On another note, what do y'all think about the title being similar to Gracie's song? I've seen people on Instagram say things along the lines of Taylor "taking away from Gracie", which I personally think is just ridiculous. The song isn't even in Gracie's top 10 most popular on Spotify, and frankly I don't think many people are out here searching for that particular song on Google as it is. I feel like it's people just trying to villainize again... Maybe it would be different if the song was called "That's So True", yk?

I strongly believe this rollout is the start of something bigger - most likely Debut TV for the 20th anniversary. I think the Toy Story song will be more country, making the public view her through the country music lens ahead of Debut TV appearing on the scene. The fact that Toy Story 5 comes out on the 20th anniversary of Tim McGraw feels too perfect - like she’s going to announce Debut TV on the 19th when the movie comes out, or something. That is an INTRIGUING ranking! Mine is in order of how they came out. Nothing will ever top the first for me, it is SO special. Please please please remember that although we refer to the first album as Debut, it’s actually Taylor Swift. And I think that is why she’s plastered TS capitals throughout her track 5 songs. You guys gotta look for pics of the new Jessie countdown that was on her website yesterday! It was very cute! I think she put the first “mistake” countdown up to start us talking so as she said in her post “You knew it”. It was like super obvious Easter eggs so we could finally get something right and it fit with the title of the song. Also I couldn’t figure out why during Showgirl interviews she kept saying Travis was 6’6… it got weird the amount of times she said it because Travis is not 6’6 he’s 6’5. I saw so many posts about it after like “why does she keep saying that” and like “well I guess she knows him better”. I wonder if it was another Easter egg to us saying “I knew it” because we would go look up Travis and say “I knew it” he’s 6’5 and what day does the song come out 👀 hmmmmm! I kept thinking June 6th was a day to keep an eye on but it was really June 5th. I think she did the song a while ago and maybe even around the time she was re-recording debut or at least taking the photos for the that album because she’s not wearing her engagement ring in the pics. We know the end of May 2025 in her masters letter she said debut tv was finished. Joan Cusack who voices Jessie finished her voice recordings in May 2025 and Taylor said she saw the screening in the early stages of them working on it. So that means it could have just been small parts of Jessie’s story that they had finished. I think the title of the song is going to be direct words that Jessie says in the movie about Emily.

My prediction is (following the NYT interview song structure): Emily has a daughter who plays with screens more than real toys. Emily laments that fact and when searching for toys like she had as a child for her daughter to play with, Emily finds Jessie and gives her to said daughter. Jessie sings the song “I knew it, I knew you” about that cycle of generational love, and knowing Emily would one day find her again and bring her back home, linking to Taylor’s master recordings coming home again. And now new generations get to play with Jessie, just as new generations get to know and fall in love with Taylor’s past versions of herself. OMG HELP 😭

Y’all what if there’s a music video for this and that’s why there’s so many visuals (still rooting for debut shoot tho). The premise of the movie seems to be Bonnie (SHUT UP WITH THE NAME LINKS TO OUR CHICKENS💕) forgetting about her toys because of technology but I’m assuming by the end of the movie she’ll come around and choose her toys. Jessie will probably reflect on being abandoned again hence the flashbacks to Emily. I’m picturing young Taylor from the photograph playing this out and then Taylor now playing when she comes back around and reuniting with Jessie specifically because of her past trauma. Toy Story x Taylor Swift OG song/MV is what our Emily needs and deserves.

TOY STORY 5 SPOILERS BELOW I went to an early screening of the film (I’m press), Taylor’s song was cut from the film so that it wasn’t spoiled but I can confirm that the entire film is about Jessie and reflects on her relationship with Emily and how growing up sometimes means you lose people but that it’s not always a bad thing and how you can love and watch people grow from a distance and the love never leaves! So I think it 100% links to what Taylor said in the NYT interview about a song about a daughter who grows up and learns lessons from her mother and passed them down

girlssss now that i’ve heard the song im like 99% confident it was written during the J*e Alw*n days and may possibly be ~also~ about him (and maybe Matty, like a composite sketch of the 2 of them)?? think about it! it’s like cardigan in a different, happier font. sam’s vocals are in it, so it’s likely this was recorded, or at least written, near the time of making midnights. which means it had to have been written likely weeks if not months before that due to the length of time it would take to get the lyrics etc finalized for Disney, putting the original writing around 2020–2022 at the latest. it make sense 🧠🧐

i was reading the lyrics and I noticed two things, knowing her a songwriter. First, the typical taylor twist at the end (TTT). It appears there is a change in point of view at the end of the song. She loves to do that. But I haven’t heard anyone else notice that the verses don’t seem to be about the same relationshiop, at least to me. “We used to fight like brothers” isn’t something 2 girls would say. they’d fight lik sisters.
