eras tour other than the flower-field vibe. Which is not really what that era was. If there was any kind of church imagery, or the bell, or more song variety then I feel like it would've been better representative of the album and era.

look "cowboy" is not such a specific word, to think that taylor used it in a song just because of a speech, because the song talks about someone she is with, not to mention the references to the dance she always uses it with Joe. Furthermore, she may have found the speech interesting and used it for her and Joe, who was her boyfriend at the time.

the Glitch thing makes so much sense! I just listened it to it as well and interestingly the Spotify canvas glitches between folklore Taylor and that video of her in a blue dress winking at us, that she uses for 1989 TV (alluding to when she first met Matty?)

and one more thing on that: I remember there was that 1989 TV vinyl that apparently was mistakenly shipped to a few people and had Slut ft. Matty Healy — could it be that she wrote it around that time... about him? The "in a world of boys, he's a gentleman" being about Harry Styles never sat right with me, especially since he's younger than her and was literally a kid back then

I have some thoughts regarding the idea that Red is the worst setlist on Eras Tour... I've been a fan since the first album and seen all the tours in person (except Fearless, rip), and, in my opinion, the Red Tour is a better representation of what that tour was than the Speak Now set. The Speak Now set is so disappointing on the Eras Tour (and you have to take that with a grain of salt because Taylor coming out in a ball gown is still amazing to witness), but Speak Now and the SN World Tour were so much more than just "purple" and "ball gown". What we got on tour is to me a watered down version of that era since Enchanted went viral and that's all anyone would know. They'll see the gown and hear Enchanted and be satisfied. Red I do agree could have been better and I think a couple simple changes to the setlist would have been enough to take it from okay to amazing. But the staging looks exactly like the Red Tour and the costuming is a perfect re-interpretation of the Red Tour wardrobe. I think if she had simply shortened 22/IKYWT/WANEGBT, maybe made one of them transition into another to shave some time and make room for Holy Ground or Red, it would be tied with Fearless as a perfect set on the Eras Tour.

I always interpreted midnights/labyrinth a bit differently than the girls. I’m wondering if anyone feels the same way. I always thought that midnights and labyrinth were about her falling in and out and in and out of love with Joe rather than Joe and then Matty. Because she wrote labyrinth and then still stayed with Joe for almost 2 more years. Renegade she says “you squeeze my hand as I’m about to leave” and I think that kept happening. Throughout midnights and then maybe it wasn’t until she liked matty that she had enough of a reason to leave for good. Or even that she was looking for a reason and tried to matty that reason for her leaving. Same with the Great War . There had to have been enough time for a “great war” and a reconciliation.

We all miss Rep on Netflix, alas I suspect because it is a tour/performance owned by Big Machine Records Taylor's team may not be prioritising working out a way to make it available on streaming again any time soon. I notice there are blue-rays or similar of various tours that can be purchased online from ebay or similar, that could be an option for trying to get physical media of them even if the rights mean BMR get something (or not, who knows hwo legal they are) but they do show up in searches.

I often have a few fathomings about the following; - Taylor and Joe probably broke up way before we all think they did. I don’t really see Taylor breaking up in March and announcing in April. Also they were so private and rarely seen in public that is possible that they could’ve been broken up for 6+ months and Taylor felt like she had to make it public with the Eras Tour starting and wanting to be public with Matty. - They could’ve also broken up a few times throughout the 6 year relationship and during those “breaks” she had situationships with Matty while writing for Midnights or other albums.

It’s starting to become a little bit frustrating, that something is available online for 5 minutes and then it’s sold out 😔 I don’t understand why they didn’t just print many more copies.
