Juliana Martinez

you guys just keep feeding us ITS AMAZING. you should do extended cuts on all your youtube videos for patreon!!

Alberto

I think that the explanation behind the electricity of the “touch” is contained in the line “this could either break my heart or bring it back to life”, in the same way that an electric shock could literally kill you and break your heart but at the same time bring you back to life when your heart isn’t beating at all (like a defibrillator).

Tyler ✨

WAIT -- How did we get SO LUCKY to get this video??? SNTV getting the proper love and attention that it has always deserved?!?! SUPERIOR.

Tyler ✨

Taylor Swift fans are sooo well-fed in general, but Bonny and Emily TRUUUULY make sure we're extra well-fed. 🥰

The vibe of I Can See You vaguely gives 50s-60s surf guitar 🎸 sounds to me (I’m old 🤷‍♀️) loved it from the first strum!

Darren Robison

3 hourssss ....this is what dreams are made offfff <3 thank you bestiessss

Jenny M

It makes me wonder if in When Emma Falls In Love, Emma told her a story and Taylor was thinking this is a song i have to sing.

Katie LaFave

my vault track ranking 1. timeless 2. when emma falls in love 3. foolish one 4. i can see you 5. castles crumbling 6. electric touch

Katie LaFave

these vault tracks are SO SUPERIOR OMG

Mike

i deeply need you guys to fathom castles crumbling it’s simply the best song she’s ever written and it’s KILLING me that you aren’t fully fathoming 😭

sammi snyder

no my jaw was actually on the floor when you were talking about the bridges of castles crumbling, INNOCENT, and look what you made me do. straight chills.

Katie LaFave

that guitar between the 2nd chorus & the bridge of WEFIL is SO SUPERIOR!!! it's so speak now sounding!!! all i can say is AARON!!!

Katie LaFave

the foolish one outro is SO SUPERIOR!!!! it's one of my fav parts of the song

Ally ❤️

Also ships in This Love: “…losing grip on sinking ships you showed up just in time…”

Katie LaFave

i have had so many mental breakdowns over timeless!!! it's so superior!!! the 2nd chorus gets me every time

Scott

I also think the "if they only had a chance" line about the bad boys also may mean Emma never even gives the bad boy a chance even though she actually could change them. It's in contrast to Taylor who had given the bad boys chances, but also had been unable to change them when she did. I think this idea fits the difference between Emma Stone and Taylor's dating history at this time.

Abbs H

yall are absolutely DELIVERING w these videos ! thank you for keeping the speak now girlies fed <3

lyntara

my vault track ranking- foolish one when emma falls in love timeless i can see you electric touch castles crumbling

CDT

The pre chorus with both Harley and Taylor also fits Hayley so well with that was going on in her life at the time too! Some band members left Paramore around this time and it was quite the drama. You should do a little deep dive on google

Becky Tucker

My SN tv vault ranking- foolish one, when Emma falls in love, electric touch, timeless, I can see you, castles crumbling

Jenny MacRunnel

When Emma Falls in Love: You guys were talking about the piano bit, and I think the reason it doesn't sound sad isn't so much the actual notes or chords, but the way they are played. Its not a whole note, whole note, whole note, etc....its 3 Whole notes, then a half note, then a quarter note, then a half note (I believe), so the tempo is changing it it feels more "plucky" as opposed to strong chords. Castles Crumbling: WOW, that was an amazing pickup, I did not catch that connections with Innocent and Look What You Made Me Do either! Foolish One: I feel the same way about this song. That outro is the best part, and why this song has risen for me. It was my least favorite at first listen, not anymore! Timeless: SAMESIES FOR ME EMILY! OMG, I LOVE this song so so much, its definitely my favorite Speak Now track now! It is definitey a masterpiece! Thank you guys so much for this extended video, I appreciate you guys so much! <3

Taylah Louise

The way she holds the headlights note is the reason electric touch is my fav SN vault song

Sara woods

💜💜💜💜💜💜

BrooklynSwifty

8:05 is the appropriate time to arrive for an 8:00 date 🤣

Jenna Bolmgren

The harmony on “headlights” during the bridge breaks me every. single. time. 😭 (at 13:13 on the YT version 1️⃣3️⃣ 🫣🤯)

