Good afternoon,

this may come as a bit of a surprise to some of you, but recent changes in Patreon policy have made it necessary for me to do a bit of forward planning.

Over the past week I've been contacted by many of you who were concerned about the future of the game due to Patreon removing several other adult creators from their plattform. This is due to the fact that they have tightened their guidelines regarding adult entertainment.

Since I have been running this account here on Patreon, I have always made sure to adhere to the guidelines. However, this is also a matter of interpretation to a certain extent. So now that I have read some reports from content creators who have lost everything from one day to the next (without warning and on request only received prefabricated emails for explanation). I've decided to prepare for the worst.

This is why I've now opened a page on Subscribestar. You can find the link to my new account there: here.

What does this now mean for the future? From now on I will update both platforms at the same time. I have no intention of closing my Patreon account myself and if they decide that my work meets their guidelines, then great. But you can imagine how much this topic has been weighing on me the last few days. it feels like having your head under a guillotine, never knowing when or if it will fall.At the same time I won't change my game because they decide to change their rules. I have already bent a lot of my storytelling to meet their guidelines in the past. In other genres it's fine to have all kind of brutality, but when it comes to sex everything must be clean and with flowers everywhere (at least this is how it feels). I know this is not Patreon's fault and that they just want to appease their payment companies such as Paypal.Nevertheless, such a restriction on creativity just feels bad. It's a bit reminiscent of past debates about games like Counterstrike. It took years for politicians to change their minds and realize that not all people who play such a game become murderers, and in this case there were widespread protests. I doubt it will cause a similar uproar here as the audience is a much smaller target group. So, I hope this page will continue to exist and I will now try to get my head free and continue working on actual content.

You should be fine but in all honesty it’s best to diversify anyway. This has always been an issue on patrion as though they don’t really care banks do. Plus even in the porn industry porn games are kinda nothing in all honest. As of right now they’re just their (growing fast but still early). You don’t even really have an online platform to sell as places like f95 and tfgamesite are forums not market. Yes theirs steam but they only do complet games and are even more stringent on rules. While all the goats in the industry are mostly solo acts and far and in between. Even less for things like actual studios like fenoxo games or eff games. Hell the most successful porn game ever sold in house party still had a no porn addition. Don’t take what I’m saying as doom and gloom though the game industries only max years old if we take out leisure suit Larry. If I’m right it was princes tamer and brothel sim both of wich were comeclade games. 2006 minimum Industrys still finding its footing so tumbles will be inevitable. So just get up dust up and survive as makers like your are the bedrock

Thanks for providing the Subscribestar info. I’m going to move my payments over there.

Grizzly

You are one of the last Devs that I support still on Patreon so I am very happy to move my subscription over to SS.

Raz Aghoul

Moved to SS. Maybe this Patreon will wake up a bit.

This isn’t patrons fault. It’s the banks again. Subscribe star gets hit to its just their more adult oriented then Patreon is so it’s negligible to barely noticeable usually

Adicus

I hope this doesn't mean the end of threesomes with women who are also related. Patreon will shoot itself in the foot for attacking adult content, Patreon became popular only because of it.

You can never put a price on peace of mind. Because never put anything past anyone, including Patreon. Doing this is just plain business smarts. Keep yourself covered to prevent interruptions. Good move.

Hey hopefully once you finish this game, you can sell it on steam and make a bajillion bucks and not have to worry about stringent rules with crowdsourcing platforms to fund your next project

SubscribeStar said your setting for maximum active subscription is getting in my way to subscribe you there, is there anything you can do?

Dassath

I honestly miss how Patreon was 10 years ago. It is kind of sad how far they have fallen.

Chyos

Oh sure. I'll change it.

god dame banks and that one weird law in 2014 (the law that also fucked pornhub)

James

To think they actually have any legitimate concern is vein, it is all about money. Patreon will never do anything unless their financial benefits are at risk. You should move to subscriber star, your supporters don't care about which platform but rather just the project.

Zaphire

A god the wokeness strikes again.

luke

If the majority of your support came from SubscribeStar would you no longer restrict your writing?

Elpin Elite

That is actually a good point. If the majority of the subscribers move to Subscribestar, would that entice you to move over there entirely and create a more free content?

Ramseur

I will move to SS at next support payment. I hate paypal. They closed my account back in 2010 because of a post I put on a blog.
