And you girls absolutely already clocked it a few eps ago: the problems and sense of competition between Conrad and Jeremiah stems from their childhood, the way they were raised, their mom, THEIR DAD and their general personalities. It has actually very little to do with Belly. She just added a new layer of complication to an already straining dynamic. But they all play their own part in that, so I don't get why some people tend to only blame Belly for this mess... Other than the fact that making out with the brother of your ex, who you broke up with less than 2 months ago, on your ex's car, while you were driving your ex to HIS college and all of you clearly have a lot more unresolved issues that need to be discussed is CRAZY WORK 😂

My sister studied at both Swinburne and Monash University in Melbourne and they did have jumpers, but the culture is definitely very different to college and not sure how many people actually wear the jumpers like they do in America as it’s their identity. When I studied away at uni, I stayed at student housing which was off campus, but I do know they have some on campus ones too. But again, very different to America. They’ve got a really big club culture as well in America more than they do here.

Did yall notice that when belly and Conrad were talking by the trash bins and she “friend zoned” him, their outfits were mirrors of what they wore in season 1 when Conrad withheld his feelings and shut belly down after the Fourth of July kiss. Back then it was belly in navy and Conrad in a striped white shirt and now it’s switched! This time, it’s belly being the one withholding her feelings and shutting Conrad down. Even the mirror of belly saying “I don’t remember last night, it was a blur” was exactly what Conrad said about not remembering their almost kiss in season 1!! It’s the details!!!!!!

Okay since you guys haven't read the books I NEED you to know that when Belly sits on the beach after her fight with Laurel and Jeremiah comes up she says that she knew it was Jeremiah because Conrad would have known to leave her alone at that time. Like I know it seems good of Jeremiah to check up on her, but Conrad didn't because he knows that Belly needed to be alone. Just need you to know that.

I mean they should definitely react to the trailers at some point, which they’ve said they will. But I think they should maybe wait until they’ve finished the whole series to avoid any spoilers cause they literally know like nothing of the story or plot points, they knew so much less than I originally thought they did before starting this. And it’s really fun to see them react to the scenes and plots in the moment with all of the context rather than just moments in a trailer, but that’s just my personal opinion tho. I also understand the fun in seeing them react to major plot points in the format of a concise trailer montage and then filling in the context throughout the season. Idk it’s just personally I like them reacting in the moment it’s happening in the series. But definitely agree they should watch the trailers at SOME point!🫶🫶☺️

I think something key to understanding how Belly acts towards Conrad in season 2 is what she says at the beginning of this season. Something like, “I will never let Conrad have power over me like that again”. After the funeral scene I think? She is obviously still in love with him but is terrified of how much he makes her feel and never wants to go there again. She has convinced herself of it so thoroughly that she *almost* believes she doesn’t love him anymore…

i disagree that conrad is closed off with belly when they're not together cuz what about the scene at the store in ep 6 or the scene on the beach in ep 7!! plus all their phones calls in the flashbacks in the beginning of season 2! they weren't together then! also conrad has other priorities like the house and he probably feels like he shouldn't or doesn't have the right to be there for belly since they've only been broken up for 2 months!!

So interesting every time you guys talk about the air conditioning situation in Australia! I will say as a girlie from LA it's kind of the opposite. It used to not get super hot here so lots of older apartments have no cooling system in place but now with climate change it can get to 37 C in the summer and you just have to survive! I've lived in 4 different apartments since moving here and not a single one had AC. 😭 just taking cold showers twice a day to survive in the summer. I will say tho the newer expensive places do have it but I'm not on that level yet. I'm surprised they haven't started to add heating in Australia tho

I’ve enjoyed these videos because of the musical connections, but I’m not sure that will translate well into other shows that don’t focus on that as much. Jeremiah is a BABY ANGEL!!! I think it is clearest in that last episode that he just loves Belly and really isn’t trying to make it a competition with Conrad. If anything, he is consistently trying to prevent it from being a competition and just step back and let Belly and Conrad be together, because he loves them both and he knows he is going to end up getting hurt 😭. Conrad is making it a competition here!! I still love Conrad too though, ahhhh this show ❤️

So many Belly wonderings!!! Is she the actual problem? The way she catches no heat for not being honest herself when she demands it from everyone else. She was only honest with Conrad when she was drunk and then says she doesn’t remember anything. Really when has she been honest with Conrad or about Conrad in s2? Also date someone else, like literally anyone, or don’t date at all, but fucking around with two brothers who lost their mum is honestly a lot. Although I do appreciate the story wouldn’t exist without the terrible decisions being made left and right. Jeremiah plays emotional maturity, why would someone genuinely emotionally mature even consider a thing with your brothers ex girlfriend (no matter who that is) when you a) are aware he still loves her, and b) your mum just died, unless you’re actually a sociopath. I chose to believe he’s incredibly childish instead. Phew. Now I’ve sent all that off into the universe I can stop thinking about it.