Andy G

I know you guys talked a bit about Drops of Jupiter in this, so I wanted to add some extra fathoming to that song for anyone who might not know. The song is about a girl who needed "space" from a relationship and the writer uses the word "space" as a double entendre; space from the relationship but also literal (outer)space where she would get you know, drops of Jupiter in her hair and things like that. It's really a brilliant song

Amanda Watts

Castles Crumbling is literally one of my top 5 favorite taylor songs. The haunting production, offensive melodies, and the lyrics!!!! Her secret song performance made me love it a million times more, it was SO GOOD. It’s incredible. I actually relate a lot to these lyrics in a way, which is ALSO why I feel so connected to Reputation… but I also get how majority of people wouldn’t relate to these things and therefore don’t like them as much. It’s such a niche situation to be in lol. I’m a content creator in a small, niche art hobby community and went through a “micro cancellation” 3 years ago lol. So I really relate to Taylor’s life story of being universally liked for the art you create, then some crazy shit happens & everyone bands together to hate you off of a rumor (because people love to build you up to watch you fall).. but then eventually not only rebuild from that, but it be 10x bigger/better than before. There are so many Rep lyrics I love because of this (they’re burning all the witches even if you aren’t one.. so light me up) sooo long story short (pun intended), I tend to gravitate to these songs for that reason but REGARDLESS I think I’d still love castles crumbling bc it’s my type of song lol, melody and production wise!

Emily Romero

Electric touch is definitely my driving song! You captured that energy perfectly!!

boliaam

after watching the Castles Crumbling fathoming, i have some things I'd like to say, and it might actually be a little bit long, but i'll try to summary it the best i can. first things first: RUDE OF YOU, it's a perfect song i don't know what you want me to say. i'll start then explaining the best i can causse i'm not that good on explaining stuff. 1. the first part where she starts with "once i had an empire" before she actually starts singing, for me it sounds more like she has been mourning. the imagery i get is that you're sitting on a bench at a park or something, and she's so devastated that she's walking with no direction just mumbling these words over and over again due to trauma and fearing her empire is over due to something out of her control. and i don't know if it's just my brain, but at the beggining it sounds like she's coming from the right, and at the end sounds like she's going away to the left. SO FOR ME it's like she sees you there, she stops mumbling and starts telling you this story of how she had an empire and her castles are crumbling down now. 2. the part where Em says that she doesn't like where she repeats that sentence, i'm sorry but i don't understand, cause whenever she wants to repeat a sentence, she does, whenever she feels like it's necessary, she does. she does that in out of the woods to express the anxiety of that feeling, and the same happens here. she is so insecure about everything that has happened, that first time she says it she says WHY you wouldn't want to know her, which is that she thinks she will let you down, cause she thinks she let everybody down (cause she thinks everyone hates her like explained on the bridge). the second time she says it, like Bonnie said, is the present time, she's now telling you that you wouldn't want to know her NOW, cause it would be better if you knew her during fearless, where she was great and everyone loved her, which further emphasizes my theory that she was walking around mumbling and now she's telling you this story of her life. 3. what i get from the dynasty lyric is also related to her bringing back the country to the people's eyes. country was always something that was present in people's minds before pop, rock and punk came up to rock that world, so i was thinking that maybe her, her label and her loved ones always thought she was the salvation of country music, but Taylor didn't want to STAY in country, and the "held that grudge" lyric further emphasizes that for me, feels like it was something she wanted to do, but the people around her didn't want it, which brings me to that- 3.5. -offensive addon of that pre-chorus that, of course, we all love that, the best part of the song (also when she says power went to my head and now she's singing on her head voice??? offensive) . but what i get from that is that she thought she could do everything due to the success of fearless, and when she tried to do something different (being in a movie, for example), she was criticized by it, and now she's alone cause everyone tried to warn her to stay in country music and do whatever was already working, and the promises that she never kept are those that she would revive country music. BUT ALSO i get that it can totally relate to john meyer and stuff, in my head the country works more due to the song not being romantic-sided at all, so i wanted to keep it that way. 4. i also think that the "ah"s in the bridge are related to innocent! and now speaking of the bridge, i think that evrything you said was on point, but again with the repetition of "screaming" and "hate me". the screaming reminds me so much of the booing at the vmas. why the repetition? well, the first "screaming" is when they were booing and she was realizing that, then the second "screaming" is when she thought they were booing HER, cause first she sings that they're screaming at the palace's front gate, then she sings that they're screaming that they hate her, so one happens first, then she realizes what they're actually screaming (i tried to explain the best i could, sorry). the "hate me" part is the same thing, she first is like "oh they hate me", but then the second one is filled with exhaustion, with deep sadness and defeat: "never wanted you to hate me". this one also ties back to my theory that she is talking to YOU, which was just there when she was mumbling by and stopped you to tell her story. 5. finally she ends the song with "you don't wanna know me now", which makes me think that she's done telling her story to you, and since she thinks you don't want to know her now that she told you everything, she's starting to walk away from you and goes back to the mumbling and mourning. and like i said before, sounds like she's walking away from you, and she's just so traumatized that she can't think of anything else besides this, so she keeps reminding herself that "once she had an empire" and now she thinks she doesn't have it anymore. just to clarify: this isn't my favorite of the vault tracks ( i DO relate to the lyrics) but i took SO LONG to fathom it that now i just have so much apreciation for it, i can't let this pass.

