Finnish Guard M1844 uniform (with greatcoat) (Patreon)

This type of uniform would have been worn during the battles in Finnish archipelago and coasts in "Åland War", part of the wider Crimean War. The Guard, Russian units and civilian volunteers repelled many landings attempted by the British, but the British-French navy was successful in destroying many of the fortifications.

While the uniform is in many ways similar to Russian guard units of the time, Finnish Guard was always distinct in its use of blue instead of crimson red. On the Pickelhaube, the Russian eagle carries a shield with the Finnish lion.
