About the Ellen thing, I always found it interesting that during the lover era interview, Ellen never once asked about Joe or anything to do with her love life (as far as I remember) which is interesting considering it seemed to be 1 of her favourite topics. It makes me think that by that point, because taylor seemed to have control over her image, what interviews she did ect, that she was able to control what questions were asked and what was off limits.

Not to defend Ellen's general behavior, but my take is that Taylor loves a bit of dry humor and satirizing the spectacle others make of her dating life (Blank Space). I always got the sense that Taylor had agreed to and actively participated in those awkward/uncomfortable interviews with Ellen. Especially that one where Taylor says something about her publicist told her not to say anything. If you watch through to the end, it seems clear that Taylor is in on the joke. Honestly, Ellen's constant insistence that Taylor dish about her love life was so over-the-top to the point where it seemed like it was showcasing how problematic it was when other interviewers would try to do it more subtly.

Using my "guy" card, that guitar "contraption" is a Gibson EDS Double Neck guitar. It was made famous by Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, who played it quite often, particularly on live versions of "Stairway to Heaven," so he wouldn't have to change guitars in the middle. It consists of a 12-string guitar on top and a six-string guitar on the bottom. It appears incredibly cumbersome, but what do I know?

This was always my take as well that Taylor was in on the joke and Ellen was highlighting how Taylor gets treated by the press. The taped interview with the publicist really gave this vibe. The one where she is on the show and showing clips of guys? That one felt over the top and like Ellen took the joke too far or at least that is the vibe I got.

Interestingly, Olivia can still do it; there a bunch of videos on Youtube of her talking to radio guys and doing a live Instagram conversation as part of the promo for vampire. Omg she was iconic and thinking back on the time, this was PEAK Jake era for her. We’re fathoming the genius that Speak Now is and pointing out how she still has those young teenage looks about her from fearless, but as Emily said there are subtle changes that represents growth and maturity. She’s literally expressing herself so genuinely because that’s exactly what she was experiencing. Once she turned 21… only 1.5 months later - she realized her current relationship was over 😭 and the growth and art that came from that, it totally transformed her! Which to me (now) is why the Red era style/fashion was SO night and day from Speak Now.

I don't see any reference to an "ex" in the lyrics. What I see are some cleverly phrased, subtly-veiled lyrics that point toward her rift and disappointment with Taylor, someone whom she previously idolized. Not to mention, this rumor has been confirmed by several sources allegedly close to Olivia. I recommend going back and look at the lyrics closely - and then read between the lines. ;)

There are a million women in the world who are good singers, which is all that O.R is, a very beautiful starlet, who can sing, and who will make money for music companies for a very short time.. and then fade away.