Nicole Wolslegel

Can you tell Us where you got your dresses they are gorgeous!

Amanda Mittelman

Warning to ivy stans: you cannot convince me that When Emma Falls in Love and Ivy are not directly connected. 1. Palm of the hand lyrics 2. The melody of outer space is just like how Taylor sings “hand” in the chorus of Ivy 3. Emma Stone’s real name is Emily and it’s rumoured that Ivy is inspired by Emily Dickinson 4. She’s the kind of book that you can’t put down—Emily Dickinson is one of the most well known female American writers 5. (Both songs have three verses and superior bridges)

Sheila Ellis

As a stan of Taylor and Haley Williams, Castle's Crumbling is perfect for both their stories and I simply love the song. Hayley's superior. Her voice and song writing are amazing and she's had an interesting career with the band and going solo for a spell, would love for you two to fathom one day. 🫶🏽

raheel

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!! Guys pls tell me I’m not the only one!!! I have not seen one other person ever say this BUT When Taylor sings „ WHEN EMMA FALLS APART, ITS WHEN SHES ALONE“ the melody reminds me SOOOO MUCH OF JASON DERULOS „riding solo“ LMAO I can’t get over it hahahaha it’s just so funny how the brain works sometimes but it’s been driving me insane 😂 anyway thx for blessing my morning routine with an almost 3h video!!! Iconic queens 💜

Cecilia Sparke

This is JUST what I needed on a Monday morning!! Thanks girlies and you both look epic in those dresses 💜

lyntara

em fathoming that the "ahs" in castles crumbling are similar if not the same as in innocent really helped me to fathom the song in a new light. it's not my fave of the vaults by any means but i feel like interpreting it as her writing how she felt after the night of the vmas, and then seeing how she chose to release innocent *instead* of this - she really was kinder than he deserved. instead of choosing to talk about the pain of that happening she chose to forgive. i love her so much 😭

Nin Reckermann

I can't believe Emily just almost perfectly quoted the beginning of State of Grace without noticing (7:10)

Roxyy

I Can See You's bridge is soooo illegal, it's one of my favorites cause it's just so cheeky and flirty

Justus Kerstin

I've always interpreted the lyrics "In a crowded room a few short years ago" as in their wedding, like in the chapel. And then "And sometimes there's no proof you just know" as her being so sure of this relationship that she doesn't need any proof, she just KNOWS how superior they are together! "You're always gonna be mine" for me also really ties into the wedding theme of being together forever!

Linds K

I interpreted in Castles Crumbling that the line “ones I loved tried to help so I ran them off, now I sit alone behind walls of regret” as actually being about Taylor Lautner not John Mayer. But like, Taylor was the one who she ran off, and then she was behind her walls of regret wishing she could “go back to December”. It would make sense if the timeline had anything to do with the VMA situation since they broke up after that.

