would love your feedback on crochet video ideas! (Patreon)

Hello my dear friends!! I have been BRIMMING with ideas for things I want to make as "crochet tutorial" videos -- the big three I've been thinking of have been:

  • mini crochet star garland
  • a cute coaster design (the one from my last vlog)
  • and some kind of granny square tutorial

I was thinking of maybe putting the star garland and the coaster in one video, but since I want to talk things through kinda thoroughly (I really don't wanna go overboard, I know the general masses aren't interested in a 30 minute crochet tutorial even though I most certainly am lolol), I was thinking it might be better to keep the videos separate? So I can cap each one at about 20 minutes-ish. What do y'all think? Would you want them in one video? 

Also! On the granny square video -- there are SO many fun kinds of granny square designs out there, with lots of good tutorials, so I worry that my video on say, a floral granny square or a starburst granny square might be a bit unnecessary. Again, what do y'all think? Should I make a granny square video at all?

Pictured above is the first half a pencil pouch I'm trying to make!! I'm gonna make another panel that's exactly the same, single crochet them together, make a little zippered lining pouch and then stitch that inside heheh (I would use my sewing machine but I'm still so scared of it, I bought it in 2020 and haven't even turned it on...maybe I just need to bite the bullet and buy a zipper foot rip) if this pencil pouch turns out okay, I will definitely be turning it into a tutorial!!

I think keep them as separate videos and would love all 3! I am definitely interested in the videos (I will eventually learn how to crochet ahaha)

I think I would prefer the projects separately so that it would be easy to refer back to certain techniques

I think separate for each tutorial is best, especially if you ever want them available to the public (vs just us here). And you can totally sew! A zipper foot might already be with your machine, as the usually come with it. If you haven’t checked already, check for any compartments on the machine. Most have a little cubby to keep spares.

I think separate videos could be great! you could make them part of an intermittent series! I just started teaching myself to crochet, so I’m looking forward to seeing them! maybe you could also talk about your favorite supplies (if you haven’t already)? 😁

I think separate would be cool! I’m super interested in the star garland! I feel like my art desk area could use something cute like that 🥰 I’m still so new that I can hardly even start a chain sadly 😅😩

I think separate videos would be great! I am a very early beginner of the crochet world so going into depth is super helpful! I am also obsessed with granny squares so would love a video from you on them!!

Tbh I'm a big fan of long videos, but it would probably be more cohesive to put them in separate videos. And then you don't have to stress over cutting them short. And with the granny squares, you could make one longer tutorial where you do a couple of different styles? It might help the video to stand out a bit. Not that you need it, you're perf 😊 regardless I think if you just go with your instincts and make the content that interests you, it'll all work out. Just make what you would want to watch! Personally I think we're bereft of crochet content on YouTube so please make all the things!

I love the idea of having separate videos and making them into a series! I think that would be so fun! I feel like even though there's a lot of people doing similar tutorials everyone teaches differently and for me there's times where I watch like 5 of the same video before I find one that actually makes it click for me so I feel like even if it's a similar kind of tutorial it could still be helpful! 😁🌈

I’d watch all them! But yeah separating each into it’s own tutorial video would probably be easiest for those following along. I recently picked crochet back up and I’d like to try one of your projects ☺️💖

I personal enjoy crochet videos cause I’m into the craft. Even if there are so many granny square videos out there, they aren’t made by you and your personality so I welcome it. I don’t mind a 30 minute video on a tutorial 😊
