Ok.... So I discovered a few things whilst watching these Hi! JO1 eps....... Firstly, they are crackheads... We love that! Secondly, Shoesei's speaking voice maaaayyyyy have sent me into another dimension.... WTF is that? How do I process this? Thirdly.... Keigo is hilarious and soooo cheeky.... Fourthly, Mame is adorable... He seems so loveable.. Fifthly, I like how one of Takumi's eyes goes smaller when he talks... His face is cute... Sixthly, Ren has so much presence, he doesn't even have to be saying anything but I love how he is so actively in whatever is going on without actually being "in" it... Seventhly, Shion's laugh was killing me hahahaha he is so funny.... Eighthly, Sukai is a big old dork and I love him.... Ninethly, Syoya is adorable and all the sauce being on his mouth was cute AF..... Tenthly, Ruki seems like a chill guy... I feel like I could hang with him easily... Eleventhly, I thought Junki would be the loudest one out of all of them (I don't know why), but he didn't seem to be? I want to see more of his personality.... Twelthly, Sho was the PERFECT teacher choice... I legit forgot he wasn't actually a teacher at one point HAHA

And to wrap it all up..... I didn't get what they were doing (someone explain - shouldn't they all know Kanji?) but I enjoyed every second!

Thank you so much Mel, this was so fun! Keigo always says Ruki is the most normal member in JO1 hehe. He's just chilling and then will come out with the funniest most savage comment 😆 I would say Junki is defo loud hehe but maybe not as much in this episode. I think me and Claire have left a few episode of Hi! JO1 on the google doc and I'm sure they will drop some vlogs from their world tour and I would love to suggest when they come out.

2026-09-21 01:00 Personally, I think you would really enjoy Hi! JO1 episode 33, which is JO1 Soccer Cup. They performed at the half time show for the J league 30th anniversary and did this super silly penalty kick competition to celebrate. I also put this on the google form, it’s only 20 minutes and just a stand alone episode and still one of my favourites! They really let their crackhead flag fly in this one 😆 Hi! I think the loudest I've ever seen Junki was during those Tension Max clips in JO1House (?). I had to skip those parts 'cause Junki and Mame were way too energetic and loud for me😂

I can really recommend their bowling episodes of Hi!Jo1 (42+43 and 82+83). I've seen those episodes so many times and they don't fail to make me laugh 😂

Also Mel I gotta be so honest, I never even questioned if they were pretending in the Kanji class. I kind of took as if I were to go to school now and try and do an English grammar lesson or exam. Like yes it’s my first language but I might not remember everything or do amazing on a test hehe. But I might be so wrong and they are faking it lol

I think it’s because I don’t exactly know what they were asking. I thought it was trying to remember how to spell words in kanji. Which I would have presumed they knew? Or should know. But I think I misunderstood the task 😂

Re: the kanji, I asked my mom and she said that basically they are doing really difficult kanji that not everyone can write, so it's even more impressive that Shion is good at it. Think like the equivalent of using spelling bee level words.