Linds K

Also in Castles Crumbling, the “falling down like promises I never kept” I didn’t think she meant the walls were falling down, I thought she was saying SHE was falling down. I imagined her sliding down the wall, falling, and the wall was her “wall of regret”

MarkH

This takes me back to the old feature-movie length Chats and Reacts videos! So much to digest here. What is astonishing about the Speak Now vault for me is how even and high in quality these are. It is hard to pick a favorite, and this is also clear in the steaming numbers, as they all have very close to the same number of streams (except I Can See You, which is far and away the most streamed). One more thing: there is someone else who writes boatloads of songs as self-therapy and never records most of them--Olivia Rodrigo. This is one of the reasons I think Olivia will have a long successful career, even if she never reaches the ridiculous heights that Taylor has reached.

Lizzie Page

Electric Touch is giving HEAVY Travis/Taylor vibes lately 😎

alex

Thank you Emily for especially pointing out the „whoaha“ in the second chorus of I can see you because i love it SO much… no one around me gets my enthusiasm about how she sings it 🥲

MarkH

One more quick point that I think you don't mention: When Emma Falls in Love is a banjo song! Not all of it, because it is goes from piano to electric guitar first, but there is a significant banjo component.

alex

Also I can see you is for all the false god, so it goes, ready for it, dress.. girlies and I’m proudly part of this group and will forever be grateful that she gave us this song to add to our collection 🤩

Sarah Sandell

Oh my god this is such a blessing😭 3 hours of you talking about the best vault tracks yet! You are spoiling us💜💜💜

Erica R

This video made me fathom the connection between “wishful thoughts forget to mention” and “my mind forgets to remind me”

Sara Medina

OMG THIS FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS

Maya L. Davis

Music major here! WEFIL is indeed in a major key :) However, I notice that Taylor often uses major keys even in her sadder songs - Forever and Always piano version is major, as are Castles Crumbling and even Exile. She tends to use minor for her more "mysterious"/badass songs - some examples are No Body No Crime, Vigilante Sh*t, the verses of ...ready for it?, and Don't Blame Me

RL

🥹🤍you spoil us!!!! this is practically the length of the eras tour of pure fathoming and wisdom!!!🤍✨love you both!

Emily

you guys should react to Olivia rodrigo’s performance at BBC live lounge!!! get him back & stick season!!!!

Cristina

Just another idea... You could react and maybe rank Taylor recent fall fashion or in general

Makayla

aren’t you two looking stunning!!!💜

Ally ❤️

Agree with Emily about Timeless. It really is the best song on SN TV, and it’s CRIMINAL that we may never have gotten to hear it!

Ally ❤️

So I am fathoming… here is Taylor in Fearless Tour era writing a song about old black and white photos and the love depicted there… Fast forward to Red era Taylor writing, “we took a Polaroid of us and discovered the rest of the world was black and white and we were in screaming color.” The transition from hopeful wishing to discovery of momentous love - the kind you don’t put down. She is a whole universe library of lyrical connections… her mind! 🤯

Ally ❤️

A few more thoughts about Timeless: - I have always thought she wrote that last verse more currently. It’s too much like Gorgeous m, Dress, and Mastermind… and I think in 2022, when she was in the thick of this re-record, Joe and she were still end game for her. Just my opinion. - I love Timeless as the album closer. It has elements of Long Live (looking at pictures of the past), The Story of Us (the dusty book telling a tragic love story), Enchanted (it all began when you said hello in a crowded room), and pulling all these lyrical echoes forward to wrap up the album is just so masterful. Taylor really is a once in a century artist. There is no one like her; she was destined for this…She really is Timeless 🥹

Katie LaFave

you guys didn't play the last chorus of castles crumbling, but it's deeply superior because she holds out some of the notes longer like when she says "you don't wanna know me now." she specially does a whole run with the word "now." it's just so superior!!

Kara Norton

Coming here to say this! Yes!

Kara Norton

Foolish one “now I’m sliding down the wall with my head in my hands” —-> maroon “sobbing with your head in your hands/aint that the way shit always ends” like the most recent relationship!

