I hope y'all enjoy this episode! and that you don't mind the sounds of me painting my nails, haha. I talk streaming, anime, morning pages (I just started this week!), and some self-discovery type work i'm doing. I love you so much!!

things mentioned:

  • beastars, the anime with the hot wolf and handsome deer
  • BNA (brand new animal), the new anime by studio trigger (the same studio that made Promare!!)
  • if you want to learn a little bit more about morning pages, you can watch this video by Julia Cameron, the founder of the Artist's way
  • this is my twitch channel, if you wanna check it out ;•)
  • and this is Arden Rose and KickthePJ, the two streamers I mentioned! (both YouTubers first, but they've been focusing more on streaming I think since lockdown started)

You are doing great, Chey <3 It's inspiring to hear about you taking care of yourself with morning pages, and the realization behind having the "other you" come out in those morning pages is super relatable. I am definitely also super hard on myself too and struggle not to worry about letting people down. It's hard! I've learned sometimes that means I even put myself second in terms of being agreeable even when I want something to go a different way. Either way, self discover is always a good thing :)

Wanda the Brave

also -- I'm so happy to hear that you're loving streaming -- I would love for there to be a discord! It would be so cool to connect with everyone in one spot :D

I placed an order KNOWING there would be hundreds of others....if it were possible to fulfill my order last, please do so. I know it’s probably not possible.

Alison Kirby

LOL I had to edit my comment because I was coy and was like “oh I shouldn’t use my real name” when it’s like ... right there ...

bahaha, all good!! and i just fulfill the orders in the order they came in! which can be hard to explain to people that wonder why their order hasn't been filled yet cause everyone ordered on virtually the same day but it feels weird to say like "hi i got 900 orders in 48 hours, pls be patient idk where your order falls in the queue"

same!! i do everything i can not to ruffle any feathers but i'm realizing that sometimes feathers need ruffling! and sometimes i just need to say no, and be honest about how i feel and people are often way more understanding that i think they'll be. and great!! i may see if i can expand my discord stuff to include patreon peeps...

Kayla Alarcon

Howdy chey! I haven’t been able to tune into a steam of yours yet due to scheduling conflicts but I hope to do so very soon! As far as discord servers go I’m all for having one for Patrons. I’d love to chat with other like minded arty folk about life and art and stuff. I want to thank you so much for sharing bits of your mental health journey with us. I know it’s not easy to do, and I appreciate hearing from someone who is also goin through it. You’re a real gem! Good luck packin orders love!! 💫

a thousand times yes! sometimes feathers do need ruffling, and it's okay to be honest, even if that means saying no. definitely still learning that too!

I just updated to the $10 tier and I am very excited to start listening to these podcats! I don't use a discord a lot (just one group chat with some friends) but I would love a twitch/patreon server! Quarantine can be kind of lonely so I think it would be fun to have an opportunity to interact with other people with common interests! :)

I feel your struggle with trying to grow out your nails. I started getting gel manicures at the start of the year to try and curb it, and the carrot approach has really helped! It's a bit pricey, but I love how it makes my nails look. (I'm choosing to ignore my bitten cuticles and skin around my nails 😅) For Twitch streamers, I love ToastyHere, Glowpinkstah, and ChristopherOdd. All have great streams and are nice and chill. Hope the streaming goes well for you, and best of luck packing orders! Think mine shipped last week, and I'm excited for it to arrive.

Oh my goodness.. the nail-biting and nail painting... I sat down with my nail polish to stop myself from biting, then I hit play to hear you were doing the exact same! I totally relate! The struggles... I am feeling really proud of myself at the moment though as I've managed for the first time in my entire life not to bit my nails for more than 3 months!!?? Huzzah! I am still working on my ED (excoriation disorder/dermatillomania) though. I've gone a week without hurting my skin, which is big for me, but it's so incredibly difficult! RE podcasts and having background noise while working, I started listening to MFM a couple of months ago after hearing you mention it and I love it!! SO great. I just found a podcast called 'ArtCurious' the other day which is also fantastic! I recommend giving it a try :)

You make incredible things 💜 I don’t know if you listen to Honest Designers Podcast but they are an awesome group!

yeah i'm gonna be looking more into it today! i think i may have one big server and have some patreon exclusive channels within that server, to keep everything tidy in one spot :D

Mandi Farrell

It’s still a little new but I’m hoping to create something inclusive and positive for gamers 😊

Hi Cheyenne! I’m just now catching up to the podcast episodes I’ve missed! Congratulations on your store reopening and the influx of orders - aaah! So happy for you I’m rooting on you to get those orders through at your own pace 💛 and I’ve just recently started watching some twitch videos (so recent that I don’t even know if I should call them videos or broadcasts or what have you HAHA!). I’ve been watching Nancy Elle’s co-working videos there and they’re great to just have some company while doing work. She also has a really great playlist that just gets me to focus so I’d recommend her channel 😊 And I’d love joining you on livestreams too, if you decide to go for it with patreon exclusive channels! 🥰
