Ally ❤️

When was Shakespeare in love put out? It was huge… I wonder if it was around the same time?

LadyQBear

The movie "Clueless" was also a modern adaptation, but of a Jane Austen novel "Emma."

lizzy

OK I'm coming in so late lol, but I literally say all the time that I fell in love with Taylor through her music videos and specifically the "making of" or "behind the scenes" she used to have because Taylor Swift didn't let music video culture die she told STORIES. I never knew you guys had gone through them here and now I'm so excited (wish the bts were still up on her channel for you guys to go through though).

lizzy

Lol I think the flashes with the berries are meant to be a visual montage of the potential true ending to romeo and juliet, the plans to meet and run away, poison berries, faith fading... but then Taylor changes the ending (which is literally the fun of love story, her taking an iconic shakespeare tragedy and rewriting the end).

Katie LaFave

at least in the US, love story didn't go #1. it peaked at #4 on the billboard hot 100 chart.

Fede

this song was truly such a world-wide hit, so iconic 🤌. I remember singing it with my sister at the top of our lungs knowing half the words because at 13 I was far from fluent in English! lol that's how much I listened to it at the time 😅

Fede

also, now that I think about it, the visuals of the music video give me huge Pride and Prejudice movie vibes, the one from 2005?! especially the dance and the scene in the meadow, that's 100% Mr. Darcy's outfit 😂

Miriam Hart

Yay!!!! Can’t wait to watch! I always watch your videos to and from work

sofie sandrini

ILLEGAL CHOICE U’VE DECIDED TO MAKE 👑👑

Lea

Wow I REALLY wasn’t expecting that but I am 100% here for it!!! Also I think we can all use some Fearless energy when were starting a new year

Josh G

FEARLESSSSS ERAAAAAAA 🥰😭🥺

C

I’m very scared that we will get speak now tv, before you all have had a chance to do your speak now breakdown 😂 like it’ll just get dropped instead of getting an announcement with a long lead time like red tv had

Ileana Isabel

"How am I old enough to remember 15 years ago" Emily giving me ammunition for an existencial crisis one video at a time 😬🙈 i was 8 years old 15 years ago lol but still, what is time

Ileana Isabel

Also, hello, Fearless era!!!! Iconic queen ♥️

Leilani Willcox

Hey girls, thank you soo much! I love Fearless era, and this is just what I needed today. <3

tay

UGH YES! this is the video we never knew we needed right now

Sheila Ellis

Speaking of Miley, will you two be reacting to her new album when it comes out in a few months?

Ileana Isabel

ALSOOO, BONNY YOUR HAAAAIIR OMGG 😍

Iga W.

What a nice suprise! We don't talk enough as a fandom about Fearless so I'm really looking forward to reentering this era with you! 💗

Joe Weaver

Of course!! Fearless era commence

Charlotte Adams Brooks

It’s so fun to see that point of view that when she sees him she’s daydreaming! I always took it like it’s a past life, a “flashback,” and they feel like they know each other already.

Megan Clemens

YESS FEARLESS ERA!! Thank you queens! 👑🫶🏻

Mustafa Diab

Oh I don't know how it gets better than this, so take our hands and drag us head first into FEARLESS ERAAAAAA

Shannon Gilhooly

I love when you go off course in convo it’s my favorite! I feel like we’re all just chit chatting

chatsandreacts

YESSS WE WILL! And we will be reacting to her new song that comes out this week too 😍 entering our Miley era

Michelle Akin

I've literally only watched a few minutes, but Bonny's face when she's talking about being old enough to remember 23 years ago....same girl, same!😂😂

Keri 🫶🏻

I’ve always had a soft spot for this video! I live about 30 minutes away from the castle where this was filmed, it’s an awesome place to visit!!

Jenna Aguirre

Yes Fearless era!!! Please react to Journey to Fearless it’s so iconic!