Jenna Bolmgren

Speak Now came out on Oct. 25, 2010, and I know it’s basically impossible to compare the tie in to Castles Crumbling, but Kanye released “Monster” on Oct. 23, 2010.

Nish

One thin I was wondering with castles crumbling was the line “you don’t wanna know me” and “you don’t wanna know me now” was maybe they are to mean 2 different things, 1. “You don’t wanna know me, I will just let you down”: Taylor saying don’t try to know me, this won’t end well. 2. “You don’t wanna know me now”: Taylor being sad that nobody is interested in knowing her now.. (now that her castle has crumbled).. Does that make sense? That will explain why she repeated it, because they mean completely different things.

Tess7

I spent the weekend away with the hubby, celebrating our anniversary. As we were driving home today, I saw the notification that a new video was up and I couldn’t wait to get home and watch it lol 3 hours of Speak Now vault tracks?! Yes! I love all 6 of these songs, but my favorites are I Can See You and When Emma Falls In Love. When I hear WEFIL I can’t get it out of my head for days. It just touches me for some reason. Timeless also gets me in the heart and I don’t know what else to say. I enjoyed this so much, thank you both for the time and effort you put into these videos. Thanks to Ari chicken too!

Mequet

Can I just say that one of my absolute favorite things about these long videos is how disheveled you both look at the end? Lmao it cracks me up every time and reminds me of those memes of little kids before and after school! I love how much you both get so into it and really feel the music and lyrics and dance and have such a pure joyous time!! Love y’all both and please never stop being you!

Darya 🤍

Guys this is random to put here but I don’t have discord on my phone… I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of whether she’s headed for overexposure again like the og 1989 era. That would obviously align really well with the themes. At first I thought she was just brilliant enough to now know how to walk that line between unprecedented worldwide fame and overexposure, but now I’m wondering if she’s purposely leading toward overexposure in order to genuinely fuck with her reputation in a very real way once again. Only to have the vault tracks in rep destroy us with how accurate they were then and still remain now. Does that make sense??

luna magna

my favorite part of the I Can See You Bridge is definitely her added vocals when she sings "secret mission" as if she is talking on a walkie talkie

GIE

I second this!

Erin

i think i would pass away

santuna7

Sad empty town = ghost town??? Maybe? I see connections in electric tough being post dear John

Sam Williams

I’m only at the end of the electric touch breakdown and I know you say it but I just have to echo. Patrick’s vocals are PERFECTION. What he does at the of the bridge? in the background of the last chorus????? As a girl who was in the pit at Fall Out Boy shows in 2005, I almost passed out when I heard this for the first time. It JUST SO AMAZING!!!

Maria Carmen

3 hours breaking down SN vault?! YES PLEASE!!!! 💜 Superior analysis as always, I had a mental breakdown about 'When Emma falls in love'!!!

Ana

I don't think she would do that again. Being cancelled in 2016 was clearly a very low time in her life, and she's referenced how difficult going through that was multiple times. I just don't see her attempting to ruin her reputation at this stage in her career to have to turn around and rebuild it again.

Shyla Hoffpauir

Wowww i was watching this at work and I had to try so hard not to cry during timeless breakdown 😭😭😭 it was immediately my favorite as well and I cannot believe we have it 😫🤭♥️

Sacred_sunflower

No stop wait I’m sorry I can’t… I first felt as though ICSY is about John & when I took a second look at the chorus it says “I could see you” “what would you do” I’m sorry but I can’t get it out of my head that there could be a connection to the “should’ve known” in dear John and “would’ve could’ve should’ve” on midnights 😳 am I crazy?

Alyssa Malecha

It simply needs to be fathomed that the guitar in I Can See You SOUNDS LIKE THE GUITAR IN A MOVIE SCENE WHEN THEY ARE DOING A HEIST OR A SECRET MISSION. AND IN THE BRIDGE IN THE BACKGROUND YOU CAN HEAR TAYLOR IN ONE EAR LIKE ITS THROUGH AN EAR PIECE THAT YOU WOULD USE IF YOU WERE DOING A SECRET MISSION. WHAT THE FUCK TAYLOR AND JACK

Meech

Might of already been said but wanted to say Mailbox also referencing Email mailbox and we all know from Jessica Simpson how john loved to write emails.

