Maui rework & other preperations (Patreon)

Good morning everyone!This week I've been busy working on sprites and a lot of animations for Maui.As this update is themed around Rumah and the orc village I've decided to spend some extra time on the female orc model in general. Maui's original model was from 0.1. Infact her animation at the hunting ground was the first I made with multiple angles (I still remember how frustrated I was when it didn't work out exactly as I wanted it to). Some of you might also remember how my male orc models looked back then. While I've changed the male model in 0.2.0, Maui still looked like in 0.1 and it always felt a bit odd to leave it like that. So now finally she gets a new look. Of course this meant I also had to rework all her animations/images... This was a really time consuming act and also the main reason why I didn't do her rework before.Now it's done and you can see the new animations in next weeks update.I plan to add other female orc characters within this 2 months update. Not sure if I get there already in 0.4.5.0 but definitly with 0.4.6.0!I've also continued my work on the new forest area and started with some dialogue in Rumah and started to work on a new scene for Nyra.With everything that has been done so far, I think the release of 0.4.4.5 this coming Wednesday (17th) is realistic.So text written, coffee finished, time to get some work done!I wish you all a relaxing weekend!

Well this looks nice i hat some Questions 1.you have said that you make a new region with a orc Village does it replace the old village or are there now 2 villages ? 2.is it compatible with the old game version or to you have to start a new game ? 3.to you change the content from previos rumah village updates ?

1. The 'first' orc village isn't a village, it's just a camp, apparently, so the new village is not a replacement. 2. All new versions are compatible with old saves, as long as the save is from 0.3.9.5 or later. 3. Chyos isn't saying that Rumah will be changed completely, only that new content will be added in addition to the content Rumah already has.

This model looks so good and well polished add to that her carrying her weapon and being a warrior makes me want to ask... Is she going to join our party? The future ending of the Rumah quest chain combined with the defeat or conquest of the Orc village would end that chapter and part of the map within the game for the time being after which she could opt to travel with you into the rest of the world. I guess it might be somewhat difficult to roleplay her into villages/cities (Arenfield, Kirlic, any future place) but she could set up camp (or at your camp) outside of villages/cities while you visit. This is way beyond the sense of her being a hotter model or anything, this is with the actual interest to make her an actual fully functional character that participates into the world with a different view on the world because she brings Orc upbringing into all her opinions which might bring about interesting and funny situations. I guess it's turning into more of a rant, but fleshing out these characters with attitude, mood, history and background is something that just popped into my mind seeing how much effort you've put into the physical/outward appearance of some of the newer models (and especially Maui in this case) - they deserve to have their own story, which has nothing to do with the sexual/sensual aspect of the game.

Great job Chyos as usual! I hope we can get her pregnant tho and the teeth are good just seem a bit too bright tho. Hope you add goblin females in the future as well.

I have always been of the opinion that fleshing out already existing characters is far better than adding more characters. I hope for extreme amounts of depth for every one of the Rumah characters but this is mostly because the Rumah storyline is my favorite. Literally can't get enough of it.

Just keeps getting more and more blizzard orc... Sigh why do people hate goblins so much and love orcs more... Whats next MC screams "for the horde!" when he finishes. Liked the old look of the village more, now feels like it needs a cartoon filter so we can just embrace its WoW rip off already. I love your work, but this is a giant step in wrong direction went from feeling original and what not to, generic, and basic. Gonna start doing generic remakes of original looking char, it might be time to pull out support from this game. I mean whats next redo the gnome girl? The maid? The whole damn town?

I have no plans to rework other characters. However I said in my first post this year in January that I do want to improve the quality of the character models. I did that over the past year for almost every character, most changes are only slight so you don't notice the difference but they all have now more skin details. I planned to do Maui's rework a long time ago. (I posted a first version of it on discord back then) And while yes her old design was original, I also always felt like I could do better with her. The reason why I didn't change it earlier was as always missing time. So why now? I obviously want to add more female orcs with the coming updates. Making them look completely different than Maui would kind of make her look out of place. The only other option would have been to make the new female orcs look similar to the old Maui model (which is something I didn't want to do because, as I've just written I didn't like her old model). This is of course my subjective point of view and I do understand that not everyone sees it like me.

I think you are doing a great work Chyos and you definitely have my continued support since I first found this game. The remodel looks amazing!

I think she is nice, maybe a bit too nice to my taste. A crueler look would benefit her as an Orc? I don't really mind that WoW/Warhammer outloock of Orcs, I might prefer a slightly less green hue but I think it's ok,

I do agree a bit with Zal that this model seems different, i wouldnt go so far though, i think she looks to smooth now, i thought she looked a little bit off, but sexy in unconscious thought, the new model look a bit much like a human with green skin and teeths, a more rugged look and less smooth face would be preferable in my opinion.