Marie S.

i also think its a good idea to get midnights breakdown before speak now TV comes out or even before tour starts

Dswiftie

I love when you guys are unhinged! I love how u have the m

Dswiftie

most wonderful ideas for a video. Fearless era! Thats genuis! I did not know she was day dreaming in this video. See why its great to do these videos. Thank you so much for this video. You both are absoulutely glowing. Bonnie I am loving your hair. lots of love from ky.

devin dear

Completely fine with whatever Era you you two cover. I’ll watch all you Taylor Swift videos!!!

chatsandreacts

Yes! Midnights breakdown videos will start being uploaded onto YouTube this week and the speak now breakdown is filmed & almost ready to go for whenever we are closer to a speak now TV announcement… it’s all happening 😍

chatsandreacts

Don’t you worry your pretty little mind… the speak now breakdown is filmed and will be uploaded onto YouTube ready to publish the SECOND we feel we are closer to getting SN TV 😍 cause we are also concerned she’s going to just drop it 😂 but that’s ok, if it’s a surprise it means the breakdowns will go live immediately and reaction will come a few days later!

chatsandreacts

Its literally scary. 2008 feels like yesterday 😭

chatsandreacts

Ohhh you are SO right! Like a flashback to a past life or something… OFFENSIVE!

Jordan Conger

I am so excited to go over Fearless era! There is so much content to go over while we wait for the Speak Now OG breakdown and the re-record!! 😭

CK

Fun thing, the video was filmed at the Nashville ‘castle’ it’s a very popular spot in Nashville and Taylor would have seen it anytime she was driving near by because you can see it from a distance on a main road.

Jaimie C

you're unhinged and we love it!

Jaimie C

bahahaha Em 'imagine living in a time when sideburns were hot', me thinking 'we're living in a time when moustaches are in, AGAIN' NOOooo boys stop it! lmao

Brianna Washington

I am ILL over the fact that I was just watching your fearless tv reaction today and then you posted this!!!! so freaky!!!

Hannah Bessette

The garden mv scene is giving… sneaking in through the garden gate and wait for the signal and I’ll meet you after dark…

Shikhar

Bonny, your hair!!!!!! offensive!!!!

Marie S.

yeeeiiiii thxx bestiesss <3

M3L

I think she has BTS videos on making the videos from Fearless. It would be fun to react to the video and the BTS content at the same time. Wish she still shared more of those, but hopefully she will and I just need to be patient!

Lizzie Lou

this video just made my entire day!! 🥹

Kate Aschoff

omg yes journey to fearless react PLEASE

Rose Ellen

Yes! The behind the scenes for Love Story gives so much insight into how the video was made.

ruchi singh

I think i was waiting for you guys!!! I have not fathomed bye bye baby !!!!!!

Laila

I guess Anti Hero video very much follows the lyrics in the song, similarly to Love Story mv. Maybe she got inspired when rerecording Fearless..

MarkH

Loved this as always and I would really like the Fearless vault track breakdown. You could think about including Today Was A Fairytale on that, since you have never broken down that song. I don't believe. On the line "We were both young when I first saw you", maybe she got there by starting with Romeo and Juliet and thinking what would have happened if they survived, and they were in their 30s or something. Remember Juliet is supposed to be like 14 or so in the play, and Romeo maybe 16. And I totally agree with Charlotte that the video is not a daydream, but a flashback to their past lives; they had to find a way to make the "we were both young" line make sense, given that Taylor was so young (and stunningly beautiful and ready to go all in on those loving glances!), so past lives was a great way to do it.

Amanda Mittelman

Not Emily almost making the perfect rhyme: your eyes whisper have we met, my Romeo, your Juliet

Amanda Mittelman

I’m also having a real fathoming moment thinking about the fact that this was her perfect fantasy song, probably what she thought was the height of romance at the time, and it’s actually wise beyond what she knew then. We were BOTH young — they were both in the same stage of life. It wasn’t a would’ve could’ve should’ve moment or an all too well age gap. (Not to say that there’s inherently something wrong with age gaps) I personally think there’s just more potential for hurtful dynamics in relationships when one person is still really young and the other isn’t, and it’s so subtle, but so cool to see that she kind of innately knew this but still had to learn the lesson for herself.

Esther Newman

I love that we're re-entering our Fearless era! Cannot wait for your vault track breakdown <3 Also I know that you've said that you'll be reacting to Miley's new single/album (which I'm also so psyched for!) but I would love to hear your thoughts on Noah Cyrus' album too x

Linds K

Omg your theory about Speak Now TV coming after the Grammys makes so much sense but now I’m sad because I was really hoping she’d just drop it this Friday since it’s Friday the 13th lol! Surely she’s planning something for the first 13th of the year 🤔 maybe the next midnights video?! Any guesses or theories?