Ava Jeffs

timeless is my favorite love song she's ever written.....ITS TRUE PERFECTION and it coming after foolish one is sooooo perfect, hopeless romantic tay will always win out

Alyssa Malecha

Thank you Emily for noticing the background vocals in Castles Crumbling and how they connect to Innocent and lwymmd!!!! I swear I was the only person who has noticed!!!!

kyra andrea

more to fathom…. taylor’s mom andrea was born in 1958 ;))) timeless

Cara M

Can I say that the positive sound from the piano in Emma falls in love brings me to tears almost every listen 😆 the empathy in those chords makes me cry

Adélaïde K

I feel so seen with your appreciation of Foolish one, it was instantly one of my 2 favorite VT on first listen. The production is fun and the lyrics hit very hard, my 20's self needed this song ! How dare she keep it this long...

Cristina

"She'll call you out she'll put you in your place" also ties in perfectly with the speak now concept where maybe previously she had moments where she didn't know the right thing to say so she had to write this confessional album, but around this time she learned (maybe from Emma) to speak up for herself

Rick V

This is my TS TV future prediction that I’ve been saying for a year. (you read it right here) Reputation will be next. I know not exactly going out on the limb. “Taylor Swift” album will be last. And when she releases it, it will include many vault tracks where she will have many superstar country collabs celebrating and honoring her country roots. She might even have a tv/movie special where she plays with them all live. I’m just saying, I could easily see this happening.

Nitya Jain

You two make me just so happy ☺️ so glad I joined Patreon 💜💜💜💜💜

Dina

The album opens with Mine: "you are the best thing that's ever been mine" and closes with Timeless: "you still would've been mine"

Maya

I just want "the higher you go, the faller you fall" on a t-shirt please

Laura Bolanos

The flame reference: so many but one of the ones I have always loved is from Dress - “and if we get burned at least we were electrified” 🥹 help.

Joe Weaver

New Patreon app bringing this into modern times instead of 2010 technology. Love it.

Becky Tucker

Have you guys considered using the chat feature in Patreon? I’m not able to figure out the discord

Margaux

can someone from australia let me know what tea they drink? intrigued and want to try to get into tea!!!

Miriam Hart

When Emma Falls In Love is giving Maid of Honor speech… wasn’t Taylor in Emma’s wedding? Maybe she got the inspiration from having to give a speech at her wedding 🤔

Alison

It was incredible to get to see Timeless performed live, I didn't even know all of the words yet but it was a mesmerizing performance and the song will always be extra special to me because of it.

Nour

I feel like Castles Crumbling may have also been referring in part to the period after the mic grab where everybody was accusing her of "playing the victim"-- she talked about the situation only a handful of times but I particularly remember after her The View interview about the situation she got a *lot* of backlash from people saying she was being way too dramatic about the whole thing and playing the victim. We know that critique did stick with her since it came up again in the LWYMMD music video too, so I always interpreted Castes Crumbling to be about that! People used to trust her and find her credible and after that incident that faltered a bit. May also be why she then avoided speaking about the incident (or Kanye) for so long afterwards?

chatsandreacts

Hi Debra, thank you so much we really appreciate that and so happy you feel that way 💖

chatsandreacts

omg thank you Jessica we really appreciate that 🫶🏼

chatsandreacts

OUR FATHER AND SAVIOUR AARON. Honestly did i even exist before folklore?

Nele

almost 3 hours? ICONIC !! timeless always has me in a trance when i listen to it.. something else. also omg a family tree video would be ICONIC and so fun haha need to see it !! <333

KaiteGT

I related and was drawn to Castle Crumbling as a recovering perfectionist when I stopped being " perfect " I felt like my world was falling apart, and I was letting everyone down at the same time this song was released. Timeless is still my favorite, and want it as my wedding song.

