So some of the people who have gotten BW pics from me have been trying to color them, I have also noticed that some have had some problems so Im making this quick tutorial to help. Its not hard but some people might not know, so I will try to keep it pretty simple but and provide as much detail as I can

This was made with Clip Studio Paint, but the general idea should work in other programs as well.

Ok so first off you have your line art and it just happens to be on a white canvas and you want to color it with out getting any of those left over white pixels. Well thats what the blending mode "Multiply" is for. What Multiply does is basically makes lighter shades transparent, so the dark lineart or sketch reminds but we can see the colors on the layers under it.

So all you do is with the line art layer selected you click the blending mode tab and select multiply

if you have done this correctly then the word multiply should show up in the layers little window thingy

and that's pretty much it, your pretty much set to start coloring on the color layer thats under the line art layer.

I personally like to use the Lasso Fill tool to color these kinds of pics, as shown here

filling it all with one color first just to lock down the shape

then i would click the "lock transparent pixels" button on the layer so that i can add colors and not have to worry about going out side the main coloring area

also its not a bad idea to add a bg layer with a color so that you can see things better as you add in colors to the shape, Sonic's white gloves are kind of hard to see on a white BG after all

so yeah that's the gist of it, experiment see what works for you and be sure to let me know if you have any questions
