Content
We know the wait has been long.
This update isn't just about adding more content.
We've been reworking a lot of the game's foundation — how scenes are played, how resources are handled, and how much detail and presentation we can put on screen.
As the game has grown, we became increasingly concerned that continuing to build on top of the old structure would create bigger optimization problems later on, while also making bugs harder and harder to track down and fix.
Since we still have a lot more content planned for the future, we felt this was something we needed to address now rather than later.
So instead of simply adding more scenes and calling it an update, we've been rebuilding parts of the game so we can improve both performance and overall quality at the same time.
Because of this, the current build looks noticeably different from the previous version.
We've also been adding new types of presentation and effects that weren't possible before.
Here are a few videos showing what we're currently working on.
These are still work-in-progress, so they're not final versions, but this is the state we're comfortable showing you right now.
If you're used to the previous build, some of these changes may feel a little unfamiliar at first.
That's actually one of the reasons we waited so long before showing them.
We spent quite a bit of time wondering whether it was better to reveal a change in direction early, or wait until everything was polished enough to properly explain what we were trying to do.
But with our current goal of having a test build ready by the end of October, we felt it was better to show you the direction we're heading in before then.
And this work isn't limited to H-scenes.
We've also been improving the story, art, animation, combat, and other parts of the game as a whole.
There's still a lot we haven't shown yet.
In the next developer logs, we'll start breaking down these changes one by one and show you more clearly what has changed, why we changed it, and how it affects the game.
Thank you, as always, for your patience and continued support.