Zosia Dabrowski

Electric Touch: as you were drawing similarities to other first date songs you simply FORGOT to say that Electric Touch is pre-date Begin Again!! Very "I turn the lock and put my headphones on, you always said you didn't get this song but I do". And also with all the fire references, it is very much indicative of her being in her "love is burning red" era of life. WEFIL: With the "all the bad boys would be good boys" lyric, I see it as really reflective of the time it was written in, because I remember becoming aware of dialogue in the maybe early 2010s around the typical fiction trope of "good girl fixes and improves the bad boy love interest" and how it reflects lots of people's natural relationship patterns but also encourages the fantasy that you can "fix" someone by loving them enough.

I am not saying this sarcastically, I genuinely am so happy for the both for the both of you that you don't relate to "Castles Crumbling" it's the fantasy version of Nothing New, this is me trying, mirrorball, and evermore for me. It's one of her most lyrically beautiful and emotional songs for me.

lizzy

I totally agree that castles crumbling connecting to rep is *a lot* and for me it's particularly that castles crumbling feels like a nightmare/dream of her anxiety that she's not enough, that everyone will turn against her... it's her greatest fears and THEY HAPPEN. The agony and pain in her lyrics, and realising it might seem overdramatic and unrealistic but it became her REALITY?! Heartbreaking.

UNRELATED BUT I NEED TO PET ARI 😭😭

No I don’t think anyone understands timeless IS one of my favorite taylor songs of all time like top 3 it’s perfect I can’t

Abby

i'm sorry i just need help fathoming timeless😭 i LOVE the concept think i'm just not a history girlie and just don't really enjoy listening to it IM SO SORRY I KNOW IM WRONG

Shannon Gilhooly

Bonny i will forever think of you grasping your chest when you heard that 3rd verse of WEFIL. I cried with you 😭

Jordan Rodriguez

Do I want to sit here and watch a 3 hour movie?.... yes, yes I do💜 absolutely OFFENSIVE💜

Elis Llinares

I don’t know if anyone has had this same impetus as me and spoken about it, but… every time I hear the outro of Timeless, I expect Taylor to rhyme 1944 with “yours”. “In a crowded street in 1944 You would have been mine, I would have been yours.” But she doesn’t which makes it so not obvious to my ears. And I love it! I love that it just happens in my brain as if she meant to do it, then didn’t…

Shannon Gilhooly

Bonny i feel like you and i get choked up by the same lyrics. The “and i was forced to marry another man” had me in tears probably for the first 15 listens

Jule

Something I was sure you guys would reference, but didn't: When she sings "Its 08:05 and I see two headlights" in Electric touch, it's really giving "It's 2:00 am in my room, Headlights pass the window pane". Am I the only one who's immediately reminded of this lyric?

Léa

I feel that the line "they keep watchful eyes on us" in I Can See You could fit with the Taylor Lautner narrative as it reminds me of what she said in the SNTV prologue : "I experienced the weirdness of trying to get to know a boy while a swarm of paparazzi surrounds the car." Their relationship was highly public at the time and everyone's eyes were on them.

Léa

About Castles Crumbling, I interpret the palace front gate imagery as if her castle/palace is the stage. When she's on stage, she's feeling like a queen in her palace and people are chanting her name in concerts but on the VMA stage, they were booing her. The stage is usually a place where she's feeling loved but at this precise moment she is being humiliated. And to add to Em's commentary about how it can feel a bit over dramatic, I remember Taylor talking about it in Miss Americana : how she had built her whole belief system on people clapping for her and how this incident was the reason for a lot of psychological paths she went down.

This may have been mentioned before in the comments, but the "Goodbye screamin' in the silence" lyric from Foolish One just brings me to You Are In Love on 1989. The chorus of that song goes: You can hear it in the silence (Silence), silence (Silence), you You can feel it on the way home (Way home), way home (Way home), you You can see it with the lights out (Lights out), lights out (Lights out) You are in love, true love You are in love Not in the sense of the sadness of a break up, but just how she refers to silence and learning/feeling so much from it. Just thought it was interesting.

Brittany DeLara

Emilyyyyy. I really need your response to this one….think back to when Lover was announced and you saw the track list for the first time. Did you see Paper Rings and immediately think of Half of My Heart and wonder if it was about John? I have to know as a late blooming Swiftie that didn’t get to experience that.

