More simplified comparison. I've read a bit about Hanko lately so I wanted to draw something related to this battle, but not the usual better detailed comparison.

The peace treaty after the Winter War gave Soviets a naval base in Hanko peninsula in Southern Finland. As the Continuation War started, the peninsula was besieged by the Finnish army, and the battle lasted until the end of the year when the Soviet Navy managed to evacuate most of the troops.

Pictured here is a Swedish volunteer, who still wears her Swedish army shirt and side cap, and a British gas mask bag. She's armed with Finnish improved Imperial Russian Mosin-Nagant.

The Soviet, in early war fashion, carries a lot of ammunition for M91-30. Some of her comrades would fight in full Naval uniforms. Troops in the peninsula were equipped properly, just in case.

There were still foreign volunteers in the continuation war? I thought most of them left after the Winter War (outside of those who couldn’t book passage due to German and British blockades)

1941-44 period 1700 Swedish volunteers served (~1000 in Hanko). But yes, noticeably fewer than in Winter War. Hanko is almost half Swedish-speaking, so a lot of Swedish speakers served on that front overall. Another important volunteer group was ~3300 Estonians, to avoid being deported to Siberia or drafted in German or Soviet armies. They and the Swedes fought incredibly well.
