Sadly, no adventure in July - I was called away to help a relative who'd had surgery. But the Roots of Ambition is (are?) have been taking shape this weekend.

As you can see, I'm trying something slightly different with the layout - treating the adventure as a two-page spread with portrait orientation, instead of a duplex landscape one-pager. This (not coincidentally) is the layout I'm using for the compilation, which will help me when I get around to adding this one to it.

This is my second desert adventure, and I'm realizing how handy it would be to have a bestiary floating around. This area is directly north of The Oracle's Decree (unless, as usual, you put it somewhere else in your own campaign setting), and both Heelan (in numbers) and water shades (less so) are making an appearance, but who wants to describe the same monster twice? I'd rather get on with the good stuff.

Looks good - I assume you'll still make the full images available on the blog?

Yes, definitely, I have no plans to change that. By way of nothing in particular, I'm using an InDesign feature that lets me crop the graphics in the document itself, so rather than having to deal with preparing left and right halves of the map, I can just worry about a single image. I've scanned a rough blue-pencil version of the map for a placeholder in the layout, so when I update it, it should plop into place with a minimum of fuss.

Is that Illustrator I see?
