okay have to talk about the pre-video convo 😂😂 I actually 100% agree with you guys about how listening to other people’s thoughts/perceptions of a song can really make you feel differently! a few examples of songs I was meh about before your breakdown videos: death by a thousand cuts (sorry lol), dorothea, mirrorball (I liked this one a lot more after TAYLOR “broke it down” in the long pond studio session), cowboy like me (!!!!!!!!), getaway car. and now I love so many of these I think it’s just so interesting that after hearing you guys rave & talk about these songs, I find a new appreciation for them! and it makes me love the albums, Taylor, and you guys even more for shining some different lights on things 🤍

About the kids though, I feel like you grow up dreaming about love and less about having kids because you’re still one yourself, so I find it interesting that she does mention them occasionally which makes me think it’s something on her mind. “We’ll rock our babies on that very front porch,” never grow up, peace, and then in the lover and everything has changed MVs. WHICH then led me down a rabbit hole theory wondering if Everything Has Changed is literally about having a kid!!! All my days I’ll know your face, all I’ve seen since 18 hrs ago (when the baby was born) is green eyes…, all I know is a simple name and everything has changed (I.e. naming your child)! There are definitely some lines that don’t fit 😅 but there are a LOT that do so it’s really interesting that she then made herself a mother in the MV. I’m 💯 not saying she had a kid that long ago, in general the song is about meeting someone and your life changing for the better, so I think it’s sweet that she made it that type of relationship in the MV. Or she could have been imagining Andrea’s experience becoming a mom or something like that

Your pre-viewing chat inspired me to share: lover has always meant the world to me because when I first heard it -- the lyrics "can I go where you go" made me sob -- my boyfriend and I had been in a long distance relationship for 3 years at the time and that simple feeling of just wanting to always be with him hit me hard. "this is our place we make the rules" really captured all I ever wanted for us -- now we've been living together for almost a year now <3 can't wait to leave the christmas lights up til January for the first time :)

This is so true, when I watch some of their breaking down videos I always go back to listen to the songs in a completely different way, it just gives you a new perspective that brings a lot more depth to the song 😍😍

Some random comments: 1. Love the background; I too think this is the one. It lets you have multiple vinyls, like Emily says. 2. I see that Emily is not a Lover stan, and I can accept that. But Lover is a classic song that will outlive all of us. It is like White Christmas or something; it will go on and on. Not many people can write a 100-year song, and Taylor did with this one. It is like it doesn't really matter if any of us like it or not; it is just classic. 3. Love the discussion of music as Taylor's home and Joe being comfortable in it. I am personally not a believer in the theory that the Lover house predicts the future; I just don't buy that one of the rooms represents folklore or evermore or Midnights. I love Taylor, but she can't see the future. But the past albums, yes. 4. I did not get the metaphor of the fishbowl as her life before, but it makes so much sense. She does live in a fishbowl! 5. I think Taylor is playing the drums. My family has professional musicians in it, and they can do anything. They are just around music so often, that they pick up how to do the basics of every instrument. I'm not saying Taylor could play the drums well enough to be in her own band, but I totally believe she could do the basics. Look how comfortable she looks plucking the violin, too. 6. I think Taylor both wants to get married and wants to have children. I don't think having children has to stop her from writing songs; she could easily hire multiple live-in nannies. She may not be ready, of course, and she may be very nervous about bringing a child into her complicated life. That is what I would be most worried about actually, in her position. It would not be easy growing up as the child of Taylor Swift. Anyway, thank you as always! Loved this and loved the metaphor songs Youtube video. Obviously looking forward to Midnights!!!!!

I have always felt it could also be symbolic of how Fearless was really her breakout album, begun her international career and really launched her to the world stage - so the metaphor of having her life "turned upside down" might reflect this :)

Agreed on the house situation - I definitely feel an intentional coordination for the main rooms, but this MV was created in 2019, no chance she could have foreseen the pandemic and we know from the Long Pond Sessions etc. that folklore and evermore were unplanned projects. I think it's mostly happy coincidence there were extra rooms and vaguely similar colourschemes (but even this - in the closeups the staircase is actually a pinky purple white room, and the ladder room is white and yellow). She's a genius, but she couldn't have predicted the shitstorm that was coming 😂

Thank you for another lovely video. I love your background. It looks better with being able to see the albums you have on display. It also still looks cozy. I don't know how I feel about the house because folklore and Evermore were recorded during and because of the pandemic. Thinking like that Taylor could not have known about those albums. I do love this video. I also think Taylor wantswrdd marriage and at least one child. I believe they are getting married soon. I believe this will be a very hush hush wedding. I do hope she lets us know after they are married. Once again thank you for such a lovely video. Hope you are having a wonderful time in Paris. Lots of love. See you in the midnights video!

LOVE the new backdrop girls, and I also said the same thing to my sister a while back, like oh my god what if this song and album confirmed for us that they were engaged ALL THE WAY back then and we just didn't really pick up on it as being her directly telling us?.... I also agree with you guys that if they are married (which I kind of really think they are), she'll one day reveal it in a song or video etc and not say more. We know that ofc her and Joe will then get asked SO much about the day in interviews and all that but they've always managed to dodge questions about their relationship so I'm sure they could manage 😭❤️ Also from what we know from her songs (SPECIFICALLY peace !!!), it's kinda clear to me she does want a child but who knows when😭

It is a deeply personal topic, but I think having kiddos would scare Taylor because right now all her energy is devoted to her art. We know from interviews from 10 years ago to this year that she gets a melody in her head, drops everything, and needs to record it. Can you do that if you’re looking after a child? And in her parents, she sees two people that dropped EVERYTHING for her. Moved to a new state for her. Can she do that? I hope she and other women realize that they don’t need to choose IF they have the right support system. Supportive partner, family, and friends who can be there when they can’t! Showing up IS important, but you can’t be there ALL the time!! I worry about that social media trend showing kids light up when they see their parents in the crowds at events. It IS absolutely wonderful. But just as important is making kiddos aware of how much you still support them even when they can’t make it to that soccer game or that recital.

Took her a while but I'm glad she hasn't chosen a blonde white guy for the video... No one really talks about it, but for me the Lover era was so so important, because she finally spoke out about so many different issues. Knowing she wasn't that typical white racist republican "americas sweet heart" girl was really reassuring. Not that she necessarily gave off those vibes in the early years, she had just never really made clear which side she was on. Now I can look back at all her old content (with all those white guys to be honest) and be a bit relieved and just enjoy all that is Taylor Swift.

I've just watched this for the first time. Thank you girls for opening my eyes to so many things in this music video. Also as a mum of 2 little kids, I know I'm being selfish saying this, but I wish Taylor has kids. I would LOVE to hear her songs that are from a mother's POV. There's just so much new emotion involved in mothering and I often struggle to process/understand/accept them cause not all of them are good. I feel like I really need Taylor's genius songwriting help to live through tough moments.
