I said we'd get another Shane Black soon, and here it is 🤣  This one was a bit different, though, which was nice, I'm really enjoying these.

Warner is trying to screw me over The Last Boy Scout, so I'm giving this one extra time before I upload it to YT.  Hope you enjoy!

Michael Nolan

OK, I am now seeing some of Shane Black's repeated schtick. I loved this movie even though the basic story was a rehash of "The Bourne Identity." There were loads of action movie cliches (my favourite being the super duper hand grenade that did not project shrapnel but instead filled an entire hallway with slow moving fire.) The relationships between the characters were super fun!

Sometimes repitition and seeing the tropes an artist does can be good even in the routine of it. Shane Black does buddy cop very well, Scorcese does the mafia movie very well etc. its just when they diverge too much from that and either try things that fall flat or just do weird what are you thinking stuff like Ridley Scott with Prometheus or Nolan with Tenet.

I'm inclined to agree. And since he's still mixing it up, I appreciate it. The movies share DNA but they aren't clones.

This is my very best Christmas film. So glad you watched this film!!! I believe this was the film I caught your YouTube channel with. Also, Geena Davis! She is just, whew! She is a Woman.