But what about Belly and Conrad kissing and pursuing something so soon after Jeremiah and Belly kissed and literally when Jeremiah had JUST found out his mum was dying?! That’s not ok either!! Jeremiah was clearly really upset by that because he loves Belly, but he didn’t childishly taunt them the way Conrad did here. Unpopular opinion, but I think if anyone is the bad guy here it is Belly - Jeremiah is at least trying to push back and protect his relationship with Conrad here, but Belly is the one pushing things forwards! I agree the Belly is the problem. Both brothers deserved better TBF 😂However, Jeremiah kissed her, Conrad dated her for months. He handled it with much more maturity (after his initial and imo valid crash out). Also, Jeremiah did not love Belly the first season. He had feelings, sure. But they were absolutely not love at that stage.

I will never understand why people give Jere an unfairly hard time about this stuff - I totally agree it is bad that Jere does this, but no one seems to give Conrad a hard time about when Conrad and Belly first kissed. Conrad wanted to keep pursuing something with Belly once he found out she and Jeremiah had already kissed, and when he knew Jere had only just found out about their mum’s cancer returning. It was Belly that said they couldn’t carry on then, but Conrad didn’t seem to care about Jere’s feelings and was so blind to the fact that Jere actually cares about Belly, brushing it off as just another one of his flings. If he really paid attention he would realise that isn’t the case. Then this time, it is Belly who is pushing things more than Jere. So why does Jere always get so much stick, where Conrad and Belly don’t? Jere gets SO much unfair hate relative to the others!

I really appreciate it because most people I've talked to about this show choose a side and won't even entertain the other perspective, which is just not realistic. Season 2 is my favorite because of all the intricate details and complicated feelings depicted. The actors do such a great job of subtly showing their emotions with body language and facial expressions, minimal dialogue, and it makes the viewing experience so full and lived in. I just think what he did in s2 is like...so much more severe in a way 😅 But I also so get what you're saying! I guess for me in the beginning, no one had dated anyone, and kissing someone your brother has a crush on is like...a bummer. Tho I would say Jere knew Conrad liked Belly before anyone even kissed so that's also something--But actively getting into a relationship with the girl your brother was in LOVE with and brought to Thanksgiving, and two months ago was in a relationship with, is just unhinged. Belly made Conrad and her take things slow for Jere's sake when all they did was kiss, but I don't think Belly and Jere do any of that and are basically dating by the season end, which is just like...really inconsiderate as a brother.

Ok rewatching this has me like… Conrad is TAME. Belly caught him just sitting a sofa with his head in his ex’s lap at his mother’s funeral and threw a tantrum - when SHE broke up with him. Conrad walked out to her making out with HIS BROTHER on his campus while they were waiting for him??? And after their convo the other day where she was giving mixed signals? DIABOLICAL.

Meanwhile Belly and Conrad stayed apart out of respect for Jere despite living in different cities from Jere, and Conrad asked Jere’s permission, AND by thanksgiving Jere wasn’t even ok with them holding hands… Jere and Belly are both big emotions reactionary people and I feel like together that can make them pretty self centred. The max two month turn around from Conrad to Jere mid heightened emotions of Susanna’s death is fucked.

Conrad didn’t know Belly had anything with Jere when they kissed (meanwhile Jere shot a firework at them to stop their kiss and schemed to get Conrad out of the way so he knew they had something), after finding out Conrad and Belly decided not to be together and he waited until near Halloween just to ask Jere’s permission… and didn’t see them together until American thanksgiving in late November and one handhold was all it took for him to tell Conrad he can’t be around them. Also imo Jere did far worse than petty taunting… he lashed out and guilted Belly with the dying mother card and cut off Belly for a year. Conrad catching Belly hooking up with his brother weeks after his mum’s death on HIS campus while waiting for him is like… next level. I think Jere is immature asf, and people say Conrad is a poor communicator (true) but I’dI do agree that Belly is reactive and the biggest bad guy here pursuing this when Conrad went in not knowing about Jere, and Jere is being pulled in by Belly.