Maggie ✨🪷

Love Story will always be one of my favorite Taylor songs for all the nostalgia and whimsical romance that I loved growing up and still do 🥹💕 looove this reaction!!

mieke

i think taylor was picking the cherry because of the forbidden fruit trope! it’s a common metaphor for a person (or a thing in general) that’s irresistible, something/someone you‘re not able to stay away from. really fits the narrative of love story i think :) such a great breakdown!! so nostalgic 😭🫶🏻

Sam Williams

re: your comments about waiting until after the Grammys to announce Speak Now TV, that made me wonder if it's also dependent on whether ATW short film gets nominated for an Oscar?? Because she's definitely been making the push for that nomination, so I wonder if she's nominated if she would want to wait until that's over, too? Gah I hope not because that pushes us into March, but just a thought! Very excited to enter Fearless TV era and see what 2023 brings us! P.S. yes we love all the unhinged-ness you can throw at us :)

Jenna Aguirre

Will you two please react to Gracie’s debut album Good Riddance when it comes out on February 24th?

Laura Nyikos

PLEASE react to the behind-the-scenes of Taylor creating the Love Story, YBWM, and White Horse MVs!

Hannah S

Random but to answer your question about the ruffled neck tie I believe it’s called a cravat!

Curt Decker

I love fearless era for us!!

sofie sandrini

when Emily is like "if I were to write a song..." i'm dying, died dead

chatsandreacts

thanks for this lovely comment as always Donna, so grateful for you!! x

chatsandreacts

oh yess love this thought process, thanks for sharing as usual Mark :) and definitely will be doing the vault songs YAY!

chatsandreacts

ITS ALOT TO FATHOM... this was such an interesting perspective to fathom!!

chatsandreacts

ah I really hope somethings comes that would be so good, but gosh she is impossible to predict lately!! 🥲

Chelsea

I'm so stoked for Fearless era omg!!!

Steven Hanley

Love to see these appear, though I freaked out a bit when you said the Lurhmann Romeo and Juliet was in the 10 years previous to that, sure I adore Clare Danes and remember watching it but it feit earlier in my memory. 1996 it turns out, yes making current Leo behavior even more frightful.

Steven Hanley

Oh and love the unhinged style, it is iconic how so many videos or songs start and Emily has to pause immediately with things to say!

Maria Carmen

because you are MASTERMINDS ✨

sierra

loved this so excited 😭

Adélaïde K

Happy to be in Fearless TV era ! I think I'm in denial everytime I don't say that it is (might) in fact be my favourite album... ❤️

Hayley Crumbie

We were both young when I first saw you …… your opener 👀👀👀👀

Grace Tapulgo

I watched this music video like everyday as a child 😂 I was 8 when it came out and I swore I’d wear a dress like hers one day

Fahmeen

I’ll never forget putting the bridge of this song in my AIM away message hoping my crush would catch on 💀

Juliana

bonny your hair is giving 90s goddess icon and i simply must know how you style it!!!

Kim

Please watch the bts of her fearless music videos. It was on the DVD of the fearless platinum edition cd. Those are so good.

Isabel DaSilva

I love the interpretation of the historical parts being a fantasy because I always thought they were true flashbacks from when Taylor's character fell in love with the guy's character in like a past life or something.

Sarah Draper

I teach literature to 11 and 12 year olds in the US. We have an Intro to Shakespeare unit that comes around in January. I always show Taylor's Love Story music video. We break it down together as a class and its the best day EVER! I love that we are now in our Fearless era on here! Thank you guys!

Ashley Grady

Am I the only one who died when Bonny called JB a “Frightful Man”? 😂😂😂 I couldn’t love you ladies more if I tried.

C

speaking of journey to fearless, really hoping we get a speak now tour dvd reaction from you guys hehe

C

holiday collection 2023!!! putting it out there I have faith

Alice

OMG PLEASE DO THE VAULT TRACKS BREAK DOWN IVE BEEN WAITING FOR TWO YEARS 😂❤️

Jaden

I definitely approve of fearless era. Fearless is soooo offensive and I feel like it often gets overlooked because it was her second album. So excited to fathom fearless more!!!!

Adam Moore

With love story being one of Taylor’s song that has stood the test of time how she made a 1989 version just for the tour shows how much the song has done over time and the longevity of it

Jace Holmes

Could you guys react to the Big Machine Special albums with the commentary on each song? I want to hear your guys’ input on them

Juliana Martinez

when the cherry shot played in the video i immediately thought of the forbidden fruit. like their love is forbidden in the shakespeare play

Candy

OMG! Now I get it! Okay, I'll quit asking for the SN breakdown! Now that I'm working my way through Patreon videos, I'll simply relish the Fearless stuff for a bit. Love you gals!