Martina

But Emma got married years after

Miriam Hart

Ope! Than nevermind haha I wasn’t sure of the timeline or it was even Emma’s wedding I was thinking of

Noa

Another rep connection is when she say in i can see you 'i could see you being my addiction' is linked to 'my drug is my baby I'll be usin' for the rest of my life' in dont blame me

Lauryn Brown

What you guys said about the 1989 vault tracks being "insane" like she says i still cant fathom that because idk how anything can top this collection of vault tracks!! Each one is so detailed and has so many layers like these have been so much better than the Fearless and Red collections in that aspect

Jenny MacRunnel

Watching again! Well, 1989 vault did beat this one, I can't believe it because these are so superior!

Tess7

I like both sets of vault tracks, I can’t decide which I like better lol

Carlie Leistikow

I am still not over these vault tracks, I haven’t been able to move onto 1989 vault tracks since these ones have been taking my whole life.

Saray Checo

I wish I could put into words how much I LOVE these breakdowns. It makes my day! I sit in my couch with a notebook writing notes as you go. I learn so much about Taylor and love how you go into the details about what each sentence means. It’s like a book club! 💜

Camille

I think timeless is probably the second best song she has ever written. You can literally just make a whole movie out of it. Love you guys

Amy Versprille

So - that line in When Emma Falls in ❤️ - she calls you out, she’ll put you in your place - then she says I’m learning - then she releases Dear John and calls him out and puts him in his place!!! OMG!!! Perfect vault song. Emma helped give her the confidence to put out Dear John!

Nicole

Thank you Em for your tireless defense of Speak Now as an album and an era. Sincerely - fellow Speak Now stan

Vilma🧚🏻✨💘💅🏼🫶🏼

Omg I just watched the extended version for the first time and Foolish one.....😵‍💫 I seriously misunderstood the whole part of "You got her on your arm and me in the wings, I'll get your longing glances but she'll get your ring" I thought it was "you got hurt on your arm and me in the wings" like angel wings idk?! And then I just thought that she was talking about some future girl who'll get the ring sometime. This bridge just got a completely new meaning🫠

Breezy Bumbles

Maybe Castles Crumbling is the antithesis of Innocent. Or it’s about that precise moment when she literally thought they were booing her and the aftermath while Innocent is her healing from that experience.

Foxy_Tatty

I have a legitimate complaint…. This video was not long enough!!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷 love you guys!

Breezy Bumbles

You’re probably going to say this 5 minutes after I am done typing but I just fathomed that in Electric Touch she talks about how this new relationship will “break my heart or bring it back to life” and that’s literally what electricity does. It either stops your heart or restarts your heart. Like literally. But also metaphorically.

Breezy Bumbles

Electric Touch is giving So High School.

Breezy Bumbles

It’s interesting that Taylor sang Drops of Jupiter on the Speak Now tour. There’s a connection to When Emma Falls In Love from the same time period.

Breezy Bumbles

Please tell me When Emma Falls In Love is about Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield! I have no idea but I absolutely adore Andrew Garfield!

Breezy Bumbles

Timeless is the most Taylor Swift song that ever Taylor Swifted.

Breezy Bumbles

Trumpets are Jack Antonoff’s “narcotics” that he puts into all of his songs. And that’s why we’re still singing along. Lol! I think this might be my 458th comment on this video….🤦‍♀️😳

Marisa

I can't even imagine what you could have possibly cut out of the YouTube version because every second of this is gold.

Annika 📍Melb, AU

So what you’re saying is that Taylor Easter Egged the Vault track Timeless on a livestream BEFORE OG Speak Now was released!? Her mind 🤯 (jk jk I haven’t completely lost the clown plot 🤣)

Ferone

a 3 hour video of my favourite youtube’s talking about the best album to exist, specifically the vaults??? time to get high and watch the shit out of this 💜

Tess7

Stopping by again in August 2025….the I Can See You portion of this video is a mini video of its own lol I love that song so much 🫶😄

Debbie B

I so loved your fathoming of Timeless. I love that song and it is so underrated by the fandom. Thank you!!!🙏
