Well, perhaps it is dangerous for me to comment about this, ,but I have gained some perspective since my initial shock. The thing I have to remember is that the Grammys are voted on by a big group of people, not chosen by a panel. So they are not sitting around thinking and discussing together, or thinking about how it will look if this person wins or doesn't win. It is just a vote. So then you get things like vote splitting--if you like Olivia for album of the year, probably you also like Billie and Taylor, so some of Olivia's votes went to them, although in a panel discussion probably that group would have coalesced on Olivia. And the Grammy voters are by and large older, so transgressive people like Lil Nas X (who I think should definitely have won best video) are rejected.

A few specific comments: 1. Loved your reaction to Bieber trying to pretend he is an artist and falling on his face. 2. Loved the rest of the performances, but especially Billie and Finneas. They won the night there and in their reactions, even if they didn't win any awards. 3. I think we have to go easy on Olivia, as Em says. She is remarkably mature and wise for 19, but there is a lot of fear underneath her armor, I think. It might be a while before we see that armor fall, if we ever do. 4. Did the Grammy have to go to Taylor for Fearless? I agree it had to for 1989 and Folklore, but I am not sure about Fearless. This is really a question, not a criticism--I just don't know what it was like at the time, really. 5. I think you're right about Taylor's somewhat difficult relationship with the Grammys, but you sure can't see it in her Grammy performances, all of which are iconic (and worth some Chats and Reacts videos!)

It is an adjustment to watch you on the couch instead of the floor with the TV in the background! Taylor's Sour equivalent is Fearless & it did win so...yeah. I actually think 3 AOTY's is the right # for Taylor, it just should've been Red, 1989 & folklore. Beyoncé not having an AOTY is insane & she should've won over Fearless but that's how it goes! It's also insane has never won Song of the Year so who knows with the Grammys?!? I do wonder if it'll be the usual Adele fest next year. 30 doesn't feel like it's been as big as 21 or 25 so maybe not. And please let's get ATW 10mv for Song & Record of the Year!

Thank for sharing this with us. Very cozy atmosphere. Finneas’ and Billie’s reactions show so much grace and decency. Respect! Loved your Bieber comment but I have to admit he couldn’t do anything good for me nowadays. I absolutely adored Jon Batiste’s speech. A true artist and decent human. Love him in the Late show. I think Olivia, Billie and Taylor can easily accept loosing AOTY to him. Thx to Keith Urban for praising Jack Antonoff. I didn’t need more to summarize the Grammys than your relaxt video.

Your reaction to Biebs is my reaction too.. I LOVE EMs face.. I didn’t watch Grammy, coz Taylor’s not there and I was sure that she will not win for Evermore (sick to the core). The only thing I watched is BTS performance, but I cannot get through with that also, coz somehow I feel like I’m getting bored with the song. No hate, if there’s any swift-army here, I love BTS. Beyonce is beyond overdue for AOTY, but I just don't agree that sasha fierce should have won over fearless. If any of Tay's wins are questionable it's 1989 over Kendrick's album

Agree. While I do think drivers license should have won soty (bruno and anderson are also very deserving), the album as a whole was not AOTY worthy imo. It was carried a lot by the incredible singles.

I agree Billie and Finneas was my favourite performance I love that song so much and makes me emotional watching them perform so perfectly. yeah you right about Olivia, I hope we see that armour fall one day. It probably didn’t have to go to Fearless, that first time was really a bit different, I think they gave it her because she deserved it but maybe didn’t expect her to keep doing that! We just filmed a grammy history video for Taylor which will be up soon! :)

You should definitely get to know Jon's music, he is a very talented, kind individual. I know him from LSSC, but only recently am listening to his music. His Tiny Desk concert has an all female band :)

OMG! I just got up to Justin Bieber. 🤣🤣 I didn't think it possible to like you ladies more but your utter contempt for that swine is very entertaining. I'm really hoping you watched Jon Batiste. He is a revelation. Edit: I'm bummed you didn't watch Jon's performance. You would have understood him getting album of the year. However I think it more likely that 3 women drawing from the same fan bases evened the odds out. I felt Silk Sonic had a much bigger hit here in the States then they did worldwide. Leave The Door Open was huge here. I encourage you to check out some of Jon Batiste music. It's amazing stuff and very uplifting.

1989 was such a powerhouse, it's hard for it not to have been the Album of the Year if we're just talking popularity which is kinda what I think AOTY should be. It's really hard to compare a country album to a rap album or a jazz album. I don't know. All of this is subjective of course like Jon Batiste said.

Maybe you'll get into this in the Taylor Grammy breakdown but what song should've won for Song or Record of the Year? Taylor's single choices might have hurt her with this over the years. Blank Space lost to Uptown Funk (ok) & Thinking Out Loud (ehhh, whatever). I can't believe the Grammys dismissed reputation so badly but a lot of people did & that's there loss but if Delicate had been the lead or second single, maybe it gets a shot. Lover, uggh...if only Cruel Summer had been set loose on them. Wait a second. Begin Again was the only Red song nominated? IKYWT wasn't? I guess they didn't know what to do with her being country or pop at that stage. Anyway, at least Mean & White Horse won for Country Song!

Take a look at the charts, Donna. This week 3 of the top 10 Billboard songs are by women, and in Australia only 1.5 are (the half being the Dua Lipa-Elton John collab). There's room for more women at the top! Every woman you listen to pushes Bieber down a bit further!

Sometimes I feel like the Grammy’s have become more of a burden than a blessing for artist. Like anytime someone wins one now they just discredit their own work and mention how they think someone else deserves it. I kinda makes me sad. I think that’s why a lot of artists keep their reactions minimal because they know the happy feeling won’t last very long because of other fanbases. I think Jon Batiste had a great speech when he won. It was one of my favorites for the whole night.

I watched the first half of Olivia's Disney+ movie after I saw Bonny & Emily reacted to it. So I wanted to watch on my own first. Maybe I took this wrong but she talks about dating/relationships in this movie like she's experienced everything possible by the age of 19. Although i did think it was funny that she's heard the same thing Taylor got about if she could write songs about being happy in love. Really curious to watch B & Em's video about it!

Watched the rest. The musical performances are great. But I do agree that she's changed from before. And now I don't know how you can go through all of this and not have that happen. So it's not really a criticism. Just kinda wish the Taylor part of it wasn't so weird. We're referencing the country music that influenced you and sure I'm guessing that wasn't all Taylor but from everything she said before, it was a lot of Taylor so that she will not even say her name is a bit odd. I really think it's a thing her PR people have told her to do. You want to be known as Olivia Rodrigo. Which I think she's beyond this now. Everyone knows who she is. Its alright to still be a Swiftie, Olivia!

No. They can if they want. But no, i dont’ think anyone subscribed to see a BTS reaction. I will subscribe, however, to any patreon you can name that has a BTS reaction without a track. dont’ say NPR Tiny Desk. NO track. They sing to track. So, I think they are phenom, and a great performing boy band, I like their songs, but I’d rather , very much rather, them sing what they sang at the Grammy’s, with no track at all.
