I totally believe you about not seeing it! I only saw it after seeing reactions to it on YouTube! Somehow, I had a completely wrong idea of what this movie was about and dismissed it as a dumb sports movie. I was totally blown away by how good Stallone's acting and writing were. When I found out a bit more about the behind the scenes elements I became a huge fan of Stallone. (He still owns the turtles Cuff and Link! The dog Bupkus was his dog, he was so poor he had to sell him for living expenses. After the movie was a success, the new owner sold Bupkus back at an extortionate rate. Stallone paid gladly.)

That is so awesome that he got Bupkus back, but what a turd that owner was. I bet if they just sold him back for the original price, Stallone would have offered more anyway. He's always struck me as a good dude, who really goes all in on his passions.

Yeah, he really does! (I should also admit I was really late to the party watching First Blood. I had seen Rambo III and written the character off as cartoonish pro 'Murica propaganda. I was astounded by how good First Blood was by comparison. I literally still cry at the way the movie depicts how veterans of Vietnam were treated. NZ Vietnam veterans were treated much the same by the public. Stallone is a hell of a guy in my book.)