I mean… if I were Conrad and I walked in on my ex kissing my brother, and they’d given me mixed signals but clarified they had feelings for the other person, insecurity and self doubt would kick in and I’d not be confessing to ANY feelings like… I would not have it in me to be vulnerable and pursue and let someone in who hurt me that way and was giving me signs they had feelings for someone else. What reason does Conrad have at this point to believe Belly wants him at all?! I feel like he has every right to ask for space and more than 24 hrs to process I would need business weeks.

Also just thinking about “giving Conrad until the morning” to process and cool down when Belly and Conrad gave Jere MONTHS out of respect to process when he was upset that they kissed (and again Conrad didn’t even know when he kissed Belly) before even just asking if Jere would be ok with it… it’s really the speed with which Belly flips to Jere that gets me. Ok finished the reaction today and exile is still the most treacherously not ok song choice. and I will just continue to die on the hill that any irritation with Conrad is projection because to be trying to learn how to handle anxiety and panic attacks and learn and practice being more open as a communicator while your mother is dying and your brother isn’t speaking to you and you get burned every time you do open up… and then your ex breaks up with you tells you to go to hell (proving your worst fears right that dating her would mess up family dynamics and end poorly if it ever ended) and then chooses your brother within a month… this isn’t an adult relationship or guys we know who repeat annoying patterns of not trying… this is a teenager who couldn’t get his shit together within a few months and lost EVERYTHING because of it…. No one can convince me there are equal sides to the hurt in this triangle doc of belly is the main character.

But gosh I just can’t agree on any of the expectations of Conrad because while I get it from Belly’s needs and pov… I think expecting anything of Conrad, let alone to learn and be better mentally than he has before, within the worst most traumatic months of his life is beyond unfair. If my mum were dying of cancer I would not be a functioning human, I would not be able to step up for anyone or learn how to be in a new relationship and I certainly wouldn’t be able to cope with losing everything because I was passive… not actively cruel or disregarding just… literally incapable of more at that time in my life. Give me a few months. He (and Jere) needed everyone else to step up for them in those months.

I totally disagree, yes there is desire in Jeremiah and Belly's kiss, but that is not all, there is strong passion and deep connection and I don't want to say more because I refrain from posting spoilers but when the time comes , I'll comment on it, having a passionate kiss full of desire doesn't mean it's not deep or emotional too, not only that, I always marveled at how Jeremiah and Belly's kisses are sensual and soulful at the same time! I get that you believe Jeremiah to be emotionally intelligent but I find him to be such a liar. He says he only wants Belly’s happiness but if that were true, why did he point the firecracker at her and Conrad that night? Everyone knew Belly’s feelings for years, and still he whines that he was with Belly first and was ok with hurting her feelings by not only freezing her out but also telling her Conrad was going to hurt her? Who needs a guy like that in their life? For a fictional character he gets on my last nerve. I don’t begrudge her having relationships right now because she’s young and needs to grow up some before committing to one person forever , but sometimes she comes across as Jeremiah’s substitute mother- she comforts, excuses, and enables. Plus, they both grieving and though Susan was a good person, her wish for Belly to one day be her daughter in law holds a lot of power..which is kind of unfair.

I know the audience knows how much Conrad loves Belly but I think it's really important to remember Belly truly believes that Conrad is done with her and for her own survival, she chooses to move on from his attempts to reconnect. Jeremiah is loud about how he's feeling at all times. Unfortunately, in S2, Conrad being distracted with house and not realizing his brother was pursuing this flirtation with Belly, made for horrible timing. I don't like Belly pursuing the brother of an ex, but Jeremiah is her childhood friend too and he's made it clear he was still upset with her going with Conrad and she believes that she made a mistake in choosing a dream over her sweet friend. Ugh, it's complicated. I think Jeremiah is the most wrong because he had most of all the information, like the audience, but all three played a part.

Jeremiah saying he'll let Belly go and not get in the way AGAIN means he most definitely wasn't the last time and caused the way Belly interacted with him the entire week, trying to make up for her "mistakes". He's not being the bigger person when he is pushing these two who are in such a moment of distance (literally just kissed Belly in front of Conrad) to have a conversation neither are going to be ready to have all because he wants to jump into his relationship with Belly guilt free. Just let them enjoy it and think what they want to think! They haven't seen future episodes, you wouldn't want to spoil anything. Plus, I think this show is more complex than to villainize any character like that (except Adam lol).
