I'm at 12:05 and to answer Em's question - I think the only thing I genuinely miss about those early folklore/evermore reactions is how much you guys let those albums just wash over you. Like I think you were pausing less , and during the pauses you were processing more-so than trying to figure out an answer, so to speak, of what you were hearing. And I think there is something so pure about that. I often find myself saying "don't pause, just keep listening!" with new album reactions since. Don't miss the forest looking for the trees. An interesting question to pose!

Guys, for me, the Folklore reaction was such a raw and genuine moment. Em and Bonny, you truly showed your real selves, and I think thatā€™s why we love you both so much. Iā€™ll never forget when Em screamed, threw herself on the floor, and kicked her legs like a child. I was like, Come on, this doesnā€™t exist online! Everyone else seems so fake, but you guys were just so innocent and real. As for the side note question, I definitely do find myself longing for the OG, raw & unabashed reaction style from you both from time to time and would love to see it return if you are ever feeling held back from having to plan a perfect, detail oriented video. I think theres a time and place for high quality production in the cases of say the Midnights reaction where you traveled and it was such an anticipated reaction to be in Paris together (I LOVED the midnights reaction for that reason, and it is high up in my favorite reactions of all time alongside folklore) So to me, there are beautiful moments to be made with both perspectives! Ultimately, do what feels authentic to you and your natural response and experience as swifties and that will always be the best viewing experience to us imo. The best things to watch always end up being videos where you are acting most authentic to your true experience, which would call for something different depending on the context of what drop it is. If you decide to react in a more raw, unfiltered way even on patreon since it is a safer, less exposed platform, I would be ecstatic to see what that looks like šŸ˜šŸ˜

Ive tried to get into billie but i just cant get past the fact she was/is such a bieber stan and just over the years she just seems to not like taylor at all,like recently saying shady things like ā€œwho wants to see a 3 hour showā€and even this last album cycle billieā€™s manager retweeting stuff saying taylorā€™s blocking billie and other artists etcā€¦.No hate for billie of course I do think she is incredibly talented,idk i just cant get into people who continue to kinda do shady disses towards taylor.

I also agree with what Bonny said. I really like Billie and Finneas but it does bother me how they talk sometimes. Itā€™s giving ā€œfartā€ (to use their language lol). I get the vibe like they look down on other artists and (esp Billie) have really strong opinions that really are not important to say. Like ā€œno one wants an album over 18 tracksā€ or whatever she said - thatā€™s not actually true, SHE just doesnā€™t want one that long. Idk I do like this album and interview but I find it hard to ignore some of their comments šŸ˜£

the whole conversation about being funny and playful on an album to then really showcase the vulnerability as well really reminds me of midnights. like midnights just has that absolute perfect balance which is why it is such an amazing album and so listenable and maybe what ttpd lacks a little bit (I still love ttpd don't get me wrong!) but maybe why some people find it less listenable?

This was so interesting! I love hearing their explanation of the songwriting process for them! Also as a side note, for me I relate my own life better to songs when I know the place that they were written from. So actually knowing the artists story behind the songs helps me to do what finneas was saying which is picture them in the context of my own life.

I think Taylorā€™s music is so multidimensional that thereā€™s songs you can interpret as your own experience, thereā€™s songs where your maybe thinking about Taylorā€™s experience, and then thereā€™s songs that you may not relate to at all but itā€™s a good fucking song and Iā€™ll pretend that I experienced it haha

Regarding the evolution I think itā€™s hard but I really hope you can maintain your genuine response knowing that sometimes people wonā€™t agree and youā€™ll hear more from then than those who were fine with it. As a watcher I can feel it when reactors start to be defensive or apologetic or self censoringā€¦ often escalates and eventually no one enjoys it I think the more youā€™re enjoying it, not stressing about occasional negative feedback and know people are supporting what you do so keep enjoying exploring things that interest is a formula that works for you so stick with itā€¦ love you guys šŸ‘

I really like Billie and Finneas in interviews, I disagree with a couple of their takes, but overall theyā€™re really interesting to listen to. I just really canā€™t get on with Billieā€™s music. I feel like every song has a build and Iā€™m waiting for the turn, but it just never happens. The only song in her discography that I purposefully listen to is Happier than Ever, it actually delivers on the build. Itā€™s one of the greatest songs made in the past 20 years

I feel like Billie and Finneas sometimes say things that make their ā€fandomā€ feel like a toxic environmentā€¦ Saying that a fan shouldnā€™t listen to the song and wonder what the artist was thinking when writing it is going against their argument of building your own idea of the song. Wanting to connect with the artist is just as much of a reason to listen to a song as emotionally connecting to it on a personal level. Unfortunately, as a fan girl to the bone, this makes me really take a step back when it comes to getting more involved/interested with Billie as an artist (which is such a shame because I think theyā€™re so talented and clever). Also just really canā€™t get over how they constantly say negative things about the pop side of music (like ā€who wants a 3 hour showā€ and ā€who wants to listen to 16 songsā€)šŸ˜•

The Wham comparison that Zane made is interesting, because Birds of a Feather has the same chord progression (and in the same key) as Last Christmas. About yā€™allā€™s folklore reaction - I think the authenticity of being wrong in the initial reaction is part of the charm and nostalgia! I hate to think youā€™re putting pressure to be ā€œrightā€ on yourselves to the point it is over curated and inauthentic, the wild joy was so much part of the folklore and evermore reactions! Overthinking the theories and clowning or anything muddies the magic from those initial reactions!

the sweeping generalizations the two of them made (attention spans, long albums, introspective narratives) have only hurt the album in hindsight. songs like lamour de ma vie, that work overtime to keep your attention missed the mark for me. experimentation does not necessarily translate into a cohesive artistic vision. personally, there is barely any emotional resonance in the soundscape of the album because i think it lacks serious intention/vision. even when they describe the making of blue ā€” an extremely disjointed track, there is little to no intellectual praise for it. the three of them simply describe it as ā€œcool.ā€ i say this as a huge billie fan šŸ˜ž

I rewatch your videos quite often-I love the first one to the newest one. You put so much effort into the vibes and the editing etc. I appreciate the time you put into everything. I donā€™t want you to feel pressure to ā€œget it rightā€ with new Taylor music. Your videos might be more thought etc but itā€™s the excitement and joy you feel when listening to and talking about music that, at least for me, is the essence of your videos and that is still fully always there.

I donā€™t take it that way. Taylor happens to be the biggest star in the world at the moment and a lot of those things are things that she does. However they are also true for BeyoncĆ©, Sabrina, Olivia and many other and so I much more take it as her stating HER stance as how it relates to the ongoing trends in the pop music industry at the moment. She is entitled to say why she feels she likes tro write and perform in a certain way even if that directly distinguishes her from some of the other pop stars of the time. None of them are right or wrong.

I love to go back to your folklore reaction and some older videos from time to time, but there is never a moment that I think your reactions now are not just as genuine or something is lacking in terms of nostalgia. I love the effort you put in all your videos and it's more just highlighting the essence of what we're listening to. It was definitely a lovely transition which came with it being your job in comparison to previous videos. Therefore a natural process which I love to witness. A certain innocence is always lost at some point, I guess, but I believe that happens in any situation or circumstance that is open for more public display. However, it doesn't feel staged or anything like that with you. Just more awareness which is never bad anyway. Love this video and love you girlies!
